I just checked it now the match has been suspended, which means it is cancelled due to rain. I feared this would happen in the end England still won the series. In my opinion the test matches should be avoided in such climate, a T20 or a one day match could have been a good idea.

I just checked it now the match has been suspended, which means it is cancelled due to rain. I feared this would happen in the end England still won the series. In my opinion the test matches should be avoided in such climate, a T20 or a one day match could have been a good idea.

Where do you see the match suspended ? There is no official announcement for the suspension of  the match as yet. The players are warming up and the match should begin in 15 - 30 mins from now onwards.

Finally the match is in progress and James Anderson has a fair chance to get his 1 wicket to complete his 600 wickets in the test matches. If the match does not stops again, we have 41 overs left to be bowled in this test match.

Match has resumed and we have 42 overs scheduled for the day if there is no rain and match continue. England will have 18 overs in that with the new ball to bowl. But seems they will be able to pull this match and result would be draw. Only thing for now I am looking is for Anderson 600 wicket. Azhar Ali might make another ton in this innings as well.

The match ended as another boring draw, which is a great injustice to the sport. It is a loss to everyone. The fans waited patiently despite the numerous rain interruptions and ground inspections, the English players were left frustrated as this was the last test for the year 2020 and finally the TV broadcasters couldn't believe their bad luck. Can the ICC just ignore this issue? So many matches are getting wasted as a result of rain. Don't they want to take any actions?

Wrong. The Indian team is not over-reliant on Kohli these days and the same applies to Pakistan and Azam. Ben Stokes is an all-rounder in comparison.

I am not talking about Test Cricket specifically. In test cricket there are a few players like Pujara primarily talking about One days and T20. Team is over-reliant on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

Its a shame that rain has ruined another test match and so far the English summer has been nothing but a disappointing one when it comes to cricket as most of the matches have been affected by rain. I really think England would of won this test as they had all the momentum and Pakistan were struggling once again under pressure. Well at least we got to see James Anderson became the first fast bowler to reach 600 Test wickets, congrats to him.

Pitches are friendly to batsmen everywhere in the shorter format (Home +away) India's record is not bad in ODI, Although they are making habit of choking in Semis and finals but its not because of foreign-seaming conditions or rely on kohli.

In shorter format i would say India rely on Top order batsmen (Top 3), it include Kohli too. Rohit-Kohli names pops up automatically which you already mentioned. Sikhar was impressive for fair amount of time, majority of  India's success in recent time came because of this Trio Rohit-Sikhar-Virat . We shouldn't forget Sikhar was in very good form during last World cup, he was bit unlucky that he got injured and i think he might fade away soon from this trio but there are other players ready to take his spot already.

Whenever Top 3 fails, India lose the game 90% of the time.

Well pakistan was lucky enough to stop their defeat in this match. After this draw if we see they lose the series by 0-1 which doesn't seems bad but their performance actually was much worse.

Anderson is actually aiming for 700. Yesterday, during an interview he made it clear that he would like to play in next year's Ashes series. And I support him. Anderson-Broad was much better than Archer-Woakes during this series. And the ECB selectors need to stop treating Archer like a god. He is useless against quality opposition and needs to be dropped.

It is disappointing to see that the matches are interrupted by rain, may be Pakistan was lucky in this situation if not they would have lost the series by a bigger margin. The first Test would have been Pakistan's match until they lost the momentum in the second innings and if they could have played better they could have won the series as the rest of the matches were washed away by weather.

Take action against whom ? Rain is in no one control and the weather in England is unpredictable and you cannot scheduled matches according to the weather forecasts. Yes, it was disappointing because we wanted to watch the teams in action after the long pause because of covid-19.
