If South Africa gets direct qualification which team plays the qualifier. As of now we've got 8 teams for direct qualification. India being the host it directly enters. Other teams under the seven are England, Bangladesh, Afghanistan Pakistan, New Zealand, West Indies and Australia. Every team looks like they're in a strong position.

It looks as if Sri Lanka may not make it. The big surprise is that of Afghanistan. They are in a very comfortable position, with almost guaranteed qualification. That means that out of the 9 tier-1 test nations, one more nation (apart from Sri Lanka) may fail to qualify. And it looks as if that honor may go to either West Indies or South Africa. West Indies recently lost an ODI series to Ireland, while South Africa forfeited 3-match series against Australia. All the other tier-1 test nations are in a comfortable position.

During this match, David Willey played a brave innings that helped England to reach a reasonable target. Today, he's the man who made the difference; England was cruising before he entered the picture. It is indeed a good total for England. It would take some effort on the part of India. As Kohli has a great chance to shine, I'm hoping it will be a great contest.

I don't think England will be able to collect as much as 246. They lost 5 top-order batsmen by 102 runs. I thought they would lose all their wickets before 150 like in the first match. But I'm totally surprised to see England's performance, they scored 246 runs. I guess England will win this match. Let's see what happens. However, the Indian team has a lot of talented players.

Since India are in form, their winning chance is much higher then England. In today's match, they have decided to bowl after winning the toss, in which case they will do well in chasing. If England want to do well, they have to be given big targets, otherwise it will be more difficult for them to win. Current run rate is 5.45(40 run) without losing any wicket. This is really a good start for England.

Lower middle order rescued England from complete humiliation (esp. Moeen Ali and David Willey). England batsmen found ordinary spin from Yuzvendra Chahal unplayable, in a track that offered hardly any support for the spinners. But to their credit, the English bowlers destroyed the Indian top order within the initial 12 overs. The bad run continues for Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant. Now Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya are trying to build a partnership for the 5th wicket. Both the players are in very good form anyway.

Same thing isn't really happening with India, after seeing the target I thought it won't really be a very tedious task for India to chase the target but they way wickets have fallen, India is almost on their way to lose with No one really good left in the lower order as well, on one side the tail is completely exposed with Shami on the crease while on the other side Jadeja is really struggling to score runs. i think this match is gone from hands of Indian team.

A big comeback from England, not of the win but the way they played. Lost opening order 5 wickets for just 102 runs. Further the team have managed to score 247 runs. This is really good Cricket, because most could've imagined a match similar to the first ODI. When it comes to chasing the target, India wasn't able to find a way. From the very beginning of the match Topley started to shine same as Bumrah changed the first ODI. Anyhow this win have made the third ODI to be more interesting, because it is the final that decides who win the series.

This is 4th one sided match of this small limited over series. Both teams are good but no one is showing any kind of fight and just dominating each others on their day.

KL Rahul got injured during South Africa series, i guess he had surgery recently and recovering now that's why he's sitting out from this tour.

The third and final match of the Ireland vs New Zealand ODI series will be played today. It is a must win match for Ireland, because they have only 68 points so far in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League. And this is despite the series win against West Indies a few months back. If they lose today's match, then it is almost certain that they need to play the qualifier matches for the 2023 ODI World Cup. BTW, New Zealand is in a very comfortable position. They have won all of their 8 matches so far and thereby have 80 points.

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first was a bad decision for Rohit Sharma. Reece Topley took 6 wickets yesterday destroying the Indian batting order. I am still not sure why the Indian management still giving chances to Kohli. They could have rested him and given someone the chance to play. I hope they rest him in the next match.

The initial turnaround happened when Moen Ali started to build partnership and David Willey joined hands. If they haven't scored, then England could've set a target less than 200 runs. Even 246 runs looked an easy target for India. The initial fall of wickets is the major reason for the collapse. From the very beginning Topley dominated the bowling and completely made a turnaround towards England.

The sudden collapse of India on the other can be said England roaring again. Most of us assumed that India would win the match but in the end England won, this is called cricket where everything is uncertain. No one can say who will win. A number of England players have scored relatively well while Indian batsmen have lost their wickets early.

As long as India have non-performing players such as Virat Kohli, they will be on the backfoot. Indian lower middle order as well as the bowling components are quite strong. But the same can't be said about top order batting. Anyway, despite all that they have performed relatively well so far in the series. The focus is on T20 World Cup, which is supposed to be held later this year and therefore ODI matches may not be given much attention. This is an ideal situation to give some of the younger players an opportunity to play top level cricket.

New Zealand VS Ireland

The third ODI between New Zealand and Ireland is going on now. Despite fielding first in the first two matches, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat in the match. New Zealand's collection is 126/2 in 19 overs. They are scoring over than 6 runs in per over. If this continues, they will be able to give more than 300 targets. Though this is a batting-friendly pitch. So New Zealand will not be able to win if the target is below 300. In previous matches we have seen the extraordinary batting of the Irish players.
