Virat Kohli should have been given a chance in the series against Zimbabwe. He has been out of form for three long years. Zimbabwe's bowling line-up is weak. Virat Kohli might have been able to play well against such a team. If he returns to form, he might be able to perform consistently well again. But BCCI rested Virat Kohli. It doesn't look like he will be able to return to form for the next World Cup. Kohli is probably going to be kicked out of the Indian team very quickly.

That was one possible solution to get his form back but i guess BCCI hardly believe in this narrative for right and wrong reasons.

Virat Kohli would get far better practice if he starts featuring in Domestic matches because next 6 WTC tests are in subcontinent and ODI WC is also in India so no brainer imo. At least it would be a lot better playing against Zim.

Now talking about Virat Kohli is completely waste of time and energy because his personal ego is bigger than his career and game, so he is paying for this all but here I am feeling happy about this announcement because they are doing right job with their youths which are going to be good for their preparations for next World Cup giving rest to Sr Members and having good faith with youths will surely help them in coming day with these practices matches they are going to take some good experience.

Bringing back few top ranked players and mixing with youths are going to be good as right now Zimbabwe is also in good form, and they are enjoying much success after qualifying for T-20 World cup.

He has failed at international level and if he can't perform this time as well, then other younger keepers such as Anju and Bharat should be given a chance instead. But good choice of Shikhar as the captain. I have always maintained that he is a much better captain when compared to the other choices such as Rishabh, Rohit and Rahul.

Zimbabwe is not that strong team and this series will be a one sided one. Two spinner and one medium pacers added to the squad, spinners can be effective as Zimbabwe doesn't have batters who are good against spinners. Good to know that Rahul Tripathi got a chance. India needs good all-rounder and his performance in this series might get him a permanent berth in the India A team.

A very good selection from selectors because now it's good time for giving these youngsters chance against team like these West Indies, Zimbabwe and few others those are currently struggling with this all players those already having good success in IPL will gain more international experience which is going to help them for having good chance in next ODI world cup which is going to play in India.

Here they need to do some more work like fix few players for white ball cricket and test team could be also separated because this will cut some load of selectors and players, those will have just one format for giving their best.

Indian domestic is never been ideal which is surely having some trouble for player if they can bring changes there as well as surely it's going to be more good for them because domestic set up can bring more players like IPL for test format.

If a player is not available, how can we count him as a part of the team? The same with players such as Pollard, Russell and Bravo as well. If these players were available for the series, then who knows. The outcome would have been different.

It all comes down to money at the end of the day. Their board is completely corrupt and insists on paying very little which is why so many world-class players like Narine etc decided to focus more on domestic leagues like the IPL when compared to their own international team.

Well they need at least 1 senior player in the squad, hence Dhawan. Next Senior player is Kuldeep Yadav and rest of the squad is pretty new in ODI.

Don't know who is Anju but management looks at Bharat as another future test WK option. Management also trying hard to make Thakur allrounder in limited over cricket that's why he keeps finding place in the squad these days.

I believe any Indian squad will beat Zimbabwe. This series is a kind of opportunity for Indian cricketers especially those who are at the lower level. So the Indian team has a chance to make some new additions to their international career through this series.
