Everyone were expecting different teams, because West Indies lost to Afghanistan which is a new team by then, but finally it managed to win the T20 World Cup. However this time Pakistan have taken it more serious and were playing the tournament with more confidence which has brought the win in the first match. Final match will be more interesting, because West Indies will take chance to mark its win.

The case with West Indies is somewhat unique. They have some of the best cricket players in the world. I am talking about players such as Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell and Nicholas Pooran. But they always underperform at the international level. One reason maybe the lack of bonding between various players and their preference for franchise cricket above international cricket. The regionalism and race-issues which plague cricket in the West Indies is not helping things any further. We already saw how political interference and racial preference destroyed cricket in South Africa.

I was reading in news that after 14 years Multan is hosting an ODI and 3 in a row. That good for cricket fans in Multan as they not only have the opportunity to watch ODIs but also seeing there country winning. Babar Azam once again is showing his class, he is simply unstoppable these days.

Yes, this is true as Multan is hosting One day international after more than a decade. We do have international players coming to Pakistan to play cricket on PSL and other occasions but none of those matches were played in Multan. Australian and Srilankan teams visited Pakistan too but all those matches were played in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi cities. This time all the matches with West Indies were scheduled at Mutlan and it was an excellent descsion by the cricket board.

Right now, they are placed #5 in the Cricket World Cup Super League, with just 8 wins from 20 matches. In all probability, they will have to play in the qualifier tournament for 2023 ODI World Cup. They have just 4 more matches left - one ODI against Pakistan, and 3 more against Bangladesh. They need to win at least two out of these four matches in order to secure direct qualification.

There was a match between Nepal and the United States in ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 yesterday. The match ended in a tie, as both the teams scored 274 runs each. US needed 6 runs from the last over (they were at 269/4 and needed 275). But the Nepal bowler (Mohammad Aadil Alam) took two wickets in the last two balls to deny the Americans a victory. And in the first innings, Aasif Sheikh, Dev Khanal and Rohit Paudel scored half centuries for Nepal to took them to a respectable total. US is still ahead of Nepal in the points table.

LOL... I have seen cricket matches taking place in South Asia, even when the temperature is above 45 degrees. And it is not like Australians are not used to these sort of weather. More than two-thirds of their own country is desert wasteland and some of the highest temperatures in the Southern Hemisphere were recorded there. So I am sure that the players are going to be fine (both the hosts, as well as the visitors). If it was England or New Zealand, then we could have said that the players may face a lot of difficulty.
