There is good news for West Indies. They managed to win the ODI match against New Zealand. And with this win, they have 90 points in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League and are now almost guaranteed of a position in top-8. And what this means is that it will be very difficult for both Sri Lanka and South Africa to qualify for the ODI World Cup in 2023. South Africa also forfeited the ODI series against Australia and this puts them in a very difficult position. Sri Lanka has 6 matches remaining and South Africa has 8. Now it will be almost impossible for them to catch up to West Indies.

Bad, really bad performance from New Zealand. West Indies took the best decision of bowling first after winning the toss. New Zealand put on a very low score Which was very easy for West Indies to Chase.

And about the World Cup, I think all of them will be able to qualify for the World Cup 2023 But now it seems like West Indies is going to be ahead. I believe we are talking about direct qualifications for the World Cup. It will be interesting to see West Indies getting qualified and South Africa and/or Sri Lanka have to wait. And South Africa not playing against Australia has made it harder on themselves.

The Zimbabwe vs India series is going to take place shortly. Zimbabwe played well against Bangladesh in their last series and won the series. But I don't think Zimbabwe will win any match against India. India will win this series very easily.

I thought Virat Kohli would be given a chance in this series. And it will take an effort to bring him back to form, as Zimbabwe's bowling line-up is weak. But the Indian management did not keep Virat Kohli in the squad.

In today game India is going without too many main players which is good for these youngsters as they are going to represent their country and this is going to be an exciting match because recently Zimbabwe having good results against Bangladesh and their confidence level is high which is surely going to help them for giving good challenge to these Indian youngsters, but still Indian batting is at the top level even they can face some problems in bowling but still their batting line up is capable of doing anything against this Zimbabwe bowling attack which is just average.

Considering the bowling it looks like India have chosen to bowl after winning the toss. Sanju Samson will try the best to keep things favouring India. But the wayward Indian bowling (Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Siraj) have gifted them 13 runs in the form of extras. This shows the importance of playing warmup matches. Both the bowlers looks as if they haven't adjusted to the conditions yet. A total of 7 wides conceded in the first 4 overs. Can you believe this? They are bowling with good pace, but the discipline is simply not there.

Last night we have very disappointing play from New Zealand, and they lost this match by good margin even having full strength squad but still their batting collapsed and give only 194 runs target which chased by West Indian batting in just 40 overs with the lost of five wickets, a thumbing victory for them in this first ODI and now their confidence could be also high for next matches, and we can expect a good entertaining cricket from these both exciting teams.

This series will be completely one-sided. India's squad is not as inexperienced as Bangladesh's. Zimbabwe lost 6 wickets in just 83 runs. Indian bowlers are doing very well. Deepak Chahar and Prasidh Krishna's bowling in particular is commendable.

Netherlands lost 3 wickets at 8 runs. Now the score have reached 70 runs in 16 overs which is a good recovery. Cooper is getting close to make his 50 runs. The run rate is quite good. Pakistan had a good start, now Netherlands is managing well the situation finding ways to make some runs.

Good work by the Indian bowlers. Target is 190 from 50 overs. Contributions from Richard Ngarava and Brad Evans towards the end took Zimbabwe to a decent total, but it is not enough for a win. Regis Chakabva was the only other batsmen who could score more than 30. Indian bowlers were all impressive without any exception. Deepak Chahar looked really good, coming back from an injury.

BTW, Netherlands got a good start in their match against Pakistan. Two of their best and on-form batsmen are at the crease (Bas de Leede and Tom Cooper). They are playing without 7 of their county-contracted players and therefore I am not expecting any miracles from them.

Zimbabwe started losing wickets from the beginning of the match. I would say 189 is good enough for Zimbabwe. The way they batted I thought they would lose all their wickets before 150. Brad Evans's 33 and Richard Ngarava's 34  runs helped Zimbabwe set a target of 190 runs. Among the Indian bowlers, Chahar and Axar Patal bowled very well. I don't think India will lose more than 2 wickets to win this match.
