Talking about the big picture... AS I wrote before, the  Ukraine fiasco is just a small dot in a bigger canvas.  Other main characters are now entering the play. And events are accelerating into the climax. We have a ringside view of the birth of an alternative financial system as the world's largest economy, China, and world's resources superpower (and Europe's richest country, GDP-PPP of $3.4 trillion per World Bank 2013 records), Russia, begins their dance to step away from the moribund bankrupt WEstern financial system. THere will still be deaths in Ukraine as the crumbling West struggles from their terminal coma but it's obvious they have lost Ukraine. It appears, the bigger battle, the De-dollarization nuclear war, is already unstoppable and we are watching now the First Act...

The article from Zerohedge below should have been titled : Who needs the bankrupt WEst anyway? THe US has a $220 trillion unfunded liabilities (debts) while Russia only has $800 billion. China has the first and Russia has the third largest reserves in the world but a bunch of countries drowning in debts are threatening the latter with denial of financing.

    "We are not going to break old contracts, most of which were denominated in dollars," Shuvalov said through an interpreter.

    "But, we're going to encourage companies from the two countries to settle more in local currencies, to avoid using a currency from a third country."

Speaking of low IQ, I only mentioned that I am a count as the reason for why much of my family was exterminated by Soviets after the Russian revolution, not to brag about an essentially meaningless status. My main sources of information are Russian and "Western" media. I use my Kiev sources to verify claims, and I know how to read Russian propaganda "between the lines." It's also easy to read a Russian report about something, see photos from, say, Poland that show that this report is untrue, and figure out that most likely everything is the Russian report is not happening.

Sure, but considering the censorship in Russia, the takedown of blogs, the violence against anyone who doesn't go along with the party propaganda, the assassinations of reporters... Now THAT I know. It's actually quite a tragedy. Russians generally believe politics is stuff best left to politicians, and don't care to be involved with it, or what their politicians are doing. Which leaves their politicians to rob them of their wealth and freedom. When the Nazi government was burning people in ovens, Germans generally didn't care either, but at least now they admit that not caring was a huge mistake. Likewise, Ukraine really cares about their politics and politicians, and that's why they deposed Yanukovich when he started to rule Russian style, by stealing Ukrainians' wealth and freedoms, and is probably why Russian government freaked out about the protests so much, not wanting Russians to depose them for doing the same thing.
