Here are the ideas so far to promote VRC 1) Spread the word social media, word to mouth 2) Promotional booth at trade shows, street fairs, you will need shirts, buttons, give aways. (all will bring awareness) Post pictures of such events * in progress already 3) Stickers, QR codes, leave them at coffee shops, libraries, small business 4) I mentioned to the devs a while back we should do a easter egg hunt. Place random Vrc wallets ( 5 -10 vrc) let people know about it.. find it it's yours with instructions to Post it via social media. 5 ) Give out prizes, I have my eyes on this Titanium Wallet I saw Pat with * cough cough 6) Yoshiwatusi - Android games as prizes 7) Barabbas - World Vericoin Day * we need help to word this better, set a date and figure out what we can do on such a date, Get the word out, promote the campaign. Please add more ideas guys ~

Because of that when we were rising we got benefit, but when we are dropping now it's hurting us too.

What we con do immediately is adding a Vericoin logo to our websites and in our signatures. Something like "we support Vericoin" with a link to the Vericoin site. If anyone makes a logo like this I'll add it to my website. It's only a b2b Website but every link counts. And of course Facebook. I don't like FB, but my wife is very active and i could add it to her account.

Please add more ideas guys ~ I would suggest each one also write an email to amazon or bitpremier or the likes requesting to accept vericoin in the near future. At least that would start some interest and would get the coin in their radar. I have started to do so and they always come back with a respectful reply. Bitpremier came back that it is considering in the mid-long term, dunno how true, but, they will start checking the coin out. Adoption drives up value, so more and more merchant adoption & usage = > value.

Hey, Just wanted to thank those who have all made donations for the MN State Fair coming up on 8/30/14. I wanted to let everyone know we're currently at 3,000 VRC that has been donated!! The one thing I don't understand is I wanted to make sure the public ledger is clearly reflecting the balance of the donations. So I entered in the key I'm using into the block explorer. Perhaps this is because I used an old wallet address from Bittrex (which I know is hot) it doesn't seem to clearly reflect VRC coming in. It says on the block explorer (at least from what I can tell) the current balance is 100 VRC. Well I actually have 3000 in the account. Perhaps what is happening is the coin is being transferred to bittrex's pool of VRC or something? What I didn't want to do is just give my actual coin's address on my desktop - because I was trying to avoid co-mingling funds. I donno just a thought - maybe it doesn't matter. Maybe there a better solution? I just wanted to make sure if people wanted to check they could easily see a trail of what's come in and how much we have. Anyway, thanks for the support!! My friends and I will be giving away 100% of any VRC donated. Also if anyone is interested in making/donating VRC apparel/paraphernalia please do! I can send you a physical address through PM if you have anything you want to contribute. With so many people being at the fair - I don't think we can have too much stuff.

I have a laser engraver on order, when it arrives i'm going to make some wooden wallets and donate them to those that need promotion material.
That would be badass! I'm 100% down to hand out some of those.

I hope you have a good time (and take lots of photos)! You won't be able to track the donations very easily with that Bittrex address. Your deposits get moved to other addresses that Bittrex controls and they keep track of your balance in a database. When you make a withdrawal from Bittrex, they look up your balance in the database, make sure that you have enough to cover it, and then send the coins from one or more of their many addresses.

I was just hoping to use a wallet that I knew I wasn't going to be using any time soon with a starting 0 balance. Again since I move money in/out of my personal wallet and in/out of mintpal I really don't want to use it. In the mean time I'll just keep posting the incoming transactions so everyone knows where we're at

Just to put together a quick list of what we've been talking about so far for the MN State Fair booth on 8/30/14 we have:
- 3,000 VRC in donations to give away - buy4crypto might be able to have his friend print us up some VRC swag. - souljah1h is talking about crafting us some wooden wallets with his laser engraver - Kevondo will have us do a live skype interview during the event on Saturday the 30th.
One thing I would love to get (if someone has them out there) are 2 VRC T-shirts. We would need 2 large. Not sure if this is possible??
Also over the next few days I'll work on crafting a list of what it is we are planning on doing/talking/saying. All that good stuff. Thanks for all the support everyone!!! FYI we can always use more VRC donations. The more we get - the more we can hand out!!

Long time lurker and new to working with Cryptocurrency. So forgive stupid questions. I am working on my marketing degree as well as being a full-time photographer. But I like working with Bitcoin and Altcoins because I do believe in what they can accomplish.
With Vericoin, what is the potential price, considering what can be done with it?
I'm curious about this because if something like Litecoin can linger around $5 and having jumped to $30 plus at some stage. Couldn't something like Vericoin hit those levels due to the real world applications associated with the coin.
I like learning, so anything I can apply to my degree or investing, i'd love to listen

Hey Joe,
I think the majority of stakeholders in this community view VeriCoin as a long term investment with real-world, global acceptance as the goal.
We have an amazingly transparent and dedicated Core Dev team, as well as many other supporting Developers driving innovation and our community is growing every day. Having dedicated developers that you can interact with on a daily basis is priceless imo.

I've noticed that and that is what attracts me to the coin / project.
As a marketing major I do need to find something that I can do a final paper on and I wanted to choose the world of Cryptocurrency because it is such a new world. BUt what I like about Vericoin is that it is crossing into that consumer world. So for me, it is fun to watch and see what happens. I also have a small amount invested that way I am always watching and learning.
I look forward to more people responding and helping me learn.

Well I certainly wouldn't want anyone to blow smoke up my a&&, but I guess people will do that, or be negative. I am genuinely curious what the price can do considering it's actual use in the marketplace as well as how the normal consumer might find it easy to use.
Thanks
Joe

I can tell you any coin can go from 0 to a million over night. Not sure if you were around when Auroacoin hit it big but it was the first coin that ever dethroned litecoin as #2 from a market cap point of view. I think it hit something crazy like $300,000,000 at it's peak for market cap. Now... it's not even a top 50 coin?? Totally came and went, nothing new to the coin other than the marketing tactic of tying it to a country (Iceland's offical currency!! derp) So yeah - any idea can hit #2, #3, #4 from a market cap point of view. Just depends how much the whales want to buy in
