Although these coins are not intended to be used for transactions, you can still never be certain if the previous owner didn’t secretly keep a copy of the private keys, or the Bitcoin that you’re supposed to receive hasn’t already been spent. (NOR CAN YOU BE CERTAIN THE COIN ISN'T MADE OF TUNGSTEN) Hopefully, this problem will be solved in the next generation of the “Gold-Bitcoin.”gotta admit these are pretty: http://www.forbes.com/sites/ericxlmu/2014/07/21/chinese-bitcoiner-made-physical-bitcoin-in-pure-gold/ Is there currently a solution to the physical bitcoin trust problem? Is there a way to pass on a private key without the ability to later redeem it's balance? Have there been any proposals to get around this? I ask because I may have developed a solution for an un-hackable physical coin, but while it requires you to trust me, it's not worth pursuing.

Laws are what the rulers use to control their subjects. As such, central banks are in no way bound by laws. That's a fundamental misunderstanding of how the system works.
