An friend here in Portland told me to post a video showing her BFL FPGA / GPU setup.

She made this video in order to win a BFL SC Single. There's also a raffle incentive if she wins. She's looking for views, but I looking to everyone that "Lady Miners" do exist and they are every bit as unorganized and hilarious (duct tape, a piece of wood holding up a milk crate filled with GPUS?!) as the rest of us. Hilarious. (no offense Ada)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On0r-7XGf0U

For those of you who are hardcore and want an extra challenge, I'll send 1 BTC to the first 5 people who can correctly guess the number / type of each GPU shown. 1 entry per user. G'Luck!
Wow and cool but I hope the running on the treadmill does not cause sweat flying off hitting the gear Smiley.

Ha, I'll ask if that's an issue.

<edit> Its used for walking and speedwalking while computing. No running. No water damage so far.

Does anyone else have exercise equipment hooked up to their gear?

actually i've been meaning to look into the numbers of what kind of power this could generate, mostly just for the laugh factor, but any "free" electricty + getting me to excercise is very welcome. i've put it off on the assumption it's pointless/expensive. (batteries, generator, etc)

i don't post much, but this space for rent.

I can only observe advantages in this setup:
  • Environment friendly
  • The kids make exercise
  • The kids learn the true cost of things!

Cheesy

I'd also connect a fan, or some water cooling solution to bring down the kid's temperature!

That's great.

I've thought about something like that too. Unfortunately, I am missing the child component.

I'd ask them about the fan first, they might not have enough energy to afford to power it.

Just give them two spoons of sugar and grab a pair of seatbelts to hold them in place!!! Cheesy

There's 2 arduinos running various crap for remote monitoring via some nRF wireless modules to a homebase device in teh lounge room and a stellaris launchpad does some other stuff Tongue

Great job!
I'm considering using Launchpad to control fans and a servo to open and close some openings on the sides in case it is needed much more airflow.
Perhaps some other monitoring also, don't know yet!

Thanks mate, The stellaris launchpads are powerful devices and cheap too! Pity they are a little more complex and unlike the Arduino - the community is still small and instead of googling what you want to build you actually have to think Tongue (which isn't so bad)
