Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Hi,

I´m getting a lot of Discarded Shares and only few accepted with cgminer so I was thinking to install BFGminer in my Antminer S3.
I´m using the NiceHash Pools and they seem to be incompatible with the cgminer.  (I tested Slushpool and the rate of Accepted Shares is like 10 per min.. A LOT BETTER)
In the NiceHash site there is info to configure cgminer but they suggest to use bfgminer...

Can BFGminer be the fix of my issue? Is it possible to install the openwrt version in the Antminer S3? Can I damage my Hardware?

Most of those one-stop solutions will steal any bits you get. Even the so-called "front ends" for BFGMiner and CGMiner are bogus. Learn to use BFG Miner.

I suppose it's fake, Mining to a regular laptop or computer cannot be done these days. You need to build a rig first or invest to a mining hardware to be able to mine. You'll be wasting your time in doing so.

I used BFGMiner to mine Bitcoin. Sorry, but I can't help with other coins. You are going to have to search the forums for specifics on XVG.

Is BFGMiner 5.4.2 available for Ubuntu 16.04 users?
I have a new install of Ubuntu 16.04.
Bitcoin Core 15.1
BFGMiner 5.2.0
I am trying to upgrade to 5.4.2 to see if will resolve an issue and when I use the command
apt-get install bfgminer
it says I am already at the latest version 5.2.0. I installed it only a week ago.
How do I get upgraded to 5.4.2 if it is available for Ubuntu?

Confession: I am a newly convert to Linux so go easy on me.

more instrutions for the clueless would be nice I had a problem with bfgminer-5.4.2-win64 with it marking 2 of my Eruptors as Dead this morning I came to the conclution that the Serial Driver might be the cause So I installed https://www.silabs.com/products/development-tools/software/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers Win64 driver for Win10 I have version 1709 is this the problem Is my version too old??? I reloaded the Win10 Genaric and it works now but I still get a COM5 Error not enough Admin privlages which is BS I own the hardware.I niticed they are all set to 9600BAUD is this another error communication speed should be much higher right I did try setting it as high as my 3D printer communication rates this is when the driver crashed and I had to reinstill.... so Do you leve this com rate at 9600Baud???

I am solo mining with Ubuntu 16, Bitcoin Core 15, BFGminer 5.4.2-29, Antminer S3.
BFGminer is requesting a new block be created by the Bitcoin core every minute like clockwork.
Is this expected behavior?
This seems to be excess work being placed on the core for no reason.
Is there a startup flag for BFGminer to control this?

Bitcoin debug.log

It seems the sequence of events should be...
- A completed block arrives in the Bitcoin core from one of the peers.
- Bitcoin Core notifies BFGminer of this blocks arrival.
- BFGminer sends a request to the core to create a new block from the available transaction in the Mem pool. “CreateNewBlock”
- Bitcoin core passes the new block to BFGminer, who then distributes the header out to the miners.

It seems that a “CreateNewBlock” would only occur when it is needed after a completed block has arrived. Can anyone shed some light on this process? Thanks.

The below log shows a new block being created every minute on the 35 second mark with the fees increasing, until the completed block 502417 arrives in the Core from a peer node at 20:10:12.
A new block is then created that very same second and I assume passed to BFGminer, with a much lower fee than the one created 37 seconds prior.
It seems that all the prior blocks being created, just in case they are needed, are trumped by this new block created just after a completed block arrives.
Why is it such a lower fee? I suspect because when the completed block arrived, the Bitcoin Core removed all the transactions used in that completed block from the Mem pool of available transactions. Pretty much making all prior blocks created for BFGminer invalid as some of those transactions may have been in this newly completed block.

It seems to me that you shouldn’t create a new block until after the current completed block has arrived and the Mem pool has been updated with available transactions.

As I understand it, the current scrypt maintainer has  his own mining hardware, so probably isn't interested in supporting competitors.
So you'd need to find someone willing to write and maintain a new driver for it, and probably Innosilicon would need to provide at least specs of some sort (and ideally sample hardware).

nwoolls (who used to maintain BFGMiner's scrypt drivers) has been MIA for a year or so, but maybe if you PM him on the  forum, he might get an email and be interested?
