1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Technology is Changing Sports Betting on: August 14, 2023, 06:46:30 PM

Eventually, AI will get so advanced that an artificial intelligence program should allow sports bettors to quickly identify bets with the highest probabilities of scoring wins.

I think that technology already exists. As far as to how accurate it is, I have no idea.

But if you think about it logically, if everyone would be using the same Artificial Intelligence tools to get ahead, then does anyone actually gain an advantage? I think the given odds will reflect this. If technology becomes more advanced, the less profitable sport betting will become.

Personally I am not a fan of using AI when it comes to betting or trading. The reason is very simple: AI will never be able to out-do the human mind and furthermore, gambling in such a fashion is absolutely no fun.
1002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has nothing to do with crime on: August 14, 2023, 03:35:08 AM
Because of bitcoin does not give public details of people who make transaction with it, some people do say it promote crime. People needs to understand one of the features of bitcoin is freedom that anybody can get access to it, it does not discriminate.  The privacy features of bitcoin is very important to humanity,  which I know one of its advantage is for safety by using cryptography that makes all transactions safe and encrypted.

Privacy in transactions of bitcoin is much important,  if their was no privacy it would have cause several criminal attacks.  For those who think bitcoin encourages crime because of hiding  public data of users don't understand the importance of bitcoin being private.  Before bitcoin  started  existing monetary crime have been existing.  Bitcoin is not a reason for monetary crime,  bitcoin is just for everyone and does not discriminate but accept everyone.

People seem to confuse the word privacy with the word anonymous. Bitcoin is private, but not anonymous. If criminals wanted to stay anonymous, they would not use a money which is based on a system of public ledger. They would use a coin like Monero, or an even more anonymous money: fiat. That's right, paper cash is the preferred choice for criminals. I guess that is why politicians love fiat so much.  Grin

With Bitcoin, or even Monero, people have to buy it through a centralized platform (cryptocurrency exchange website), which not only demands your identity information but also gives the government data about your transactions. It is possible to buy coins anonymously but why go through the trouble when a easily corruptible and untraceable money like fiat exists?

The only people who like to equate Bitcoin with criminal money are the ones who are bitter about losing control over peoples money. Because that is the main point of Bitcoin: To give the people full control over their money. So that nobody, not even the government, can take their money away from them.
1003  Economy / Gambling / Re: HIT A JACKPOT on BITCASINO.IO - WILL I BE PAID? MY JOURNEY HERE. on: August 14, 2023, 03:20:50 AM
Congratulations to OP for his amazing, life-changing win! I must say, I am a bit envious! But in a good way Cheesy

I really hope you get your winnings soon! Please do not forget to inform us when you get it!

Do tell us, what are you planning on doing with your newfound riches?

The OP has an evidence for winningthat huge jackpot price on hacksaw gaming that makes him finish the requirements in huge profit. I don't see any reason here for his profit will hold due to his proof of winnings on slot.

A good gambling site will never stop or delay the withdrawals to their customers, however, the scammed ones may be looking to find several excuses for not letting them to pay the gambler.

Thank you guys for all the kind words!

Still no update tho.
No email, no ask to KYC , just withdrawl is still on pending. Will keep you all updated

I would say that you will be lucky if you will be able to cash out this amount without the site demanding the KYC.

By the way, once you get the withdrawal, share with us the withdrawal successful screenshot from BitCasino.

Obviously with winnings that large, the casino needs to triple check who they are giving the money to. If they don't do that then they will be in very very big trouble with the law, as this could mean they violated the AML laws. Worst case scenario, they could be accused of funding terrorists or something.

As long as OP does KYC and everything checks out fine, he should obviously receive his winnings.
1004  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Would you use AI trading assisting tools? on: August 14, 2023, 03:12:50 AM
Increased adoption of crypto has given way to more investors and traders trooping into the space to explore the vast opportunities. While crypto trading may be lucrative, only a few section of traders record significant profit consistently, largely because of the ambiguous nature of analysing charts and keeping tabs on cryptocurrencies.

In recent times we’ve seen traders opt for different trading tools and bots to raise their efficiencies and maximise their profits, but are they really effective compared to self-trading? I recently got wind of Aimbot as Bitget announced its listing, seeing it is one of those projects that promises to aid traders achieve improved results I decided to research and learn from the more experienced traders if they’ve researched this project, and their bias on AI trading assisting tools like this one.

AI is a fancy algorithm. That is it, really. It is not real human intelligence, it just mimics human intelligence. Why would I want to trust something like that with my money? And if it was as profitable as some people imagine, where are all the AI-trading billionaires?

From my own subjective point of view, for the maximum profits, there is no best software to look after your trades, but rather you should be trusting your wetware (Brain) to do that for you.

Sure there might be AI tools which are helpful and maybe even generate a steady small profit over time, but the human brain is something that will beat that AI every time. I do agree that not everyone wants to learn how to trade or spend their time on trading, so those kind of people might be the ones who see such tools as most helpful.
1005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: August 13, 2023, 06:01:32 PM

Canelo Alvarez’s next fight had been rumoured to be Jermall Charlo, but instead it is twin brother Jermell Charlo facing the Mexican on September 30; Canelo is the undisputed world champion at super-middleweight, with Jermell jumping up two weight divisions from super-welterweight

https://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/12912747/canelo-alvarez-to-face-jermell-charlo-in-undisputed-las-vegas-showdown-on-september-30

If anybody sees odds for the fight please share in the thread.

Thanks.

Mike Tyson himself had something to say about this fight. He seems to believe that Jermall Charlo is going to lose this fight and that Canelo Alvarez will easily beat him, without much of a struggle. Charlo said "Mike Tyson is Mike Tyson — he could say whatever he wants". But I think that the winner is going to be obvious here and Mike, with his years of expert experience, saw it coming. Sure Charlo had a good rise from his weight division but he is still not ready for Alvarez. Ambition combined with pure and unadulterated willpower alone cannot win fights for very long.

I guess we don't need to be a Mike Tyson so see who is going to win this fight. I mean, Charlo is good at 154 lbs, but this is a totally different league for him at 168 lbs and this is the best weight class for Canelo Alvarez.

14 lbs is too huge of a difference.  A tough 168 lbs fighting a  154 lbs even if this 154 lbs is a heavy hitter does not need any special ability to see who is at the advantage.  Even if we consider Charlo's punching power is devastating at 154 lbs, he is fighting a tough opponent that can absorb heavy punches from light heavyweight opponent.  And they are fighting at the most comfortable division of Canelo.  So almost all odds are against Charlo.  Even speed is against Charlo on this because adding more weight will hamper is agility.

Might be more reasonable if this bout is catchweight but it isn't and that will really give Canelo an advantage in this fight because Jermell will have to face a lot of difficulties before he can reach Canelo's division and after that it's not yet over because he then will have to face a natural 168 lbs. boxer which is an added difficulty to him. Not sure how would this fight go for him but I know that it will always favor Canelo without a doubt.

I doubt that Canelo can go lower than 168 lbs though if they go for a catchweight. It will be draining for him as he is used to his weight and as we all know what when we grow older, we are bound to really gain weight so I don't think that catchweight is possible here.

So it's on Jermell side to really accept the fight or not. And in this case he is willing to go up in weight so we can say that the weight could not be an issue.

And it's interesting what I read that Canelo is targeting the twins, it was supposedly Jermall in this fight but his 154 lbs twin Jermell step up and take his spot. But if Canelo wins, it is said that he is going to fight Jermall the 160 lbs champion at 168 lbs.

The fact that this bout already materialized means that Charlo is eager and confident enough to go up in weight and skip some weight class just to fight Canelo at the latter's own dominant weight class. Not sure what he thinks by the way because I don't see any reasons why should I side him on this path or bet with him because he even pursued this fight without having any warm up for his inactivity.

For me, this is just a money fight and Charlo was already tired waiting for someone that can give him a competitive paycheck that is why he is now going to fight Canelo at 168 even if it that will mean that he will be stripped of his WBO or is it WBC and a possible lose as well.

Yes, and sometimes it's going to be an excuse if they lost because of weight issues like rehydration clause by the camp of Tank Davis vs Ryan Garcia or even Spence who says that 147 lbs for him doesn't feel right.

But in this case it's very different, but still though, maybe in the end Charlo will say that it's too much for him to jump 2 weight class. But he has agreed with the terms though so hopefully there will be no excuses after he lost the fight here.

I totally think that Charlo has the disadvantage of weight class here. 14 pounds is way too big a difference and that will obviously be one of the main reasons why Charlo will go down. Although if they were both in the same weight class, then I might even give Charlo the benefit of the doubt and say that he could take Canelo, just from looking at his fierce fighting history. If he was smart enough to admit that then he would not go for such an unbalanced fight. But I think that Charlo might be a bit stubborn, so I doubt he will admit that he is biting too far above his weight class.

His naivety or arrogance is what I am going to be counting on. Easy bet.
Although I doubt that Charlo will be making pathetic excuses if he even were to lose.
1006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's safe to say - gambling is a guy thing. on: August 12, 2023, 03:29:31 PM
Hey y'all...Seriously, I've been having this running through my mind.. maybe it's been discussed but this is on a diverse objective.
Why is it that we tend to have alot of men inclined and addicted to gambling than women? Is there any mystery guiding that?
I mean, You ain't gonna telme that everyone isn't roofed by this economic crises - both gender to speak of - so what's so special about men gambling?? Alot of cases has been reported several times too - and y'all end up realizing that MEN are usually involved in very many critical cases... What's that validating? That men are really taking the whole thing personal??

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

It has to do with our biological evolution. Women are risk-adverse while men are completely the opposite. And this is a good thing too, since women had children and if they were to do risky things, they would not have survived for a long time. In fact, our species may have gone instinct, in such a case. So while we men no longer have to hunt and fight dangerous animals in order to provide for our families, the risky side still remains and shows itself in the form of other risky behaviors, such as gambling. So unless I am completely off, that is the reason why men gamble more than women.
1007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is centralized, will it still have value ? on: August 12, 2023, 03:16:33 PM
Bitcoin value is tied to it's decentralized nature and the principle it was founded. if Bitcoin were to become centralized, it would likely have a significant impact on its value. the decentralized nature of Bitcoin is a key factor in it's value. Bitcoin decentralization have contributed to it scarcity and security. all of this which are factors that influence it's value.

if Bitcoin were to become centralized, it could raise concerns about the control, and the investors might loss confidence in it's ability to remain a reliable store of value and a medium of exchange. centralization could also make it suspicious to government regulation and restrictions, which could further impact on it's value.

in conclusion, Bitcoin value is derived from its decentralized nature, which is closely with it's ideal, and any move towards centralization could fundamentally alter it's core and diminish it's value proposition.

If Bitcoin were to become centralized, in any way or fashion, it would instantly become just as worthless as fiat. Albeit a fiat which is more advanced and better than the current fiat. But it would still become worthless, at least in my eyes. The very point of Bitcoin is to be decentralized money, otherwise we are back at where we started at and not only would it be centralized, it would be a tool of control and Surveillance. Nobody would accept that.

1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sudden Wealth Syndrome (SWS) In Gambling on: August 11, 2023, 08:00:09 PM
I have my doubts of whether or not Sudden Wealth Syndrome actually exists or whether it is just a thinly veiled excuse for people who make bad financial decisions. I mean, if you win 1 million usd, are you going to spend it all on partying or will you invest that into different investments? The answer should be clear to anyone with a clear mind. Of course there do exist some people who rather than saving or investing the money would rather give it all away. And that is fine as well, as long as they do not complain later. Some people do not care about being rich or having money.

But those kind of people are very rare.
1010  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need help with Bittrex KYC on: August 11, 2023, 07:49:23 PM
Hello!

Bittrex wrote me a mail they are bankrupt and I should withdraw my coins.
It's not much. They wrote me it's totalling 105 $. Mostly stuff I collected from faucets back in the day where they were not yet banned by google.
However, I cannot get this bittrex KYC thing to work. Their support does not respond to the zendesk ticket.
I need a good soul to access that account for me to withdraw the few coins before they move into the pocket of the US government.
Anyone out there able to use Bittrex and willing to help me out in that matter please write a PM.

I am able to use Bittrex and I would be more than willing to help withdraw your coins for you but if the problem is that Bittrex is demanding KYC and not allowing you to withdraw without it, then that is not something that I can help you with. You will have to do the KYC procedure yourself. And yes, KYC procedures can take a long time, especially with exchanges that are having money troubles.

This is also the reason why everyone on this forum is screaming "DO NOT LEAVE YOUR COINS ON DECENTRALIZED PLATFORMS LIKE EXCHANGES". But I guess that advice is too late for you...

Did they deactivate your account until you do KYC? Because in that case, nobody can access your account as it currently stands.
1011  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hacker attacks again on: August 10, 2023, 04:01:04 PM
Now, let's have an update about the curve finance. recently it had an issue where a hacker entered it and it happened on July 30, 2023. So what Curve did was they offered the hacker to return its fund and they will give 10% bounty rewards. And it will not be charged or imprisoned. The offer was accepted and the stolen assets were returned. But the hacker did not complete its full refund from other pools.

Because it has a deadline now it has passed. Now the rewards are offered just to identify the attackers. Also, what do you think is the reason and why did the hacker return the funds to another protocol? he said
Quote
He doesn't want to ruin the project.
and that's not the reason he's afraid of being identified.

Because it seems that what the hacker wants to release or make him look like is that the authorities cannot identify him. Let's see what happens here, because we know that the hacker is not invincible because there are and still are others caught. What happened to the Bitfinex hacker even after a long time was still caught. But if it turns out that a north Korwan hacker was able to access curve finance, it is unlikely to be recovered for sure.

Source: https://m.investing.com/news/cryptocurrency-news/curve-finance-opens-bounty-after-exploiters-return-deadline-expires-3146166

It sounds like to me that the hacker realized that he made some sort of mistake and sooner or later he would be caught, therefore if he returned the money, perhaps the investigations against him would halt. I don't think that is how the law works. He is still going to be investigated. And as I said, there is no such thing as never getting caught. Sooner or later everyone slips up and makes mistakes that they cannot undo.

I do not buy his excuse of "not wanting to ruin the project". He knew exactly what he was doing and what damage it would have. There is no use in pretending to be a decent human being now.
1012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Collective bets in local lotteries on: August 10, 2023, 03:47:06 PM
Would like to know your takes on betting as a group to raise chances in local
Lotteries

I know that mathematically the chances are still really low even if you multiply it 100x but in Brazil at least we’ve seen some local lottery prizes given for small groups of 20 or 30 people betting betting with 5000x tickets let’s say

If dreaming alone is cool dreaming in groups can be even better

You should be careful. You might find that the group might turn against you if they lose. Because you will have given them someone to blame their loss on. They might even demand you repay them because you tempted them into gambling in the first place, or some other thinly veiled excuse. I would not risk it, if I were you. Its the perfect plan for a future headache which you could easily avoid. Of course that is only if you make a group by yourself or declare yourself the leader of such a group. Joining such a group seems fine to me, but the odds are still teeny tiny.
1013  Economy / Gambling / Re: BK8 - Biggest and Most Trusted Brand. Asia's #1 Crypto online casino BTC & USDT on: August 10, 2023, 03:35:58 PM
~snip

Casino going bankrupt? that can't be happening mate, the house always wins. Remember that the casino implements the RTP system, it's from there that everything flows from operational costs to player winnings. So there's no way a casino will go bankrupt because they only use the money their users have.

Why is a casino going bankrupt so hard to imagine? It can and does sometimes happen. But usually this is because of the way the casino business was being mishandled, either because of pure greed of pure incompetence. Although sometimes it can be due to money issues. Either way, it can happen. A casino is not a safe haven for business. Every business has its risks and all of them can go bankrupt.

I imagine if a billionaire were to play on a small, new casino with a lack of funds then he could easily screw the casino over by winning too much. But any good casino owner should know how to take precaution against such an event.
1014  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A nob in trading needs help on: August 09, 2023, 11:41:43 PM
At this level, I am well informed about Bitcoin and its securities, I have read on the forum how Bitcoin and cryptocurrency trading has changed people's lives, and I am kind of interested in acquiring skills, I have read in many other threads on how risky Bitcoin trading is.

But at this point, I will really like to know whether or not Bitcoin trading is a means to gain profits during market speculations, and how possible it is to make passive income through cryptocurrency trading.

If you are a seasoned trader, then sure go ahead. But if you have little to no experience, your best bet is to hodl for the long term. Since you seem to be the latter, I think you should stay away from trading until you learn the basics and have practiced a little bit. Or better yet, practice a lot.

There are testnets with which you can try out Bitcoin and also there are some which simulate trading Bitcoin on a centralized exchange.

You can try out trading strategies without losing any money. One testnet that I could wholeheartedly recommend would be Deribit testnet. I think you can even test out derivatives and options.
1015  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Technical analysis a must know in crypto trading? on: August 09, 2023, 08:34:22 PM
Hello everyone am new here, more like a trader that got by with a bit of knowledge through personal experience (success and failure's) since 2020 but got introduced to this forum by a friend, pointing out that I can find information's and be able to communicate with other enthusiast in the crypto market. I look forward to my experience here.
P.S I have really poor knowledge on bitcoin technicalities, am more of the chart reading and gut feeling type. so I hope am not breaking any of the rules posting here.
Was really curious to understand if technical analysis is vital or just a means to reduce risk. Thanks in advance

As a veteran trader, I would say that technical analysis as well as fundamental analysis are quite important if you want to increase your probability for predicting market action. There is no "best place to learn" but rather you should do a lot of self-research. AKA Google a lot. Do not trust Telegram/Discord/Youtube/Tiktok etc. groups.

There is not much to learn. Technical analysis is basically the interpretation of what candlesticks and candlestick patterns represent as well as the tools used for interpreting the candlesticks. As far as fundamental analysis goes, as long as you keep yourself up-to-date on the news and going-on's in the crypto world, you should be more than fine.

Websites I recommend: Tradingview for crypto TA and Coindesk or Cointelegraph for crypto news.

Welcome to Bitcointalk.

I see that your casino website introduction thread is quite short and not very detailed. If you were to maximize your marketing efforts and be more active in the Bitcointalk community I think that you would have many more people visiting your casino.

Also on your website I see the statement "FLIP your coins into cash!".

That might seem a bit offensive to everyone here since we see cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin, as the superior money.

Hope to see you around a bit more often! Have a great time and good luck!
1017  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet verification stuck for more than 1 week on: August 09, 2023, 01:42:58 PM
The best that you can do as a gambler is to get your account verified before you deposit anything at all. Many people have this issue of verification after they deposit money.

^ Exactly this.

Everyone should follow the advice of first verifying your account BEFORE you deposit any money into it. There are always risks with unverified accounts. Because they have not done the KYC procedure, they are treated all equally suspiciously even if they have done nothing wrong and have not gone against the terms and conditions of the online casino website.

And verification processes can take a very long time. Sometimes this is due to unusual account activity like using a VPN or making strange bets (like with an automated bot). But sometimes it takes long for no good reason.
1018  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: binance vs decentralized exchange on: August 08, 2023, 10:10:01 PM
The only negative I see about decentralized exchanges is that the cost of trading is much higher. Each swap costs way more than orders on centralized cryptocurrency exchanges. So if you are a daytrader, you might find it difficult to pay 1% fees on each trade. So that makes it unfeasable, for now. But perhaps someone knows of a solution of trading on DeFi with low costs? Someone here also mentioned that DeFi can be hacked: Of course both DeFi and CeFi platforms can be hacked. So there is no reason to believe that a centralized exchange cannot be hacked.

1019  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: August 08, 2023, 09:18:49 PM
We live in a society where people have different views about something and these views could be drawn based on different constituent like personal sentiment, religion, ideology and experience. And speaking of gamble there are those that view it as an irresponsible activity to embark on and whoever is into it is tag as irresponsible guy, for some it beyond being irresponsible but a sin something that is evil,  while some others out of an ugly experience of a loved one that got ruined by it due to extreme addiction.

These factors has made a number of gamblers to keep their gambling habit a secret doing all they could not to let friends and family  know they gamble. And it does seem like they ain't proud of what they're doing.

But why continue in what you're not proud of by keeping it secret cause maybe you're worried about what people may say, how their thoughts about your person might change. Or how you might loose ties with someone you hold dear to. And many other reasons that follows.

Those that keep their gambling habit a secret is it that they're not proud of what they are doing?.

I do not think that it is as easy as you say to simply keep your gambling habit a secret. Unless you live completely alone and have no family and friends. But even then it seems to me that eventually someone will take notice, as it is no simple feat to stay invisible in our heavily populated world.

And furthermore, it is no good to keep your habits a secret because we as humans need feedback, whether or not our behaviors are damaging to ourselves or someone else. If you were to develop and addiction, it would be good for someone to identify it for you. Because you yourself will probably not be able to tell that you have a problem. You need an outsider's perspective.
1020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 08, 2023, 08:57:26 PM
If you are onto gambling for the first time it's not possible to get addicted to gambling because you haven't tasted what winning feels like, you will be consumed by doubts and uncertainty.

But wait till you have a taste, win some money, that's where you start feeling like there is more if you keep digging, is this not where gambling addiction starts?

We have had a lot of conversations about gambling addiction, but I had the same conversation with someone close yesterday and this was my answer to him.

Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

I think addiction starts after you win, even if it's just once, that's when you start gambling recklessly and you also start betting higher.

Coming from my own personal experience in gambling, I would think that you are completely right. Once a person tastes victory, winning somehow becomes not only an addictive feeling but also a kind of motivation to keep going. As if the win has somehow shifted your luck and now you will be likely to win even more. This is of course a lie that we tell ourselves, but it is very tempting to believe in it. The bigger and more often you win, the more you seem to feel invincible, as if there is no such thing as bad luck for you anymore...

Its important to have self-discipline and a cost/profit plan. Otherwise you just keep gambling until you lose everything.
