1241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: June 01, 2023, 09:10:24 PM
If a gambler spends a lot of time in a casino, it would be hard for him not to dream of winning. After all, he has already put a lot of money and emotion into the games. Stopping dreaming about luck and big money is a difficult task, but doable. The gambler needs to have the patience and tenacity to stop building dreams around gambling.

Of course, this advice is correct, but what makes a player play? What drives him? The desire to get as much andrenaline as possible. So how do you keep the excitement in check? It is very difficult. The main thing - do not give the player the opportunity to take a big credit, otherwise, when sobering up, the situation may already be irreparable

Not to mention the fact that everytime a person gambles and wins, their brain gets a dopamine buzz. Dopamine overstimulation of the brains dopamine receptors is what causes addiction. Everytime you win, you feel a rush because you brain now associates the act of gambling with a reward itself. This is why its so important to self discipline yourself and also make a strategy/plan. Make sure you know what you are doing and also limit yourself in how much money you will spend in a certain amount of time. As long as you come prepared into a casino, you will not necessarily fall into the gambling addiction trap.
1242  Economy / Gambling / Re: Are betting companies using T&C against their customers on: June 01, 2023, 05:41:25 PM
It is already becoming  increasingly worrisome, maybe not to everyone but personally to me at the rate at which betting companies are using terms and conditions  against their customers and there a recent case with the link below
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5454460.msg62324285#msg62324285
Most times i think since most users don't take out time to read the terms and conditions of platform before jumping on it, most betting companies  steal money from their customers with claims that they broke their terms and conditions and the case with the link above annoyed me so much because I felt the support term wasn't helpful enough as I was expecting  them to point out the T&C that was broken to the player rather than just lock his account and seize his money.

Now I wish to know if these companies  play on the weakness of their customers using T&C to rob them and has anyone else experienced  this ?

Terms and Conditions are legal requirements as well as what must be stated in them. I do not think that the betting companies/Casinos are trying to dupe us over with a piece of writing which was imposed on them by the regulatory branch of the government. I am not going to say that they would not try to leech our money out of us in any way possible, no matter how questionable the intentions are.

But business is business. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
1243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance to delist these 12 privacy coins in these eu countries from June 26 on: June 01, 2023, 03:27:17 PM
There are other, decentralized ways to trade XMR. The delisting will not work. Perhaps on the smaller, unpopular and copycat privacy coins. But really? No need to worry. This is going to push crypto more towards full decentralization and self-autonomy. This is a good thing. At some point, when Bitcoin has become fully adopted by people of all places, Blockchain will be considered the third generation of money technology. And the government will have no say but rather just have to sit and watch its people drop banks and third partys who made their profits from exploiting fiat's weaknesses. Fiat is a centralized piece of paper which supposedly stores value, even though it is not backed by anything of value(gold) anymore and they can keep printing as many strips of paper as they want. 1244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Behavioural signs that suggest you are Addicted to Gambling on: June 01, 2023, 03:50:04 AM
I was browsing on the internet and stumble upon this article and found out that there are three kinds of gamblers. They are Professional gamblres, social gamblers and problem gamblers. The first two are okay but the third one which is the problem gamblers are the ones who are struggling with this addiction.

So I asked myself what behaviour would suggest that an individual is a problem gambler. Did some research and found many behaviour that suggest an individual is struggling with gambling addiction. Out of those I found the following five behaviours to be most common ones in a problem gambler.

  • Preoccupation with gambling.
  • The urge to increase wagers to achieve the same level of excitement.
  • Having difficulty in controlling, cutting back, or stopping gambling despite several attempts.
  • Lying about gambling activities.
  • Borrowing money to gamble.

As gambling addiction can be a challenging issue that can have a very harmful impact on an individual's life. it is always recommended to find a professional helpb rather struggling with it. Do you agree with those behaviours? If not then you can suggest some, that can be added to this topic.

Borrowing money and preoccupation with gambling are the top two red flags.

I also heard that gambling addiction could show itself as a manifestation of anxiety and irritation. So if the person jumps down your throat every time you say anything to them, then that could mean that person has an addiction. Although many addictions have the same physical symptoms, so judging people only by their behavior might be a mistake and could end up in you misjudging people.
1245  Economy / Economics / Re: Dedollarization is here, like it or not on: June 01, 2023, 12:14:20 AM
The main effect this is having on the world is the further adoption of Bitcoin. Once people understand that their USD is becoming worthless, they will trade it in for Bitcoin. Time and time again, Bitcoin has proven itself as an amazing hedge against all kinds of inflation. Whether by nature manipulated or not.

I see this as an amazing opportunity. Anyone who is investing into Bitcoin now is going to wish they bought even more.

Once the whole CBDC timeline flops, as it will, because it goes against everything Blockchain stands for, then and only then will people start understanding how important a decentralized and unregulatable store of value actually is, in reality.

This is the best time for Hodlers.
1246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a steady income haven on: May 31, 2023, 10:48:44 PM
That's if you are not even addicted to gambling already, a addicted gambler always have one goal in mind, '( I have to make back all I have lost ), this is where the beginning of the end begins.

The entire premise of making a regular, steady income from gambling is complete nonsense. It is mathematically impossible to do that. The house edge always wins and there is no point in arguing such a fact. Of course anyone could become a millionaire overnight but how often does that happen?

Gambling is only a problem if you let yourself become addicted. There are many ways to avoid getting addicted, all you have to do is self-discipline yourself and make a strategy. If you say only an x amount of money should be gambled per day, then do not go above your limits and know when to quit.

If you gamble without a plan, all you are doing is setting yourself up for emotional accidents.
1247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: increased Youtube Gambling ads? on: May 31, 2023, 09:59:42 PM
I'm asking out of curiosity, are you guys experiencing a surge of gambling ads on youtube videos lately? this past week I've experienced an increased encounter of gambling ads on videos I watch on youtube. it's not that it bothers me, I am just surprised because I don't remember getting this many gambling ads on youtube videos in the past, but this past week, I usually get a gambling ad from 2-3 out of 5 videos I watch(it's just an estimation because of how often I get the ads). I don't know if it is because I recently watched several videos of streamers gambling or it's just a coincidence, I've watched streamers gambling videos in the past but I have never gotten this many gambling ads.

Yeah, I would agree about the surge. But I see more gambling ads everywhere and anywhere. Not only just Youtube. I guess we are just going to have to find a way to live in this world filled with tracking advertisements and data collection by AI means. I do not think that there is anything we can do against it, as long as we live in a free market. You should try using anti-ad apps like uBlock Origin. Also you can use a search engine that does not collect data from you (Google does it). You can also use a VPN, which will is not a method to fight against ads but rather you will not be psychologically profiled and targeted. You will probably only see random ads with a VPN. As long as you are careful with your data.

1248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is digital currency powerful? on: May 31, 2023, 08:53:41 PM
Compared to fiat currency, Digital currencies are very powerful in-terms of control. You can control your own coin. There is no interference from the government, no one can rob it or counterfeit it. You can use it globally and expand your business internationally. I don't find anything more powerful than this! what is your thoughts on it !

No interference? The governments are doing all they can to slow down Bitcoin adoption, on behalf of the banks, of course... A money that does not require a third party to store and secure it? Thats unacceptable to them. The government wants to control our money and the banks want demand arbitrary fees for holding on to our money. This old system needs to be overhauled.

And blockchain is an unstoppable, unregulatable and unchained technology. Ironically named Blockchain Roll Eyes
1249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today I Have Shared About The Benefits Of Bitcoin With My Friends on: May 31, 2023, 07:43:43 PM
It's really very necessary to know by our relatives about Bitcoin because I believe that we all know about Bitcoin and it's usecases. So it's our duty to teach about Cryptocurrencies specially Bitcoin so that they can also use it and be a part of this Digital Currency. In this purpose Today I have shared with some of my close departmental Friend's about Bitcoin and the benefits of it. I have tried as much as I can because I think they should be familiar with this gem and the future of currency system. I have shared some points about Bitcoin. They are :

1. Bitcoin Is Decentralized: I have shared with them that is is a decentralized cryptocurrency which is transferred from Peer to Peer. There is no middle man in Bitcoin transection and it's fully Safe. If you use non custodial wallet then your funds have no access without you.

2. Anonymous Transection: Every Bitcoin transection are normally fast and anonymous. It's very secured also. No need to submit personal or sensitive details at all. It has a limited supply which is 21 Million only. So day by day it's price and demand will increase because no new Bitcoin can be created.

3. Can Gain Huge Returs : I have also shared that you can make huge profits by buying and holding it. But you have to buy when it's price is cheap and it's very easy to use. You just need to have an internet connection only which may be a limitations too. I also told about it's volatility but assured them if you buy at cheap at the end of the day you will win surely.

I tried to teach them the trust about Bitcoin and they are really excited to learn more and some of them promised me that soon they will be a part of this Digital Currency though the amount is low.
I just welcomed them and I am also trying to teach about Bitcoin with my family soon.
I think we should teach our friends families and neighbors about the Cryptocurrencies specially Bitcoin. So that they can use it and be an early adopter.

Edit: I told them that the total Bitcoin is only 21 Million and no Bitcoin can be created so the total Bitcoin is limited. So day by day people are involving and filling their bags and also because of its usecases day by day the demand of Btc will increase. And also told that will be more beneficial financially if they can inter in the market at right time. They also agreed with me.

I would have to disagree with the premise of anonymity. Bitcoin is only anonymous as long as nobody can connect your transaction with your actual identity or your personal IP address. Once somebody knows where the Bitcoin goes (Everybody knows, since Bitcoin transactions are on a public ledger) then its only a matter of finding out who is sending or receiving the coin. If you pay/buy/sell/loan Bitcoin, you need to make sure that anything that can be used to trace your coin to you, will be used as such, in case someone wants to look for you.

Fiat is much more anonymous than Bitcoin and therefore much more suited to criminal activities. Bitcoin is transparent and public.
1250  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: May 31, 2023, 07:35:27 PM
As we know, many gambling sites have Kyc requirements when making withdrawals. Some people may not have a problem with this condition, but some people think differently about doing Kyc. Some people refuse to fill in their Kyc data for fear of being misused. That's a natural thing, but is the worry too much?

Kyc actually has a function to prevent dangerous actions, such as money laundering. In addition, Kyc can also protect customers from account breakers.

Now there are several gambling sites that do not require Kyc to withdraw funds. That's good news. But I don't know if big money withdrawal need Kyc or not. I've never withdrawn much money.

Are you one of those who agree or refuse to fill out kyc on gambling sites? So far, the Kyc that you have filled in on the gambling site is safe? I've never had a problem with the Kyc that I filled out at the gambling site. Have you ever felt cheated from Kyc submitted?

No. Submitting KYC is never 100% safe. Even if the platform is extremely trustworthy.

All that data is stored, therefore it can be hacked and recovered by bad actors.

While I completely understand and sympathize with the regulatory and legal situation which is being forced upon centralized platforms like online gambling crypt casinos or crypto exchanges, I am absolutely against the very notion of KYC.

A few hackers is all it takes and that data goes into the dark web, where people will use your identity to cause you financial and social damage beyond repair. Identity thieves know how to use your data to make money and they do not care about anything.

1251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 77% into the next Bitcoin halving on: May 31, 2023, 05:40:58 PM

Chart Source: https://charts.bitbo.io/halving-progress/
Real time Bitcoin halving progress shows that we are already 77% into the next Bitcoin halving. My friends are excited and have already started stacking up more Bitcoin in optimistic anticipation that when the price increases as has been predicted already that they will be able to take profits or their return on investment would be 150%. But then, no one truly knows if the price would increase or not. With the current nature of the cryptocurrency market where competition is stiff between Bitcoin and other top cryptocurrency no one knows if the demand for Bitcoin would increase which in turns increases the price. No one knows if there would be some crazy regulations somewhere that would affect the price. No one knows if some crypto firm that is already over leveraged would declare bankruptcy within that time and then Bitcoin's price doesn't rise more than 5%. We are all acting in good faith that everything would run smoothly, we'd take profits and everyone is happy in the end.

This sounds so pessimistic but haven't you thought about it like this too? The what ifs and what if nots?

The chart is very accurate. We are currently at the bear the bottom of the next pump. Anyone selling his/her Bitcoin now is going to be unpleasantly surprised and do what they always do and buy at the top, when the price starts drooping again.

The halving event (I call it the halvening - combination of having and happening Grin) gives Bitcoin a tangible and logical reason for why the price rises.  Especially if you consider the long term potential of price long after near the last Bitcoin has been mined. I think we will see prices that stretch beyond 10^6 figures before the end of this decade and the coming of the next.
1252  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinzino.io closes accounts and takes money from players for no reason on: May 30, 2023, 10:15:16 PM
after signing i have deposited money to coinzino.io to play the first few times i withdraw is ok but after the 3rd time i have deposited and played after winning i withdraw then they closed the account and sent an email saying suspect me of violation waiting for them to investigate. after 5 days I still have not received a response from the email, then I texted the support chat on the homepage, they said I was in violation and the account was closed and can't be reopened, I asked what violation I did and asked by proof they don't answer maybe they want to take away more than 3000$ in my account

~snip~

OP, by your evidence I have not yet seen whether or not they have a legitimate reason to ban you, and whether you have full rights to demand the full amount of deposited money back. But that being said, I did not see you write them the demand of a refund. So you might want to do that, so you have definitive proof that they refuse to refund your deposited funds.

If you want your scam accusation to be taken more seriously, then you should post it in the scam accusations subforum. However I would want to see more proof of who is in the wrong here.
1253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is mass adoption or/and regulation more likely to reduce volatility? on: May 29, 2023, 11:57:35 PM
As we know bitcoin is one of the most trusted cryptocurrencies and is considered the pioneer in the field. It has been in existence since 2009 when it was founded by Satoshi Nakamoto.
Reports suggest that as of February 2023, there are over 40 million people who own Bitcoin. There have also been discussions about regulating Bitcoin from various sources worldwide. On the other hand, volatility is one of the most prominent features of Bitcoin.
If more people adopt Bitcoin (e.g., 200 million people) and the government succeeds in regulating Bitcoin to some extent, would it reduce its volatility?
Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
Bitcoin is the number 1 top trusted crypocurrency. And of course it is considered the pioneer in the field because it is the... pioneer in the field.

If the government in any country had the ability and resources to regulate Bitcoin, they would have done so already. They cannot regulate Bitcoin. They can regulate centralized entities like cryptocurrency exchanges or cryptocurrency casinos. Anyone in the world can mine Bitcoin, anyone in the world can own and transact with Bitcoin. All they need is an internet connection.

The worldwide adoption is a question of when not if. The volatility will continue to exist. But that is not a bad thing, BTC may always have changes in price, due to pure speculation. The value, however, stays the same.
1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: May 29, 2023, 11:39:46 PM
This actually happens if there is a similar thread I'll lock this thread.

My friend invited me for a round of drinks just last night to confess something, and that is his wife threatened to leave their house and file for legal separation because the wife just discovered that he's spending a lot of time gambling, she thought that he's just playing games but she discovered his logged because the idiot has his password in the browser, so the wife check his withdrawal and voila his losing a lot of money and she also discovered that he won big money in the past but didn't tell her.

I guess that blew her patience for not telling his winning, so he threaten that he should stop gambling or they part ways, my friend choose his wife so he cannot play until he can convince his wife and promise her to tell her if he won big. Cheesy

How about you have you been threatened by your wife, your girlfriend, or your parents, if so tell us your story.

Have I ever been threatened to stop gambling? No I would say probably not. If I had, you would think I remember it.

The problems that gambling addiction can bring were never really imposed on me. Perhaps I have a gambling addiction, perhaps not. But since nobody has made an effort to stop me from gambling or telling me that there is any problem, I would have to suppose that I am fine.

Of course that does not mean that the people around me enjoy seeing me gamble. Those who oppose those kinds of things will always try to warn or dissuade you from them. But that has more to do with their beliefs and norms rather than your gambling habits.
1255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Internet is one limitation of bitcoin on: May 29, 2023, 10:13:46 PM
This is not the problem of bitcoin, but the problem with your government that disabled internet in your country. You can use Starlink instead of relying on local service providers.

Elon Musk's Starlink finally registered in Pakistan to roll out internet services. ISLAMABAD – Elon Musk's famous satellite broadband provider Starlink has reportedly registered to operate and provide internet services in Pakistan.

Technically, if you have access to the technology and the satellite link, you can have internet anywhere in the world, without having to ask any government for their permission. If anything, does that not make the internet somewhat decentralised? I realise that not everyone has a starlink satellite dish and a ground transmitter powerful enough to broadcast to any Starlink satellite. But the possibility is there.

I think that possibility will become an affordable and simple-tech reality in the near future. And then once we have decentralized internet access, there will be no problem with Bitcoin, as OP calls it. Although I would rather call it a connectivity issue.
1256  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why do you still want to play fake web2 casinos? Why we choose web3 casinos on: May 29, 2023, 04:44:44 PM
I just want to hear your ideas so we can improve our platform. Thanks to admins, they don't like decentralization and they moved our ANN to altcoin section again.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5453737.msg62314774#msg62314774

So lets discuss here. What do you advise to improve our casino to beat unfair web2 casinos.

Obviously we need to decentralize everything that we can. Especially things that have power over our money. Web2 casinos or exchanges are all the same. They carry the risk of taking your money away whenever they wish, for whatever reason. Some are older, more known and definitely more trustworthy. But the fact that we have to have a trust scale at all seems redundant. I would rather verify than trust. And replacing trusting with verifying is exactly what web3 is for.

Unfortunately, web3 is in its baby shoes and there are no truly decentralized casino platforms just yet. Sure, many claim to be web3 but thats mostly marketing some decentralized feature. That is why web2 casinos are just as likely to freeze your funds or reject your winnings as web3 casinos are. For now, anyway. We will achieve real decentralization of casinos at some point in the future.

1259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Garcia Vs Lara AUG 05 2023 SATURDAY WBA WORLD MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP on: May 26, 2023, 12:30:08 PM
Lara used to be known as a boring fighter but he has slowed with age and his fights have been more interesting to watch in recent years. I don't know who either of these fighters have beaten to be fighting for a world title at middleweight but I guess that is the privilege of being an Al Haymon fighter. I favor Garcia slightly due to being not as old and less washed up but I expect it to be a competitive match.

Yeah, I would say Lara has a clear disadvantage when it comes to age. I mean a 5 years gap from age 35 to age 40 is quite a leap- from a physically strong to a physically weaker body. 35 is no spring chicken as 18 but considering the official "physical prime" age for professional boxxing is from 28 years to 35 years old... That puts Garcia at the advantage in this fight.

My money is obviously not going to be on Lara. I see Garcia coming out strong. No comparison, really.

Not sure if I used the term spring chicken correctly but it'll play. Tongue
1260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My mistake was making my involvement with Bitcoin public on: May 26, 2023, 04:32:13 AM
There is always a man in the family who believe they are the smartest, I have an uncle who is currently the most successful one in the family, maybe that's why he is behaving this way, he knew my involvement with crypto and Bitcoin, and after the crash into bear market he called me and said ..

Are you still into Bitcoin? You need to find something else to do, Bitcoin will fail soon because there is nothing that can take away the money printing machines, the government will keep printing money because they like been the printer, they can't print Bitcoin that's why it will fail, stop living a dream and do something good with your life before it's too late.

At first I got angry, because he always believe he knows the best for everyone, and I am different, I am not like my brothers that fall before his kneels every time. I replied him with this.

Why are you so into what I am doing? Why did you take this so serious than anything else? You have never showed concern about me, I have never asked you for help and you fulfill it, if Bitcoin fails it's fine for me, and Bitcoin was never created to kill Fiat in the first place, it was created to support people like me, because no one wants to support people like us but they want to pretend they do.. Fiat is Centralized and Bitcoin is Decentralized, it's for the people and the community, it's freedom and a perfect home 🏠. I can't hate something that have helps me so many times uncle.

Have I said something too harsh? He took this personal and report me to my eldest brother, my brother said I shouldn't mind, he doesn't know that my brother is now also a Bitcoin investor, my mistake was making it public, which my brother never did.

If you are still planning to get into Bitcoin, don't post anything about it in family group chat or on your WhatsApp status, this was my biggest mistake.

I personally believe that keeping quiet about your finances and investments is a good idea but in the case of Bitcoin, people need to know. Not everyone has someone in their family to educate them about Bitcoin. The family member that you mentioned in your opening post should count himself lucky that he has someone who cares enough to talk about Bitcoin. But instead of taking your words seriously and doing a bit of self-research, he decided to be an irritating person just because he could not let go of his own giant ego. He missed out on a good investment opportunity and that should have humbled him.

Don't get angry at such unteachable people. At some point in his life he might realize that his ego prevented him from making good decisions in life.
