I have emptied the remainder of my wallet on the Panthers to win by 13.5 points! which I
think they should do, they are making up for a shaky start to the season. Look at their
last two wins, +41 against the Raiders and +32 against the Sea Eagles.

The Warriors beat the Cowboys earlier 22-14, the Cowboys are F'd and remarkably
the Warriors are in #2 spot on the ladder behind the Broncos.

And what about Storm losing yesterday to the Sea Eagles?
1382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 14, 2023, 09:51:02 PM
Sinner has won really easy against Musetti. Probably Musetti was "tired" from the last match against Djokovic (?) but Sinner is actually in a good shape. Against Rune it would be interesting a match... both players are "the future" of this sport Roll Eyes

Agreed, both players are definitely making their mark on the game, really hard to pick
a winner from this matchup, eventhough I would love Sinner to win, Rune has been
impressive so far, I think the winner of this matchup will win the tournament.

And another note, Fritz did really well to beat Tsitsipas, Frits is also an improved player!

I saw the last set between Medvedev and Zverev and it was a bit of a roller coaster, lots
of times where I said "ah Zverev has it now" and also "Medvedev is going to win"

Is Zverev back to his former level yet though?

Medvedev plays Rune next and after the match said he has trained with Rune many
times but failed to beat him on clay! This match could be a better test as to how Medvedev
has progressed on clay.

...well the Dolphins were looking good up until half time! but then the Rabbitohs played
for real in the second half and held the Dolphins scoreless.

I'm thinking the Dolphins run has come to an end and the Rabbitohs are hitting their
stride now and have found their form.

I have gone with Storm also for tomorrow.

Union

R17 of the United Rugby Championship is up and running again while the Heineken
Champions Cup takes a break.

We are coming to the end of the rounds and will be heading into the finals  after
R18. While the race is on to get into and stay in the top 8 for the finals there is also
the competition to get into next years Heineken Champions Cup. This round
sees a good few mismatches, top of the table playing the bottom of the table.

An interesting matchup is the Lions in 11th spot playing Leinster in 1st, its pretty much
evens - 1.9 v 1.91 - thats a great price for Leinster who I cant see losing.....hmmm
1385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 13, 2023, 05:58:34 PM
Sinner has won the match against Hurkacz. The first set was win by the polish player but lately there was not match (at least on third set with a strong win of 6-1 !)
About Italians player, the former winner of Wimbledon, Berrettini again out of the game! It seems that he was injured and he has left the tournament Sad Terrible year for the player Sad

Italian tennis is in a great place with Sinner leading the way but BIG KUDOS to
Musetti who just beat Djokovic over 3 sets, now if Zverev can despatch Medvedev
we have a very interesting tournament ahead!

Its a pity for Berrettini, its bad luck that he is plagued by injury, such great talent.
He really needs to get fixed up and playing competitively again.
1386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren Buffett Blasts Bitcoin as 'Gambling Token' as BTC Surges 35% in 30 Days on: April 13, 2023, 06:38:25 AM
Its funny isnt it, that the well known critics of Bitcoin crawl out of the woodwork as soon as
the Bitcoin market does something interesting.

I heard a quick 20 second report on the radio about Bitcoin hitting a 10 month high of
$30,000 in a "currencies and markets" slot but the reporter had to balance that news stating
how volatile it was and gave the example of the ATH of $69,000 crashing back to $16,000.

They always have to spin some negativity into their talknof Bitcoin.

Main thing is that the market is not as sensitive to that anymore.

News out today is that World Rugby is considering introducing an "Orange Card"

https://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/rugby/arid-41114734.html

Information is a bit sketchy or minimal, my understanding that the idea is that a player
issued with an Orange card leaves the field for an initial 10 minutes while the TMO reviews
the fowl play and has the option to bump the Orange to Red or not!

So does that mean there would be 3 cards...
Yellow - 10 minute sin bin
Orange - 10 minute sin bin while under review
Red - immediate dismissal

?

NRL

Bit of a dilemma for the first game in R7 tomorrow...
While the Rabbitohs are favourites they have had a sketchy start to the season,
can the Dolphins who are 4.2 for a win tomorrow beat the Rabbitohs?
1388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is a light on: April 12, 2023, 06:12:43 PM
As long as it's good and meets their needs, people will buy it without promotion. In contrast, poor quality products always offer advertising programs and discounts to attract consumers. Bitcoin is good enough, and it just takes time for people to realize and find it.
A bit off topic, but this is not entirely through in the world of business. A good product would not market itself, it would only be able to retain those who find it. If you have a good product In a highly competitive niche, you will definitely need proper marketing and branding to make that product appealing to the potential customers. Customers do not magically find that way to you.

Bitcoin however is not a business, it needs users that believe in what it stands for, or have verified it's protocol and find it useful, not just an investment market.

Two good points

On one hand it is good to introduce new people to Bitcoin, its a form of marketing I suppose.

But on the other hand the message portrayed needs to be more than just "buy Bitcoin and
watch your investment grow"

Bitcoin for sure is a beacon of light in todays financial world where dark things have
been going on and are still going on, people need to realise the benefits Bitcoin offers.
1389  Other / Off-topic / Re: The scary incursion of AI chat GPT... on: April 12, 2023, 12:24:12 PM

Chat GPT is an interesting innovation for the ordinary minds. But for individuals like myself, that crap is damn scary and anti-educationist!

Exactly, why would anyone bother learning anything if you can just consult Chat GPT
and let it generate content for you to use, copy/paste.

The recent inclusion of chatgtp4 or better known as AI domination is one that is a revelation to the lazy folks who think it's adoption is to help them remain relevant.
With every passing subjects, these AI bots become smarter, and don't think that the consequences would be evaded. We see loss of human jobs and a systemic inclusion of Ai in decision making and analytics.
I love the idea, but it seems more like a cheat code to the complexities we as humans are exposed to at a time.
No doubt tech is advancing fast, but we should remember that if AI should take away human jobs, enough time would be spent fighting and quarrelling and this could result in WW3.

I agree with you.
Personally I think humans in general will become useless, AI will be employed to do
more and more so that all humans have to do is eat, shit, watch TV and sleep.

Humans will become so dopey through lack of knowledge, AI will firstly learn, they
will generate everything for us that there will be no need to do anything for ourselves.

Humans getting dumber while machines get smarter

Dominic thiem is doing good so far in the monte carlo tournament he beat gasquet easily even thought his opponent is not at peak form but thiem really improved a lot since his comeback but unucky for him he is facing Rune one of the top players at the moment he is young and yet impressive i doubt thiem can do anything against him.

Dominc Thiem despite being currently ranked number 106 in the ATP ranking, he managed to reach a good position in the past, he came from reaching position number 3, so he has been slowly improving, I don't know if he will be able to reach a better position, at least be in the top 10, but if he's improving then he could at least move up in the future. while his opponent is Holger Rune, who is currently number 8 and heads the table, who this year has already played 21 games and won 14 and only lost in 7 games, in my opinion Rune will win this game, but the odd in case Rune wins it is at @ 1.34, I see it being a very low odd, if at least it was something around @ 1.44 it could motivate me to put it in my parlay

Botic Van de Zandschulp - Casper Ruud

Botic Van de Zandschulp, who currently occupies the 31st position in the ATP ranking, has never won any relevant tournament that he started his professional career in 2016, while his opponent Casper Ruud, who currently occupies the number 5th position in the ATP ranking, in addition to being in a better position, he has better performances in relation to Botic Van de Zandschulp, I see that Ruud will win this game without much difficulty, maybe for this reason that the odd for Ruud to win is at @ 1.29 which is an odd very low, but I could add it to some parlay, I'll think about it

Taylor Fritz - Stan Wawrinka

Taylor Fritz, who currently occupies the 10th position in the ATP ranking, this season has not had many outstanding performances, but in this game he will be playing against an opponent that is in the 90th position in the ATP ranking, and it is true that in the past Stan Wawrinka managed to occupy The number 3 position in the world, but that happened many years ago, and he is now 38 years old, I think that in this game Taylor Fritz has a good chance of winning the game, but it will not be an easy game for Taylor Fritz , but the interesting part is that the odds for this match are at @1.48 in case Taylor Fritz wins the match, and it's a risky bet if placed on a parlay

The last time Van de Zandschulp and Ruud also played against each other, and then the Dutchman won. So maybe the level is closer than the bookies suggest. They are of course mainly based on the statistics and by that I mean the world ranking. Ruud is considerably higher in this than van de Zandschulp, but how good is Ruud actually? He could potentially become the new number 1 in the world, but I still feel that he is lagging behind guys like Nadal, Djokovic and now Alcaraz. I hope for a long game and a three setter.

ya.ya.yo!

I am backing Ruud on this one, isnt Clay his preferred surface to play on and
IMO van de Zandschulp hasnt been performing to his potential at all recently.

Anybody watch/bet on the doubles match today between Mektic/Pavic and Fritz/Rune?
I watched some of the first set and found it interesting that two newbie doubles players
could beat the #4 seeds and veteran doubles specialists.

That must be frustrating for Mektic/Pavic to be beaten 3-6, 4-6
1391  Economy / Economics / Re: Advises 'Get Rid of Your US Dollars Now (Economist Peter Schiff) on: April 11, 2023, 06:15:00 PM
Since when do we consider the words of Peter Schiff as words from a sane person, let alone take them as a reference for making economic decisions such as stopping accepting the dollar.

This guy is a Bitcoin hater and a gold enthusiast (because he has gold related investments) and yet the gold hasn't stagnated ever since he called people to buy gold.

Don't take anything this man says seriously.

It is true that countries are starting to get rid of the dollar, but even the worst pessimists do not expect the dollar to collapse within 5 years.

Yes as a Bitcoin community we wouldnt be taking advice from this guy unless he advised
his audience to get into Bitcoin, which is not going to happen.

Shit is real! US is going to experience it pretty soon. Saudi Arabia has already decided and announced to cut ties with US and BRICKS nations have agreed to buy oil using their own currency. So dollar is going to loose it's value.

I am personally not a fan of gold, but I maintain a decent percentage of paper gold in my portfolio. It's not an investment, rather gold is used for capital protection. US is probably going to start another war to maintain the supremacy of their petro dollar.

It is real and the fact that so many countries are shying away from the $ is really only
the start of the demise. Saudi Arabia moving away from the $ is a massive and I think
it will gain momentum with other countries as time passes.
1392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 11, 2023, 06:27:23 AM
He have been considered among the top line of tennis players. If he continues to play he's gonna destroy his name that's been earned through hardwork. He's at his best and announcing his retirement is the right choice. Today's loss is really bad and he had earned enough to spend good with his family. Right now young players are dominant and to play against them and to take their positions or give competence with this form is really impossible.
I don't see it that way, everybody knows his career has been sidelined trough hip injury and every professional match he plays after the surgeries is a victory of sorts. It is obvious he likes the game since he doesn't need the money. In his current condition clay is probably worst surface for him but I am sure he will do better on his home grass. Looking forward to seeing him in Wimbledon, not many grass specialist in top positions so maybe he can do good there.

Yes sorry n0ne I agree with Trofo. Andy has built up a legacy which nobody can can away
from him. I have mentioned before that its getting time for him to retire but his fighting spirit is
very commendable given what he has had to deal with.

I watched the match: first set finished 6:1 Thiem (Thiem was leading 5:0 and Gasquet barely avoided the bagel) but in second Thiem didn't look that fast and fresh anymore 6:4. Anyway, his first win on a Masters in 2 years! But yeah, R2 v Rune doesn't look so promising anymore.  Grin

Would love to see Thiem get back to his former levels but it seems to be taking a
slight bit longer in my mind. Rune up next for him will be a big challenge.

Do you not think though that there has to be some sort of order, somebody has to be in
place to govern, to put order on the potential chaos. My country has almost 5,000,000
in population, its not all going to work out without rules or some sort of structure.

Its just a pity some politicians forget that they are in place to serve the people and turn
to the path of corruption.

After a nice match against Halys, Ruud today has been able to win. Ruud vs Kecmanovic the final for Estoril Open...tomorrow it would be interesting place some bet, maybe live...

About Murray, probably yes he is too old, but bear in mind he has also a full titanium hip, so it's not an easy stuff.
Most of tennis players at high levels seems to suffer about bad injury like Alcaraz, even if he is 19 years old he is suffering a lot of issues...

Well Andy Murray has a tough first match at Monte Carlo, he plays Alex de Minaur!
and thats tomorrow.

I'm not sure which surface de Minaur favours but to me he poses a big hurdle for Murray,
and there was me thinking Murray could get to the final...
I dont think I will bet on that, maybe for Andy to win a set, but which one?

How long would Murry continue to play tennis at this level? I never found him athletic, not even before. But now he stumbles across the track, when you see him walking it looks like he could fall down at any moment. Last year he played some great games for himself. But players he used to beat without problems are already causing the biggest problems. It is now someone who plays tennis purely for pleasure it seems.

It is my theory that Murray's tennis since he had the hip replacement is based
on skill, whats lacking is the higher levels of mobility and speed, that is what is
his weakness. Also throw into the mix is his age.

Today he was easily beaten by de Minaur 6-1 & 6-3. I said it last year and I'll say it again -
I think its coming very close to retirement for Andy.

There probably isnt any point to the thread but its interesting to read some of the replies.

Bitcoin in this instance worked for the OP, he needed money so used Bitcoin, he kept his
money in the first place in Bitcoin not FIAT, wasnt that what Bitcoin was designed for, to
enable us to Be our own Banks?

The ideal scenario would be to sell P2P without any third party involved but unfortunately the
OP couldnt do it.

^ That game has just started now.
I would be seriously worried for the Eels if they cannot beat the Tigers. I'm going to
try an in play bet to see if there are better odds on the Eels...

The semi-finals are set for the European Rugby Champions Cup this coming
weekend. 3 of my 4 picks came through the semi's, onlt the DHL Stormers were beaten
by the Exeter Chiefs very convincingly 42-17!

I'll be going with the two home sides again....which would be a replay of last years final!!

1398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How some people see Bitcoin on the other side on: April 09, 2023, 10:22:28 AM
I don’t think you should be giving others financial advice because you then assume the position of financial expert which you’re not. If you want to save your neighbors from falling into the hands of scammers, do not talk about investments or profits, you should teach them what bitcoin really is, some people will listen, some would prefer to give their money to a third party to double their investment but you will helping a lot more people this way.

Agreed, the OP would have to make it clear that the information given is an introduction
to Bitcoin and the benefits it offers to everyone.

The OP would have to make sure they can make it very simple for other people to understand
and be able to explain all the questions those people will have.

There may also be a need for the OP to explain the FIAT system, a lot of people only see the
money in their pockets and accounts but dont know the wider details of FIAT banking system.

Rugby League Australian NRL

I think we can safely say the Panthers are well and truely back and its only a matter of
time before they take top spot.

Panthers 44 - 12 Sea Eagles

They clocked up 32 points in the first half and the Sea Eagles only scoring in the second half.

The Broncos may be starting to creak at the seams after losing to the Raiders, a
game they really should have won.

Panthers, Storm and Rabbitohs starting to float to the top of the ladder with wins!

Later on I caught the second half of the Dolphins teaching the Cowboys how to play league winning in the last two minutes with an unconverted try 32 - 22.

In a couple of hours The Sea Eagles and Panthers face off. They are fairly evenly matched with the Panthers playing catch up it should be a good game. My monies on the Sea Eagles, however, the Panthers could claw they way in front with a win.

Later on tonight the Broncos should fend off the Raiders.

Damn, I was following the score line on the match centre on NRL.com yesterday.
I thought the Cowboys would do it with about 10 minutes to go. The score at half
time was 12 - 26 to the Dolphins and up to the 75th minute in the second half
the Dolphins hadnt scored. The Dolphins are definitely worthy of being in the premiership
so far!

They had to have been good odds if the Cowboys were heavy favourites! same with
the next game, Panthers v Sea Eagles - Sea Eagles are 3.85, great odds for potential
winners.
