1581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 10k investment on: April 16, 2023, 04:52:43 PM
Hi,

I’m looking to invest 10k, I’m trying to decide if to go with XRP or ADA.

In terms of holding I can do it for 1-3 years no real time limit. Not sure what returns I might get short term vs long term. ADA for example i might get 3 to 4 x return, however with XRP that might be a lot more should they win the court case.

My slight worry is what happens if XRP lose.

P

Why this choice? I would not choose XRP as a long term investment, the same bitcoin will give more percent profit in 3 years than XRP. Look at XRP's chart, it hasn't updated its ATH in over 5 years, what kind of returns are you hoping for with an asset like that? Besides, 2 assets is not enough for diversification, I think you could have chosen 1-2 more assets, and preferably they all should not be from the top 20 of Coinmarketcap. I would take a closer look at something going after the first hundred, there are very promising projects concentrated there.
1582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorites altcoins these days? on: April 16, 2023, 03:54:49 PM
Mine was BNB, ETH, RNDR, ARB. What about you guys? What do you keep following or watching these days? and why?

Personally, I actively follow coins that are deep in the cryptocurrency rankings, 250-750 positions. This is where the real and potential gems reside. What is the point of following ETH and BNB, what do you want to get from them, x5 profit? Probably, but they will hardly give more, they are already conservative investments, there is no sense to follow them, just like bitcoin. You just buy it and wait, knowing that this coin will bring its profit. Even if it's not much, it will bring it.
1583  Local / Работа / Re: Корректор на подработку on: April 16, 2023, 03:05:34 PM
1584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Recommend me altcoin to DCA till halving on: April 16, 2023, 02:42:05 PM
DCA in altcoins? It's not investing, it's gambling, especially if we're talking about relatively young assets. My opinion is that DCA in cryptocurrencies can only be safely applied to bitcoin. Altcoins have no bottom, so all these attempts to average your positions can only worsen your position. Given the fleeting life of altcoin trends, you can forever be left with candy wrappers instead of money.
1585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is SUI a SCAM project or LEGIT? on: April 16, 2023, 02:09:03 PM
SUI deceived all its testers and early adopters, though not openly. Many hoped that it would be a new Aptos, only much more generous, but in the end it turned out to be extremely unfriendly to their community, moreover, politicized. They made hope for all their users from CIS countries, and then blocked their access to buy tokens, and also blocked some social networks, designed for such users. In general, the community is already openly calling SUI a scam.
1586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are about to enter altcoin season, what do you think? on: April 16, 2023, 01:41:06 PM
I don't quite agree that many altcoins are rising and showing good growth. Altcoins are rather recovering, they only show growth for those who bought at the bottom. What about those who bought last year or in 2021? There is no growth for them, as the assets have not recovered even 50% of the values they had during the bull run. Still, most investors in the crypto market are still at an unrealized loss.
Yes, the whole market has started recovering value with Bitcoin crossing $30k, and it might be the signal of an upcoming bull run, we have seen that Bitcoin has been pretty stable from the last month after it reached $28k at the end of March, but it has finally moved up a little, so that's surely a positive and we will see a lot of mixed emotions pouring in shortly.

The market started recovering much earlier, a few months ago. While bitcoin reached $30,000, many altcoins have already managed to grow by several hundred percent and give good profits to those who bought at the end of last year. Don't forget about the fact that the current market position can be not a signal for recovery, but the price at the highs, when it is already late enough to buy and the market is waiting for a prolonged fall and correction again. Something similar happened in 2019, the time is just the same, there too until the beginning of May the market was growing, and then it began to fall.

Ксати, в локале совсем недавно объявился один пользователь,

А можно уточнить, что это за пользователь? Чтобы не оффтопить можно в личку скинуть.

UPD

1588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sushiswap hacked on: April 16, 2023, 12:37:45 PM
I think investors still believe in Sushiswap, even the team from Sushi have also said that their liquidity is safe,
if you say their liquidity is threatened then that's wrong,

If there are similar pools in SushiSwap in terms of conditions, I do not see any good reason to stay in such pools on SushiSwap so far. Blind loyalty only benefits the owners of SushiSwap themselves, as they will definitely not suffer, but only the money of the liquidity providers will suffer. Only cold calculation and competent risk management should be applied here.

that was proven when Sushiswap was hacked yesterday and what happened was that the price of Sushi didn't dump badly,
this is why I also believe that their liquidity is not absorbed as well by hackers.

Keep in mind that such tokens can be concentrated in a few large hands and even some panic sale could be quickly bought out by market makers, which kept the price from falling.
1589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE surges as Twitter change its website icon to Doge on: April 16, 2023, 12:31:49 PM
It's quite sad actually when blaming Elon is actually useless when you see things like this because of course Elon also can't afford it if there's no additional naive people like this and when they fail to leave because the price has started to lose Elon won't have any problems and these people who will blame and say Elon is a fraud but I think it is also their fault that they want to be deceived many times by people like Elon.

No, you can't call Elon Musk a scammer, because he doesn't promise anything to anyone, he doesn't give out any direct actions to investing, he doesn't create any pyramid schemes, etc. I definitely wouldn't call Musk a crook, but I would definitely call him a manipulator who actively PRs his products while weaving in mentions of cryptocurrencies he is interested in. Actually, it's a fine line here, nobody makes people run to buy these very DOGE after Musk put DOGE logo in Twitter.
1590  Other / Meta / Re: I can not update a post. on: April 16, 2023, 06:40:38 AM
I don't know about the others, but I could easily edit my oldest post. Without any problems whatsoever. I do not know, maybe for moderators it is allowed? I personally know nothing about banning editing old posts for regular users. I can not say anything specific about this, unfortunately.

1595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE surges as Twitter change its website icon to Doge on: April 11, 2023, 06:22:41 PM
Including FOMO, and also the unwillingness to think with one's own head. Musk has long understood that you can manipulate anything, even bitcoin, and the crowd will obediently follow him, while, due to imperfect regulation in the industry, Musk will not bear any responsibility for this blatant manipulation. In other words, he is doing it because he can afford it, bringing attention not only to DOGE, but also to Twitter.
I think the saddest thing is that he can manipulate other stuff as well. Like he can manipulate ideologies and politics as well if he wants to. He has so many followers that he could come out as the next republican candidate after trump and he could get sooo much votes. Obviously he isn't an American born person so even if was willing to be a candidate (which I am sure he must be) and even if he would get all the votes he needs, it is still not possible to make someone born outside of America to be the president. This dude is south African with Canada education, so USA was a place he came very late in life.

But in the end, he could always be high up there alongside the next one, and he has the follower numbers to convince enough people and manipulate their votes.

Anything is possible. By the way, I sometimes come across various Internet stories about how Musk has started to block unwanted accounts that oppose a certain political party or the actions of certain countries. Some begin to complain that Twitter has become extremely censorious, and if someone actively expresses a position different from that of Ilon Musk himself, then these posts or entire accounts are deleted. Although you can't say that before Musk, Twitter was a free-for-all. Even presidents were banned there Cheesy

As for manipulation of stocks or demand for Tesla, for some reason Musk does not try very hard to manipulate in these areas. Perhaps he fears retaliation from the regulators or some other reason.
1596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sushiswap hacked on: April 11, 2023, 06:00:06 PM
Sushiswap has always been the most unreliable decentralized exchange, since the beginning of its appearance, so I tried to avoid it. These events show, that I didn't do it for nothing, thereby, probably, saved my money. It is also worth noting that smart contracts are still a sore point of decentralized protocols. No matter how many checks they pass, no matter how many audits they have, it still guarantees absolutely nothing.

Yes, since the beginning. Do you remember that during the first weeks of life of the protocol the developer of Sushi-swap attempted to pull off an exit scam stealing a mountain of Ethereum ?  Roll Eyes

In the end, he regretted it and ended up returning the fortune of Ether and it was better secured under a multi signature wallet with other developers sharing a key. I initially was interested in providing liquidity to Sushi-swap but after things like that, I would never do it.

Quote
On September 5, Chef Nomi reportedly took 37,400 ETH (roughly $13,808,454 at press time) allocated to the Sushi Token development fund and liquidated it to his personal wallet. In an odd turn of events, however, Chef Nomi returned the money he previously liquidated, sending 38,000 ETH to the Sushi Token treasury.

Yes, you are right. It was then that I realized that this project, with its anonymous owner and developer, is worth staying away from, because it is unreliable and at any moment there may be another unpleasant story for investors. It could be a worthy competitor to Uniswap, but the creator himself made such a project lose liquidity and those wishing to become liquidity providers in sushiswap pools noticeably diminished.
1597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Step by step in " DOING YOUR OWN RESEARCH" on: April 11, 2023, 05:44:16 PM
By and large, you only need to know who the main investors are, how tokens will be distributed, what ratio tokens will be distributed to different categories of investors, for what period tokens will be blocked by the main investors and the team, how many tokens will be distributed to the community, and what the difference between the price for seed investors and public investors is. This information is enough to assess the investment appeal of a token.

1599  Other / Meta / Re: Messages for deleted posts - from 4 years ago? on: April 11, 2023, 10:48:26 AM
Yes, you're right, reports on posts or threads that are more than six months old may not be moderated and marked as bad. It's up to the moderator, but I'm sure that's what will happen. As for why it's still possible to send a report on posts or topics older than six months. Making two separate forms to send reports or closing the form for such posts is too difficult, IMHO.
1600  Other / Meta / Re: Messages for deleted posts - from 4 years ago? on: April 11, 2023, 09:59:49 AM
Now you don't have to worry about old posts or threads Wink As of today, the form for submitting reports now has a label for old posts or topics. If a reporter tries to submit a report on an old post or topic, they will get this warning:
