21  Local / Pamilihan / Lyka App on: January 16, 2021, 07:25:13 AM

(The picture is from google)

Link:
Code:
https://amp.reddit.com/r/beermoneyph/comments/him2bg/sa_mga_nagtatanong_if_scam_ba_yung_lyka_ito/

Hindi ba masyadong too good to be true yung offer na kikita ka sa pakikipag interact at pag upload lang ng photos and videos? So pwedeng ginagamit nila yung mga data na nakukuha nila mula sa users para ibenta. Anong masasabi nyo dito?
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin VS Gold - What is better for long term investors? on: January 15, 2021, 06:33:56 PM
This kind of conversation between gold and bitcoin has been already discussed a lot of times but for me, it actually depends on a person. If a person is afraid of taking a risk for a long term investment, then it's good for him to choose gold since its value is way more stable compared to bitcoin. Though one of the cons of gold is that it's harder to acquire, unlike in bitcoin where you can get hold of it any amount you have. As for bitcoin, since it's volatile, a person investing for the long term needs to be aware of how the market can drastically change, as well as being patient. So basically, instead of comparing which is better, investors just need to choose what kind of investment suits them, and for me, I prefer bitcoin.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: January 15, 2021, 05:33:21 PM
Gamblers are likely to gamble with the proceeds. It would be better to keep it, but yes, gambling is still tempting.

It really is specially if you are reading a lot of strategies techniques of gamblers posting in the gambling discussion and gamblers winnings in a specific gambling site, some gamblers are posting thousand dollars winnings with his strategy, you are tempted to try it out and see if you are also going to be lucky to win with the provided strategy.

We are not required to gamble here, we can keep our earning if we want, but if we are here because of gambling, most likely we will use the opportunity to gamble using our earning from signature campaign as you cannot just easily resist the temptation. Well, as long as you know how to manage your earning properly, I think it's not a problem, if you lose that earning and okay with you, then there's nothing to worry or regret here.

You just have to remember that in gambling a loss is a loss. And if you want to control your gambling expenses so that you will still have some amount left for your savings and other expenses then you should start to realize that chasing losses is never a good thing to do.

If what you earn is not that important to you then you may spend all of it in gambling. But some others here are probably working not just for gambling but for some other more important things in life such as their basic needs. To them, they should spend just a minimum amount for gambling. Gambling is for the surplus finances.
So it's just knowing our priorities where to spend our signature campaign earnings. As a gambler, it's normal to be tempted when we are basically discussing casinos or gambling. I also experience that a lot of times and sometimes I end up using all my profits in gambling. But priorities come first before leisure expenses, and I think that's a better way to spend earnings in campaigns. So before spending it on gambling, I make sure first that what I will be using is the extra one, after allocating for my other expenses.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trust your gut on: January 15, 2021, 04:32:04 PM
With the shown potential in the volatile market, it is fairly common to establish good faith in bitcoin since it set a new ATH a week ago. Honestly, selling it at the price of 41k can give you a good amount of profit, considering you have purchased it at a lower price. Regardless, your family seems to be knowledgeable about bitcoin prices and your investment value. Personally, I have been holding some of my bitcoin as I plan to generate profit at a much higher price. As of now, I have not set any price target, but I have the patience to hold it in my portfolio.

26  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of the following sites. on: January 15, 2021, 02:05:04 PM
Fake exchanges have been operating in different ways since then, disguising and tricking the unwitting users by sneaking in numerous platforms and search engines. You will commonly encounter it in a Google ad, which will make the user redirected to the fake website that urges the trader to sign in their credentials. Thus, we should be extra careful and pay attention when browsing any platform to access an exchange as fraudsters can quickly create an advert in Google to be in the initial result in a simple search of words.
27  Economy / Economics / Re: The sale of the COVID-19 vaccine on the dark web continues. on: January 14, 2021, 03:57:54 PM
Well, I understand if we see people selling vaccines on the dark web, but I wonder why would people buy vaccines there? First, there is no assurance that the vaccine is real, knowing that they are selling it there. It's not being sold individually, let the government acquire vaccines for their people. Second, we are still at the early stage of vaccinating people so there's no need to be impatient. Personally, I don't want to be one of the people who will get early vaccination because I still find it risky. And why does someone need to spend such a huge amount on a vaccine being sold in a not legal place? The price is way too expensive than the actual price of the vaccines available.
28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling advertising monitored closely on: January 14, 2021, 03:06:48 PM

Have not seen the second picture you shared but by just looking at how the game looks, it is obviously appealing to children. If kids saw this, without knowing that it's gambling, they would probably try accessing the game since there's so much adorable stuff that they would like on this game. Plus the fact that they advertise it on Facebook where kids nowadays have their own account and they might think it's just a simple game. Personally, if I did not know that this is for gambling, I would think that they target to attract children to play the game. We can't blame those who made a report about this because it's really not a good choice of images.

If you are an adult playing on a slot and these images pop up I don't think it will appeal to you, the owner of that gambling site is thinking of what the children will like when they used these images, it's obviously for children and there's no defense for this, 100% of those who will see this will conclude that it's targeting young people.
I've read the article from the second screenshot I shared. the gambling site said to ASA that reason for the cute design as they were appealing to women of age 18-65 but I think the design is a little too cute or kid-like and I agree with ASA that the design actually is a little irresponsible on the gambling site's side.
Do they think that majority of women ages 18-65 would be attracted to cute stuff? They are not kids anymore to fall for baby stuffed animals. Does their team did not study it further before deciding on the design they will use? It would be understandable if they used lighter colors or something if they are trying to appeal to women of those ages. Aiming for the cute concept is fine, but the designs are just too much and not appropriate for their target customers.
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The gambler who manages to beat the casino through cheating on: January 14, 2021, 02:03:21 PM
Here's the thing, these people here didn't juat knew how to cheat on a casino after a feverish night. No, they painstakingly trained themselves and researched on the ups and downs of the business in order to win and to cheat without getting caught. And more often than not, knowing how good casinos are at catching black-footed people, they will most likely get banned. So if you want to be banned in several houses with no hope to ever play in there again, then becoming a gambling pro is your best bet.

Precisely, cheating on gambling or specifically cheating on casino didn't learn by just sitting on the game in one night. These for me are considered as a skill of the gambler that requires to be enhanced, and train well to be able to execute these type of cheating. But at the same time it also need to have a strong guts to execute it since it is cheating and the probable to get caught while doing it was a lot more intense to be think of.
It indeed requires skills and effort just to beat the casinos and they are blessed to have such great skills and knowledge to execute those cheating methods they have. But no matter how smart they are, that's still cheating and for sure there will be someone smarter than them who can catch them. If a gambler is continuously winning big time, the casino will be suspicious about it and will strictly monitor every action of the gambler, and that's probably how they get caught. But other gamblers on the list still manage to win a huge amount of money even without cheating, they also used their skills and knowledge in a fair manner. Still, it's their choice to cheat so they should face the consequences like not being able to gamble again when caught.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Latest Metamask phishing site on: January 14, 2021, 01:07:15 PM
they don't need to know just Metamask, they have to understand that private keys and seed phrases are very sensitive information
Sadly, some people overlook the importance of the proper way of storing private keys, safe browsing, and being attentive with the clear indication of a phishing website. Being educated with its primary purpose and fundamental role in securing your financial funds will help to prevent the deceptiveness.

they should google the websites or apps they're about to post those things in.
If the official has not been bookmarked, then it should be done to easily visit the site without the need to search for it on any webpages. In searching in Google, make sure to check the URL instead of clicking the initial result. Nonetheless, every user should prioritize learning such things.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Bangladeshi Bitcoin Scammer got arrested on: January 14, 2021, 12:17:17 PM
Good thing that he got arrested, that man does not deserve the things that he made with the money he has stolen. I hope that he will be suffering in prison because of his actions. I think it will not hurt the bitcoin community in your country because a rational person will not blame the tools but the man.
A serious offense has been committed; the suspect should be accountable for his misdeeds. With the huge sum of money that has been laundered, the authorities can possibly impose long-term imprisonment. Besides that, the suspect seems to be desperate for money, using fake ID’s to remain untraceable in conducting different transactions. Regardless, we should be aware that some fraudsters have not been busted and captured. Thus, it is important to be vigilant, especially nowadays in which a hacker can find a way to bypass any security to steal from us.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too many project SCAMS - PLEASE CAREFUL on: January 14, 2021, 06:53:51 AM
Various scams are already apparent for the past years and we cannot stop them. That's why it's also a part of getting into crypto space is to know how to avoid and keep yourself safe from scammers. Since the adoption is continuously growing, more scammers will use it to delude beginners. Remember to always be careful with projects you are choosing and to always do prior research.

And some of them are hiding as new projects in the crypto space. so be careful because they will use all the good stuff whitepaper roadmap just to get what they want which is your hardwork money. Invest only in legitimate project and don't be FOMO with a new coins with high price they will all lost its value someday so be careful.
It is a typical form of fraud that can be detected by a thorough evaluation of the content of the website and whitepaper. Thus, it should be prioritized as it will be the guide in identifying the underlying loopholes in the project. Furthermore, it is useful in understanding the proposition of the project in a specific issue. Unfortunately, some investors are influenced by greed and invest in a project that proposes a high-yield profit. In which they take the risk despite seeing the red flag, such as questionable ROI, poor content whitepaper, and website, fake teams. Regardless, they should be responsible and wise in trusting people with their funds.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: again a Bitcoin millionaire who forgot his password on: January 13, 2021, 04:11:06 PM
That's awful. But knowing that you're holding such a huge amount of bitcoin on your hardware wallet, that would already make you extra careful with it, especially with your password. I mean, since it's a huge worth of money then you wouldn't want to forget your password so you would probably have backups with you. I think he's used to holding a huge amount of coins that's why he becomes careless about it, and now he's in a tragic situation. With the remaining two guesses he has, he needs to be critical since it's a matter of $220 M worth he'll be losing.
34  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will reach 100K! OK and then? on: January 13, 2021, 03:12:42 PM
The prediction of reaching $100k is still not a reality so why do we have to worry or think too much about the after when we still haven't reached that point. Tbh, we don't even know when will we reach that price and it's difficult to know exactly what will happen after bitcoin reached $100k since there are a lot of possibilities. Correction is highly possible, same with the continue rising but one thing I doubt is bitcoin falling back to zero.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoin would you Buy now and Why? on: January 13, 2021, 02:13:24 PM
- Kyber Network

- LoopRing

- Icon

- Bat

- Terra

- Ontology

- Iota

- Enjin

These coins are in the top 100 at cheap prices with low max supply, which of these coins has been established for years maintaining its top 100 rankings + which ones haven't been heavily premined + has a real world usage + not a shit/scam coin + has good fundamentals + very active project with regular updates from the coin team.

Which of these coins are new if not established and in what trend? De-Fi?

Tbh, I have no plan nor interest in investing in those altcoins you have mentioned because I have my set of altcoins that I prioritize over those on your list op. Just like what others have mentioned, Ethereum is one of the altcoins I would rather buy since it's undoubtedly established, as we all know. But aside from eth, I also like bnb and I prefer buying them because I see more potential with these coins in the future, though I'm not saying that those coins on your list do not have potential since I know some of them.

37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper money vs Digital currency on: January 12, 2021, 03:31:17 PM
Convincing the majority of people does not happen in a short period. It takes a lot of time, effort influencing, and knowledge before they can understand and start to accept the digital currency. However, time still does not guarantee to convince everyone because even with its advantages compared to paper money, digital currency also has its own cons, and the lack of technological advancement and literacy are big factors to be considered.

Definitely not the best images or design to attract the majority of the gamblers. If they are trying to appeal to older people, they should have thought of some images that will certainly gain their attention, not those cute images. I get that some gamblers may probably like cute stuff, but putting too much of it on an adult game is not a good one.

This do mold up those young minds to be gamblers later on when they do really get engage into believing that they are just simply playing with those
images but deep inside it do really involves gambling.
Kids have a very curious mind and once something got their attention, they would go for it without thinking of what really it is. This leads to early exposure to gambling that they can bring when they grow up.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: He said Bitcoin is a Scam: See What happened to Him on: January 12, 2021, 01:06:09 PM
It has been a common misconception as people are clueless about bitcoins’ functionality. Thus, If I were in that position, I will point simple facts and relevant information. If it is not enough, then I will suggest conducting further research. Regardless, that person needs to visualize his unfounded claims. It is clear that he has not fully overcome his unpleasant experience with his investment, which eventually changed his impression of bitcoin.
