221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on Open ending events? Should casinos continue offering them? on: November 29, 2020, 12:44:51 PM
That's why I am not really a fan of betting on this kind of event. But since some bettors decided to vote on this kind of event, they should know or accept if there's a delay in the outcomes. But as for the presidential election between Trump and Biden, does it really have to be delayed when Biden was obviously leading and the winner. Trump just can't accept that he lost the election. Also, if this kind of event is really popular among bettors, casinos will keep on offering this kind of bet event.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rumours that Bitcoin was created in Russia on: November 28, 2020, 04:46:43 PM
It's still a rumor regardless if it's new or not so there's still no enough evidence to support that claim. And we've already read or heard different rumors and conspiracy about the creator and where it was created so does it still matter until now when it's just a rumor? A decade had passed so I don't think a lot of people here will still be much interested in this unless there's strong evidence.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you scared? on: November 28, 2020, 03:25:23 PM
I do notice that some people naturally don’t allow bitcoin in any of their daily transactions or there daily activities even when it faster and easier they still not accept or permit it to there life, they still don’t prefer using it, I have noticed this a lot, Some classes of human,Sometimes when they are to receive money from another country like international transfer sometimes it takes 2 3 days to arrive,They will advise them to use bitcoin and they still don’t accept it even it faster and easier. How can we erase the negative thoughts of people over bitcoin? Nobody has any negative thoughts over dollars or there various currencies, We need to think about it.
Perhaps it's not just because they are scared and that they have negative thoughts on bitcoin. One thing that could probably refrain them from using bitcoin regardless of its advantages is the lack of knowledge on how can they use it. Not everyone knows and understands bitcoin, if you ask a person from another part of the world to send you money through bitcoin but they don't know how obviously, they would refrain to use it. Removing those negative thoughts or doubt about bitcoin requires educating them and it also takes some time to do.
224  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: ANO SA TINGIN NINYO KABAYAN, XRP and Bitcoin ATH na ba or May BIG WAVE pa? on: November 28, 2020, 11:18:11 AM
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real purpose of Bitcoin on: November 27, 2020, 04:04:41 PM
I think that Bitcoin will never lose its original purpose. In my opinion, the original purpose of it is providing people an opportunity to use it freely on different fields and not seeing it as just an investment tool. For example, it is used in various places now. People use it in shops, on online shopping, on buying a property etc. . Bitcoin usage in different fields continues to increase. So, I think that people will never see it as just an investment tool.
People making bitcoin as a means of investment is growing but at the end of it, it's still being used for peer-to-peer transactions so the purpose was still there. I agree, people just find a good opportunity to make it as an investment tool that's why we see more people investing in bitcoin. But looking at the brighter side, it shows that bitcoin uses is just growing since people were able to make use of it in different ways they can.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understand how cryptocurrency scams work? on: November 27, 2020, 02:59:00 PM
Needless to say, they can’t permanently remain in using a specific approach in deceiving investors. As the different fraud techniques become familiar in the public, which implies that they have to look for alternative ways to continue their scheme. In such a way, people won’t suspect anything. Regardless, we have to be vigilant as they make innovative changes with their techniques and understand that scams can happen in different ways.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Life, gambling and trials. on: November 27, 2020, 02:09:05 PM
If you become too greedy that you have used all your winnings to gamble again then end up losing it, you won't enjoy the fulfillment of winning. It's like you just won for nothing because you were not able to use it in other things, you have just lost it in gambling. That's why whenever I won, even it's just a small amount of money, I always try to use it in different things. It's good to know how to manage your winnings in gambling so that you can enjoy and appreciate what you have won.

Greed is the main reason why those people always end up losing after a major win and you can't really tell if you can stop playing when you are at their position because some atmosphere will push you to play even more after you win a lot. I think the mindset of gamblers has changed a lot because of that, they rarely get some decent income from gambling all they get is lost every time they play more.
It's normal for us to be greedy sometimes especially when we won on gambling since we are feeling lucky but luck does stay for so long. Sometimes that luck can turn into a stone because we keep expecting that our luck will continue and it will give us more. It's not easy, but I think we should learn to be contented with our winnings because, without contentment, we can lose everything.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason for calling Bitcoin scam on: November 27, 2020, 10:22:44 AM
A lot of scammers are using bitcoin and crypto to delude other people that's why it is often misinterpreted by others as a scam, where in reality it is not. This has been already a common misconception of people who don't have enough understanding and knowledge about crypto so it's really hard to change that perspective of a lot of people. But even though there's still a lot of people who think that way, it's still good that we are seeing a growth of bitcoin adoption, and this can help to change that vision.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Argentina raises Gambling tax on: November 26, 2020, 05:19:21 PM
Apparently Argentina just raised their gambling tax to 5%.
Quote
The Argentine Chamber of Deputies has passed a law that will increase the online gambling tax rate from 2% to 5% in 2021. The new law was added to the National budget proposed by Economy Minister Martín Guzmán. The tax will apply to any online betting transaction. There’s also a 10% rise for the companies that operate in low-taxation countries.

What are your thoughts on this ??

To me it looks like because of the pandemic and the fact that people now mostly gamble online they are losing most of their usual tax revenue and that's the reason for the sudden increase and it was not a small increase either and it was more than doubled, I would say there's no problem if it was just a temporary rule till the pandemic is over and everything back to normal but since I know it's not I'd say that's not very good specially if the gambler has to pay all that 5%+house edge which looks like is the case here.
The pandemic really caused huge damage to the economy and they are probably trying to recover and by increasing the tax for online casinos. I don't think there's a chance that this law will be just temporary. Gamblers may complain about it but once it's already implemented, they have no choice but to accept it, unless they will stop gambling if they don't want to pay 5% tax. But I doubt that gamblers would stop gambling just because of a tax increase.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Do You Want For Christmas? on: November 26, 2020, 04:41:19 PM
This kind of offer can easily attract gamblers to gamble, and it's kinda tempting since who would not want a bonus or free play. But I don't think I would be gambling during the Christmas season (I can still change my mind depending on their offers) since I need to save money for that rather than spending on gambling. But if I'm going to choose between the two, I prefer a bonus, the same as the others.

So, if I am going to wish this Christmas, I only want is stable life and all of the things will come back in normal life.

We do want money but I don't think free money from casinos can give you this wish you have for Christmas. But I do hope that you would get what you wish for.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC and KYC correlation with ICO on: November 26, 2020, 03:19:04 PM
I was reading an article of recent, the author was explaining Anti money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC).

I see these two concept to be very key metrics in DAPP and Cryptocurrency.

Here is what I want us to discuss.

What are the relationship between AML, KYC and ICO

Usually ICO do this. Legit projects tend to ask for KYC to avoid such funds coming from hacked and scam activity. This will ensure that no investors on the project has been flagged for an illegal activity. Also scammers will definitely afraid to expose their identity if the funds they have came from doing a malicious scam project.

Too bad this method has been done by a lot of them to acquire information which they will be used to cover up their track what worse is the one got victim are the innocent for identity theft.
The compliance of KYC is implemented by different ICO’s; thus, it is unsurprising to see some ICO projects commit identity fraud.
For instances:
[1] Socialremit - Adviser with fake picture - stealing people's identity
[2] Rethen Foundation - SCAM

With such circumstances, it is difficult to trust any project that requires KYC as it associated with such risk. KYC could be extremely useful if it is applied appropriately, but nowadays, the main purpose of KYC can no longer be observed in projects. It should be protecting our funds from defrauders, but now, it just puts people in a tough situation. Nevertheless, ICO, KYC, and AML are connected in a way that KYC is used to for AML in ICO’s.
232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Watch out for Crypto Faucets! on: November 26, 2020, 01:26:26 PM
Nowadays, crypto faucets have a time-consuming process to earn in which you can barely receive decent pay. At a first glance, you may think that faucets are pretty simple, convenient, and profitable. However, some of it never payout for the completed task. It’s hard to understand people depositing money for a faucet when it supposed to be the reward for their time and effort. Thus, it is better to find an alternative way to earn than do faucets, though some of it is legitimate, you need to be very careful in choosing it.
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Suggest me some defi coins to Invest right now on: November 25, 2020, 05:42:20 PM
With the emergence of various coins in the market, I have plenty of things to consider in choosing a coin to invest in. For instance, its aim and purpose, proposition, team, and its value. Also, I don’t base my investment decision on their claims of rapid growth within months. In brief, I make a diligent review.

I won’t personally suggest any Defi as it requires deep analysis to determine the capability of a token, but I will suggest looking in the Defi section on the Coinmarketcap. Thereby, you will see the top Defi that you may consider and see its price and volume.
234  Economy / Economics / Re: Different online business we can involve in on: November 25, 2020, 04:31:13 PM
This is a nice list but there's more we can actually offer, we just need to have skills to start an online business. We can maximize the use of the internet to find income, and I have seen a lot of people shifting to online business, they just need the know what they are good at to offer services, or they can also offer products since online selling is now popular. Online platforms can be a big help especially now that we are in a pandemic where people don't usually go outside and most jobs are affected.
235  Economy / Economics / Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus on: November 25, 2020, 02:26:58 PM
There's no doubt that this pandemic made us suffer. With the lockdown and strict protocols that were implemented, we all got affected by the pandemic in different ways. But since it's been already a year, people are just slowly getting used to it.

As for the vaccine, it will still take some time before we can finally say that we are covid free. If they started distributing the vaccine, it will take probably a year or even more for the vaccine to reach other countries. A lot of us are already anticipating the vaccine but I think it is still in the trial so we still need to wait a little longer.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What issues should be considered before investing in a new DeFi project token? on: November 25, 2020, 01:37:21 PM
In investing in Defi projects, it is significant to have major considerations with the risk involved in choosing a project. Especially these days, where some of it are associated with various investment schemes. It needs a thorough analysis of its potential to survive the erratic market, key objectives, and its team. Besides that, some Defi tokens aren’t even valuable to hold, as some fail to maintain their value.
With this long-list of DeFi scams, be sure to think carefully with every decision you make.

237  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin retirement account on: November 25, 2020, 09:26:46 AM
Bitcoin is volatile so it's kinda risky to put your retirement funds on it since older people only depend on it for their daily expenses. Let's say, I will start putting my retirement funds in bitcoin, it will take me decades before I can use it and we are not even sure what would be the price of bitcoin at that time. This idea of bitcoin retirement accounts is new but I personally prefer saving my pension in fiat since it's more stable than bitcoin. I think that a lot of people won't want to risk their pension since that's where they will rely on their future when they grow older.
238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be used instead of paper money on: November 24, 2020, 04:10:43 PM
"Bitcoin will be used instead of paper money"
we all know about Bitcoin. Even a few years ago no one had any idea about the sale. At today's price of 18 thousand dollars, the price of 1 bitcoin. It is a remarkable revolution. Bitcoin needed only one thing. Big companies accept Bitcoin. But it has been
somewhat successful in 2020. Bitcoin is going to be the currency of the future. Its value will increase at such a rate in the next five to six years. Which no one could have imagined. One is just people believing in bitcoin. If you use paper money you can destroy that paper money. but you can never destroy Bitcoin. Which you can't catch. There is no question that you will ever destroy it. This is mainly due to the differences between Bitcoin and paper money.
It's kinda hard to predict bitcoin's price in the next five to six years so I don't know if what you have said that it will increase like no one ever imagined will really happen. Bitcoin is doing good and it's also gaining more attention even from big companies but for me, paper money will still be used in the future regardless of how bitcoin becomes more popular in the coming years. People will eventually accept and adopt bitcoin but paper money will still remain.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Life, gambling and trials. on: November 24, 2020, 03:25:49 PM
I don't spend much on gambling so I don't expect to win big so whenever I win, it's just a small amount of money that I often use to buy small things that I need. If I don't have anything urgent to buy, I use my winnings to buy foods like cravings just to treat myself as well as my family. I have not tried giving my winnings to my family because it's just a small amount but buying foods to share with them is still nice because I'm treating them even if it's just a normal day. They don't mind if I'm gambling as long as I'm limiting myself with the amount I spend, and it's my money after all.
Me too, if I won in lottery for example i always set aside some savings so that when emergency came and I need money there will be a backup money that I can use. normally I will save 60% to savings then 40% for gambling again, but I am not betting everyday, when my mood is good I'll play but when I'm not in the mood I'll skip, emotions are very important to me when I am playing, for me it has the biggest role in winning and playing.
That's good because you are having priorities unlike other gamblers who spending all of their winnings then they will regret it later after they lose it. I have a trait of a gambler who are always focusing in managing risks because I know that gambling is not just being skillful or being lucky and for me it is not enough because what we need is to know how to handle different risks. Handling our psychology is also important wherein we should not be greedy especially when we are having consecutively winnings because there are times that it lead us to become greedy and lose all of our recent gains where the profit goes waste just because of greed and not managing the risk very well.
