961  Economy / Reputation / Re: Dig Bicks, if you have a problem with me, let's discuss it. on: November 23, 2018, 12:25:35 PM
The whole point of bitcoin is to be universal. Although it's a bonus if you can, you don't need to be able to explain or even really understand cryptographic hash functions to use bitcoin. If bitcoin is ever going to become a truly widespread/global currency, then you can bet >99% of its user won't know what SHA-256 is. Dig Bicks' holier-than-thou attitude is at odds with entire point of bitcoin.
It's just like saying you don't need to understand what IP addresses are to use the internet. Works well but one can definitely access the internet more safely should the know how IP addresses work. SHA-256 is too far but not knowing what private keys can lead to loss of their valuable bitcoins.

Similarly, in-depth mathematical knowledge does not necessarily make you a good forum member, and being a good forum member is not dependent upon said knowledge. The fact is that your posts are far more valuable and interesting to read than his spamming/trolling. Calling someone out in a new topic and then immediately locking it so the person cannot respond is the height of cowardice.
Personal preference again. I find posts involving math and technical insights more interesting over the regular gossips on the forum. It's a Bitcoin forum and definitely, people expect a certain level of technical fluency here. At least to a level where a person knows what a private key is and how wallets work.

962  Economy / Reputation / Re: Try to scam? on: November 23, 2018, 12:17:08 PM
Anyone can offer his escrow service and it is up to users to trust him or not.
No, they can't! Even if they do, it's not endorsed by the members on the forum and they might get tagged for the same. Moreover, no one in their right minds will offer an escrow service when they know they aren't trusted around. Only scammers do that.

Since the escrow didn't scam anyone, you have nothing to do, you can keep an eye on him to detect any scam attempt, if so, then you can report him in the scam accusations section.
So you mean we have to wait for him to scam someone to take actions? That's pathetic. Given the history of escrow scams, we know how unreliable are these newly created account escrows.

He has the right to ask questions but i prefer to remove the name of the user since he didn't scam anyone at least until now.
Are you willing to use him as an escrow for a deal of about $1000?
963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized Dice Games? on: November 23, 2018, 12:06:00 PM
I was wondering if theirs a list of decentralized trusted dice web sites?
That's a vague question. Decentralized dice websites and dice games are two different things. A game can be decentralized without the site running it. The site can't really be decentralized since someone has to manage user base, transactions and other stuff. Games can be provable fair and also smart contract enabled. People aren't really fond of playing the later.

Decentralized Dice Games what are you looking for? I  play Decentralized Dice like tronbet, but this was very difficult because when I played I had to confirm with the Tronlink wallet and it had to wait a few seconds. you have the best luck to play to Decentralized Dice Games  Grin
How and what do you confirm with the Tron wallet? Seems suspicious.
964  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐭 Micerace.com - Bet on REAL mice racing, in real-time. on: November 23, 2018, 12:00:32 PM
Good that you have uploaded a demo of the game. Another suggestion would be adding a high-quality camera inside the mice racing chamber. Right now, it seems like the race is been shot using a CCTV and doesn't really give that high quality. There is a constant lag in the broadcast as well. This is a complicated project man. i hope it pays back.
965  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would you use this app? on: November 23, 2018, 11:56:48 AM
Voted with: Not Interested at all.

The idea is pretty simple, It's a desktop application to start with (could be available for iOS and Android afterward) to monitor your addresses and portfolio with notifications, charts etc. everything you might need.
There are dozens of apps in the market which do the same and trust me, they keep popping up in this section every other day. I'd rather have my own excel sheets and charts over an app that will have access to my confidential data.

It will support multiple coins, It will also be possible to retrieve your addresses directly from your hardware wallet (Ledger nano S/Trezor) without the need of copy-pasting them one by one etc. Is that something you would be interested in using in the future?
I'd be interested in an app which helps me getting the forked coins without needing to copy all the addresses.
966  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What are investors looking for before investing in a crypto project these days? on: November 23, 2018, 11:52:29 AM
From a personal experience, investors are the ones trying to centralize their investments around the crypto projects. The look for ICO's which have KYC policies, verified teams and proper legal permissions to run the business.

I've been a small investor in the past at any one instance where my investment in a project has never crossed the $1500 mark, however, I assume the mentality changes when you're gambling with deeper pockets.
You can't call it gambling really. You have 1000 things to consider before investing into a business. There are strategies and techniques to come up with the right decision.

I am in the process of raising funds for a couple different projects one of which is personal, I find that the outlook of investors has changed a lot from the mid-2017 era.
It certainly has. They have moved on from the potential of the project to the type of people working in the team. All these ICO's take famous people on board as advisors just so they can impress the investors. The project could be a total shite but raises money anyway.

They are much more conservative and much more cautious. And this is despite the fact that comparatively the condition of the crypto market wasn't very "stable" in mid 2017 yet investors were more adventurous.
They weren't adventurous. They were/are greedy.
967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Black Friday Bitcoin special - Get it now! on: November 23, 2018, 11:45:33 AM
This is the best Black Friday + Christmas combined deal we have seen this year. It's a serious opportunity to grab bitcoins at dirt cheap rates.

Nothing wrong with some optimism, right?
Except, the reality is totally different. You said it would bounce up above $20k in 2 months which is hypothetical.
968  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Royal Escrow legit? on: November 17, 2018, 01:24:45 PM
Don't even need to go into the details. Any escrow is a trusted third party, I don't trust any website that claims to be an escrow without me knowing them personally. LocalBitcoins escrow is a different case because it's automation and well trusted around.

I would not use any escrows that are off the forum and you haven't heard of.
Forum escrows also have a long history of scamming, thievery and major fuck-ups. Don't trust anyone without prior trading experiences with them.
969  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SYNERGY TOKEN - FAKE TEAM - SCAM on: November 17, 2018, 01:18:13 PM
You should probably prune all your threads where shutter stock images are used and bring it into their attention. Tell them how their platform is exploited to run several scam projects. Maybe they will start taking strict actions against these scum bags.
970  Economy / Gambling / Re: Micerace.com - Bet on REAL mice racing, in real-time. on: November 17, 2018, 01:15:44 PM
I must admit, I thought it was a terrible idea, but after watching the mouse for a few times it actually changed my mind. I laughed my ass off when the mouse turned around half way and then ran back to the starting position. <LoL>

Indeeed. It's really funny to watch how they mice have no idea what the fuck is happening. Maybe they should keep cheese blocks on the way so the mice can run along without looking back.

I think you should have a general rest break for these guys and then stream the video for the animal rights activist, to see that the mice is having fun, when they are resting.

Oh No. PETA will sue these guys for making mice run on the tracks.

You should also chose mice with unique characteristics <Spots on fur>, so that we know that the same mouse is not winning the race every time.
Yeah lol Maybe colour them or make them wear a sort of different hats. I have never seen mice with fur.
971  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Experienced Blockchain Developer on: November 17, 2018, 01:12:42 PM
Well, if you are going to claim you worked on Bitcoin core, you better provide proof.

Because right now, you look like a scammer.
Its not a claim. I still do. I have reported a few bugs and made some suggestions. There are a number of ways you can contribute to open source projects. Anyway beyond this conversation. Selah.
Shut the fuck up already. Link to one open source project you/your team has contributed to? All I can see is you making statements without cases to back it up.

I believe those who need a dev wont have an issue contacting me privately about their project.
This is an open discussion forum and anybody is free to question you if they find your ways scammy.

All this to discredit me or what? I actually have a much older account and i did not use it because i cant access it at the moment. And yes been part of many communities, even contributed to both bitcoin core and ethereum core at one point.
lol writing a comment on an issue is not contributing btw
972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright is trying to implode Bitcoin on: November 17, 2018, 01:04:48 PM
Sigh.. Attention whores exactly want this. Someone to post this crap on the forum and let others follow their comments. You literally are feeding the troll but creating a thread for him. He is a nobody.

why do people look at his tweets. he isnt coding BTC network so not important. he is just a PR social drama face of distraction
This. Yes sir, if they're contributing to the network in a positive way, they shouldn't be taken seriously especially when the price of BTC is concerned.
973  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Nitrogensports froze my account on: November 17, 2018, 12:54:03 PM
Guys not sure if I posted in the right section, I'm brand new. Just want to give yall a heads up if you use this website for sports betting. My account was frozen and I got a message saying After a depth review from our team, we found that your account overlaps information with another account(s) with activity as well.
Multi-accounting case. I think it's safe to assume you are a case of their fuck-up. Move this thread in the reputation section to get the attention of their admins.

I will let yall know what happened. But I just find it fishy after such a long time , they freeze my account once I have a good size bankroll.
How much money are we talking about here? It's unfair to freeze accounts with money on it.

x
Also try not changing your ip address much or country when betting that might have an effect sir.
I wouldn't bet on a site that controls how I use the internet. It's definitely a problem with their system.
974  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why the cryptocurrencies platforms for freelancers are still not adopted? on: November 17, 2018, 12:49:16 PM
I’m new as a freelancer and have been comparing what is the best platform to start, but I don’t understand why people prefer platforms with bank account association, instead of platforms paying in crypto or Bitcoin?.
There certainly are platforms paying in crypto and everything but they're highly centralized. I've personally signed up for a couple of them but they just don't seem to give freelancers any special advantage over the services section on the forum.

Could you help me to understand, since I have seen many comments describing recurrent problems and high commissions in platforms paying by bank transfer like upwork or fiverr.
They're reliable. The good freelancers don't have any problems getting jobs from bitcointalk. People like to be anonymous and these bitcoin-based freelancing platforms don't appreciate anonymity which is a huge turn-off.

Otherwise, I have heard that the commissions and even the payment guarantees are better in platforms paying in crypto just like cryptogrind or xbtfreelancer. Then my question is why the freelancers still prefer the bank account platforms if they present problems very constantly in comparison with the cryptocurrencies platforms for freelancers?
Maybe they don't like bitcoin?
975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'Or Winner on: November 17, 2018, 12:43:02 PM
Who do you think will win Balon d'Or this year? I think it should be Leo Messi, however, after the last leak I think it will be Modric but it ain't fair ...
True, he won previous awards this year but for example, Griezmann was much better this year. What's your opinion and where do you bet on the winner?
Why Messi is even in the list of nominees? Ronaldo is much deserving in the category! I think Modrich should win but Griezmann shouldn't be left out. Griezmann had one of the best goals this year and obviously, the winning team. Also, why it isn't fair for Modrich to win? He's fuckin played 10 times better than Messi at the WC.
976  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Introducing 'Lightning Collect' - Lightning Powered Payment Service on: November 17, 2018, 12:39:48 PM
The merchants won't really care if it's the Lightning network. For them, it's just another bitcoin payment application which can be incorporated in their legacy systems. Try to address the issues created by services like BitPay and others since you're already in the development phase. There is a huge potential in the market for easy-to-use payment systems, unfortunately, bitpay is a huge disappointment.
977  Economy / Gambling / Re: Micerace.com - Bet on REAL mice racing, in real-time. on: November 17, 2018, 12:32:49 PM
Looks an interesting project. I hate it for the fact that you're offline all the time I tried checking how the event takes place. You can just record a video of a live race for offline broadcast. I don't think I will come back again to test it out.

Apologies for that. We will be online for quite a few hours now, just doing test runs and such while we continue with development of the site. As I mentioned previously, we will be working on operating 24/7 once we're at that stage.
Something is showing finally! I can see the rats and the bets being initialised. The video I guess is a live stream going on. Is your production and development server the same? I also noticed one of the bets like real time. It's something different.

Thank you for the suggestion, I assume you mean to just have a video "loop" to show an example of a race?
On the production server if there are no live games going on, then it's good to have some sort of demo for the first time visitors to excite them about how the site works.
978  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: HUMANCOIN reached softcap but DONT want to pay bountyhunters on: November 17, 2018, 12:29:27 PM
I feel pretty frustrated  and not sure if this goes in this topic.. if i am wrong please delete it and sorry for the inconveniences.

It is obviously a unscrupulous way to afford free marketing working force.. you used us to create awareness of your project. you fixed a softcap and it was achieved, so you have a compromise with bounty hunters. The same way you used us for free marketing, angry thousands of bounty hunters will spread the word about your scam to us like wildfire and harm your company. Dont believe it? Ask to Sapien's team about what happened.. you just unleashed  sleeping beast..

Good luck.. you will need it
Did you use google translate to write this post? Seems like it. Also, you're a bounty hunter so I wouldn't be surprised. You can't do shit as a bounty hunter. Let me tell you why you're equally responsible for this

1. Did the project use an escrow? What made you blindly have faith in them?
2. Was the bounty manager reputed? Why did you join a bounty managed by a rookie?
3. Did you do your own research on the project team etc?
