1761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin video on BBC. What does it mean? on: February 21, 2018, 07:42:28 PM
Saw this on BBC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCv9HMW_j70
Does it mean that huge investors are on the board and we are ready to the moon race? Or it doesn't mean anything?

Since the last major jump, bitcoin is literally on every news channel that exist. What does that mean ? It means nothing.News need a trending topic to delusion naive minds by interpreting bitcoin as a source of doubling your money. To answer your questions, big investors have brains and they don't jump on the bandwagon.
1762  Other / Meta / Re: Average Word count as a parameter for a quality post on: February 17, 2018, 12:07:57 PM
I've read so many things about the merit system and i think it all boils down to the system just finding new parameters to be more objective. Now, I have nothing against having moderators and empowering high ranks to give out merits i think that's a great idea. i just want to suggest to help out people like me who also wants to be able to join bounties and increase my rank objectively. If you will observe the altcoin discussion forum, the merit system there is stagnant. If there are people who merits, they're scarce.
If you're on the forum for the rank and bounties, you shouldn't be here in the first place. If the merit system is prohibiting ranking of accounts like your which around the forum to spam for shit token bounties ,I guess it's doing wonders.
1763  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalBitcoins.com: New wave of scams! Steps to protect yourself (digital trades) on: February 17, 2018, 12:01:24 PM
Bank transfers are still reversible. Anything centralized, is.

Just because it's not common for it to be reversed, doesn't mean it can't ever happen.
How lol ? The country where I live in,if account is credited into your Bank account, there is no way you can reverse it until you explicitly write a mail to the bank after which Bank initiates an investigation.

Generally I prefer to deal with nothing that can trace who I am and who the seller is on localbitcoins. That includes bank transfers. If the seller uses a hacked account to buy your bitcoins, then you may be in serious trouble by law enforcement. That's why I like cash deposits, cash in mail to a p.o. box, etc.
Correct. However these are rare cases and hence you should be dealing with profiles which have verified their details and maybe you can call them before initiating a trade.

-snip-
There is no need to post the same message that you've sent me via PM. I've looked through your profile and couldn't find an address posted from you (prior to the alleged compromise) anywhere. Additionally, the way that you got instantly involved in some random shitcoins (Cinni, then Shadow) makes me believe that this is far from your first account.
In the absence of proving (in any way) that you are the original, and the absence of any noticeable abuse (despite the trio accounts), I'm pulling back my negative on this account. My gut feeling tells me that the case is genuine, but OP has failed to provide enough evidence.

ok thx for understanding, and sorry for taking everybody's time

what i understand, i should post my wallet adress somewhere in the forum to prove that it is my account later on ( incase it is hacked or something)

this is my adress "0x545A03954170776A8EF7dd7Db8948694c9d5ac6D"
This is not the right place to stake your address. It surprises me you're a Senior Member on the forum and yet have no idea about the staking thread. Also stake your bitcoin address if possible as it becomes easier for people to verify : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0

Anyhow,I have quoted your following address.
1765  Economy / Gambling / Re: Lowest House Edge? on: February 17, 2018, 11:51:38 AM
Crypto-Games.net has dice with 0.8% house edge. I don't know if that is lowest available but it's pretty good. They also have faucets and Rainbot giving away coins in chat. Often the promotions and other giveaways counter the house edge. You have to decide which of those you prefer.

House edge is not only the variable one should consider while betting on a website.Casino's reputation, stand in the community and trust should also be considered before blindly depositing money. Some websites can lure you with zero percent house-edge and run scams behind the screen.
Indeed Crypto-games.net is the most trusted of them all.

1767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Managing and organizing your bounties when you do over a dozen at the same time. on: February 17, 2018, 03:43:15 AM
Hello all. I currently participate in over 20 bounties at a time. It is actually becoming very difficult to keep track of my daily work even when using a custom spreadsheet.
I don't understand ,how can you participate in 20 bounties at the same time ? If you're getting a bounty for say signature campaigns ,how can't certainly wear wear more than one signature at a time.Do you mean to say you're using 20 different accounts ?  Undecided

I was wondering - is there any software or apps that allow for management of all our bounty campaigns at once? I looked but obviously couldn't find anything. If there isn't this would be a huge product/service to create for this niche. Something like that could help a lot of people and make a lot of money.
Speaking of traditional ways,Google-Spreed-sheet is the way to go.

Also - does anyone have a spreadsheet they made for this purpose that they find to be extremely helpful? My spreadsheet is good but it could certainly be better. I just can't seem to figure out the best way to set it up so I can do my work quickly and efficiently.
Go for project management software like Trello /Asana if you want it to organise in a better fashion.
1768  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalBitcoins.com: New wave of scams! Steps to protect yourself (digital trades) on: February 17, 2018, 03:33:59 AM
I would rather put it this way "Be careful with Paypal trades on LocalBitcoins"
I have been using LBC for ages and without any problems till date.In my region, most of the payment methods are done though Bank Transfers and there is not much a scammer can do because I will only release the escrow if the payment is credited in my bank account.Bank account deposits are not reversible so if I confirm money is credited in my account,we're good to go.

On the other side, the case is not the same with Paypal.
1769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It costs $26,000 to mine one bitcoin in South Korea — and just $530 in Venezuela on: February 17, 2018, 03:14:50 AM
Venezuela is facing an energy crisis, food (whatever they still have) is rotting in broken fridges from every day power failures and you think about mining?Huh
lol You don't have to be a Venezuelan to start a mining operation there.I don't want to sound rude but if you're coming from UK/US you might as well remotely handle a mining farm thereby providing employment for the locals.

Yeah, energy is cheap, yeah gas is cheap.
But when your wage is 30$ a month, and you have to save for 20 years to buy a car most Europeans can afford in 6 months, what's the point?
You have cheap energy, but an S9 is 100 median wages!!!!
Until and unless companies start outsourcing/giving out off-shore operations to them, there is a less chance the average wages will ever increase. But again those electricity charges will rise up eventually.
1770  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitpay any insights? on: February 17, 2018, 03:00:12 AM
I stumble with bitpay. Anyone has experienced it? Pros? Cons?

Worst service ever.I had to use it once because my vendor wasn't accepting any other modes of accepting bitcoin payments and this was the worst 30 minutes I wasted doing a bitcoin transaction in my entire life.If you have a chance to avoid it,please do so.

Hey did I tell you bitpay doesn't give you an address you're suppose to send coins to ? Go ahead if you consider this as 'pros'.

Strangely enough, I've never encountered bitpay itself but yeah, I've now seen a lot of complaints regarding how you have to pay through an invoice instead of depositing to a Bitcoin address. I assume as OmegaSS posts above, a BIP70 wallet can extract the address? But I've read how difficult that's been. I've had to use others, most commonly Coinpayments, and back in 2016 Cubits a lot with casinos. I really don't like those that have a really short expiry time, and I understand Bitpay's invoice has that payment window as well.
Yes electrum works as well but wallets like blockchain.info don't.My point is,why would I process a bitcoin transaction when I have no idea what address I'm sending the coins to ? I don't want to rely on a service which wants to use another service just to make my transaction go through.

For what its's worth I have used them dozens of times with no problem. Tony is a real business person with a serious company.
Does Tony have slightest clue about user experience ? Please tell Tony to think about it because clearly it doesn't look like Tony is serious about it.
1771  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Descriptor - Short Descriptions Of Alts! https://cryptodescriptor.info on: February 16, 2018, 07:54:53 PM
1. Don't link the coin to coinmarketcap, instead link them to their official website/github.
2. On hover, you added information that's nice but also add links if the wish to know more about the subject.Dapps for instance.
3. Use a sort method to list the coins like
   - New to old
   - MarketCap low-High (let user select or specify the limits)

1773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the Lightning Network Can Help Pump The Price of BTC To New Highs on: February 16, 2018, 07:30:59 PM
Interesting. However one gets lost in that Alice/Bob's transactions part.I was able to understand because I know what LN is but for the newbies,it's really complicated to follow how LN will exactly speed up the transactions. The title however is misleading ,please edit that to " Why the Lightning Network".
1774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It costs $26,000 to mine one bitcoin in South Korea — and just $530 in Venezuela on: February 16, 2018, 07:16:06 PM
There's definitely a huge craze for Bitcoin in South Korea and it's getting popular for Venezuela because their citizens want a secure way to get a store of a value. But wow, if you're a Bitcoin fan in Venezuela that's great news to hear.
- They will certainly adopt easier to cryptos as the government policies in Venezuela are pretty harsh and if you are up to date with with the last protests they had against the governments you'd know  why they are against the system. This gives a massive open market to bitcoin.

On topic, the mining stats took me by surprise. The mining costs will be significantly lesser in rural areas and suburbs as they're relatively dependent on the electricity charges.
1775  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FortuneJack Scam (3 bitcoins stolen) Ignoring me on: February 16, 2018, 06:56:31 PM
I would like to know if this is common practice for this casino? If anyone wins more than a certain amount, will they need to go through months of verification to withdraw their money? Or, are these just isolated incidences?
- Not the right place to ask the question but since we are on topic I'll answer it anyway
 - Good casinos don't need months to detect fraud. For instance I don't recollect crypto-games.net taking ages to detect fraud if in case a situation like above occurs (although the probability of that happening is zero )
 - Casinos like bitcasino.io,sportsbet.io have involved in accusations where an user has won insanely high amounts they choose to not process the withdrawal and take the case as an attempt to cheat the system thereby holding the withdrawals until 'fraud detection' team gets back to you.
 - You should avoid casinos which take forever to process high value withdrawals as they aren't to be trusted with high value deposits either.
1776  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Paid] Looking for web developer! on: February 16, 2018, 06:50:43 PM
FYI - you will get better quality if you hire two people.

PHP and MySQL and programming languages - left brain.
CSS and HTML are design languages - right brain.

Everyone has a dominant side of the brain.  No one is an expert at both.

For example, look at my BPIP site.  You can tell I am a left brainer and my creativity is below average.  Smiley
This is accurate.I'm a Full Stack Developer on occasions  but if OP is ready to pay good enough for the work and not just a few satoshi's I can team up with Vod and do the HTML/CSS part if at all Vod is ready to handle the back-end.
I don't mind writing HTML/CSS from scratch or use one of the existing libraries like Bootstrap/Semantic UI etc.
1777  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Block Chain based CRYPTO CHIT FUND on: February 16, 2018, 06:36:39 PM
Yes.  Ths is more of a lottery than a chit fund.
In that case, please change the title it's misleading.

No monthly payments....its only one time payment and get into the lottery draw. So no running away.
Again who would hold this money and what is the guarantee they won't run away with the money ?

I know there are many lottery with block chain concept like FireLotto,TrueFlip etc. wherein the participants
pick six numbers and also it rolls over if no number is matched. Its similar to traditional lotto.
Which means the market is already saturated and no new services will be welcomed gratefully.

In our case, we pick from the participating members., the pool money goes to winner/s.  Also there is a cap on
participants and total amount and hence more transparency and winning chances are more.
That is technically how every lottery works. The winning chances will always depend on the number of participants. How would you earn money if you give all the pool money to the winner ? You know that's a lie.
1778  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Other blockchain Forums? on: February 16, 2018, 06:31:55 PM
I am looking for other forums in which one can share about bitcoin, blockchain and ICOs. Obviously not looking for a marketing outlet or people sharing about how bullish they are on bitcoin.
I follow couple of sub-reddits to stay connected with latest happenings in the Bitcoin/Blockchain world : https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/ (only Bitcoin)

For ICO's,there are many other dedicated forums which you can easily get though using google.

I don't understand why you want so many forums to talk about bitcoin when you're at right place and where you can learn more than all the other forums combined.
Really ? Just open the Bitcoin Discussion section once and you'd see why mature crowd doesn't want to use bitcointalk as a reliable source of information most of the times.I love to be here but  recently the politics to get on the 'DT' list is getting more attention than the quality of bitcoin related discussions.
1779  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FortuneJack Scam (3 bitcoins stolen) Ignoring me on: February 16, 2018, 06:24:33 PM

I am sorry to hear about your case, as I already wrote in PM I will be happy to help in clarifying the situation. I have sent your email to fraud control department and will get back to you as soon as I have some concrete answer.
As the Owner/Admin of the company, can you give a rough ETA by when will your fraud detection team would provide you with the results ? Last case, took around 3 months or so get resolved when fraud detection was involved.
It's annoying to keep customers waiting without giving them an ETA.Pretty sure OP also is interested in knowing the same.
1780  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Craige288] Need DT Members on: February 16, 2018, 06:20:50 PM
One can easily make out from the merit history of the tagged accounts that they're giving merits to one another and there is likely one person/group of people who are actively distributing merits randomly.
Definitely needs to be tagged. The merit system will show it's full potential after the existing merits given to these accounts by default are over and a new account needs to be ranked up.
