1721  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: TREZOR Model T touchscreen on: March 02, 2018, 07:46:22 PM
How does touch-screen change anything ?

A touchscreen means you no longer have to enter your pin on a computer. Seems fairly obvious to me. A computer screen is another interface that can be watched, intercepted or corrupted by an attacker.
Interface wise ,would you prefer typing on a small device which can barely fit your thumb or a computer which would give you  a better view of the keys being typed ? Touch screen can stop working,break on dropping the device on the floor,become unresponsive.Are you considering these negatives ?

I'm not saying computers don't hang but the recovery time would be much faster than  trezor.Anyway,it's subjective.
1722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which casino site is the best on: March 02, 2018, 07:42:33 PM
Built up in 2014 Fortune Jack is presumably the most trusted Bitcoin casino out there. It is provably reasonable and directed by the Curacao government. There are more than 500 games accessible on Fortune Jack. Stores are accessible through a few cryptographic forms of money, for example, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Dash and some more.
If I could I would slap you with HaHa's!!

Man,they have a scam accusation against them every week or so and that's not it,in every other scam accusation they come off as cheaters with stupid reasoning as in why the problem happened.Literally took them 3 months to process someone's 0.50 btc withdrawal.Guess what,you have a different definition of "trust".

I do not like these four gambling sites much, I prefer bustadice to dice gambling, though I still watch the gamblers play there, I will definitely be entering a huge amount to gamble there because I have seen some users who have gained a big win
Okay ? So people don't win 'huge' on other gambling sites ?  Undecided
1723  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: TREZOR Model T touchscreen on: March 02, 2018, 07:35:37 PM
Pretty much. It just comes down to personal preference. One upside of a touch screen is probably that it will last longer compared to the buttons of the Trezor and Ledger Nano S, as they just feels so fragile in my opinion. Personally I'll stick with the Ledger Nano S though, I prefer that sort of USB flash drive look.
It's funny, I was thinking the exact opposite. In m mind it's another think to go wrong that I can't fix. Touch screens are nice, but adding complexity to something that is not user serviceable that can control money is bad IMO.
-Dave
My point as well.What is next ? Trezor wallet now comes with an inbuilt mp3 player and supports Bluetooth audio connections up-to storage capacity of 8 gbs ? This isn't product development,it's dissolving the cause  product was designed for.

Anything that takes as much functionality as possible away from a computer gets a thumbs up from me. The creativity of nefarious types is only going to get better and better. If you have to buy a Thai chicken to do your touchscreen typing then that's a cost worth paying.
How does touch-screen change anything ? Read the point above,creativity shouldn't make a duck look like a buffalo.That isn't art,this is just plain randomness.
1724  Economy / Lending / Re: how genuine is ICO Lending why have companies faltered and closed shop on: March 02, 2018, 07:30:24 PM
Few days back their was craze for companies offering 42 to 28 %  through lending platform.  but with the fall of big guns like BIT Connect, Davor Coin, BTE, BCC cash ,NEO Connect ,Ethconnect  etc investors are wary about ICOs offering lending program . want to have an idea why lending ICOs have  failed , were they scams or they failed on account of regulations
To sum it all up in a single line : People are fuckin greedy and to not be trusted.Those companies failed terribly because they tried to use the traditional lending methods and put it on the chain hoping a decentralised network would change the way scammers think about loans.It is almost virtually not possible to distribute free money when other party doesn't hold anything worthy as a collateral.

I can give you an example of one of the lending services called Get-line loans.I invested 0.05 and never ever got the money back.It is not their fault completely but it is just never going to work out.

I am looking to store my password in a way i can remember years down the track.

I will have 2 passwords to access my private key.

The password is some where in this set of mixed numbers and letters etc.

20-24 characters long.

Question: Would this be a good way to store my password?
No this is definitely not a good way of storing passwords.You are simply creating another layer of password to remember your old password with bunch of numbers and keys which technically at some level is encryption.Sadly,if you forget your combination of the new layer,your original password will be unrecoverable.Get a password manager or something if remembering passwords is that big of a problem for you.
1726  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BigChain DB - How to use it? on: March 02, 2018, 07:09:30 PM
I have been researching on it to get a blockchain to host files and web servers and pages. I came across to them
They certainly host the web servers for you.I'm assuming they run a private chain which isn't based on ETH or any other coin that is they have created the project from scratch.This statement clearly explains it
Quote
BigchainDB is for developers and organizations looking for a queryable database with blockchain characteristics such as decentralization, immutability and the ability to treat anything stored in the database as an asset. Whether it’s atoms, bits or bytes of value, any real-world blockchain application needs performance. A perfect fit for BigchainDB.

From my understanding, bigchaindb is a private blockchain, is it possible for us to create a public group of nodes using their technology?
Public group of nodes ? Since everything runs on a chain,isn't everything connected internally ? That is every node is being served the data someway or the other ? Since they can let you query a database,I'm assuming they have the ability to run a private chain and separate for every database made.
1727  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BigChain DB - How to use it? on: March 02, 2018, 10:52:31 AM
I found this project https://www.bigchaindb.com/

If any expert can give me insights on if we can use it as replacement to cloud storage and hosting?

and also how it works technically? is it a p2p storage
Damn! I feel I just a technically golden treasure right there !! Where did you come across this ? For now,they seem to have Api for only Python and Node.js backend languages.

Code:
const driver = require('bigchaindb-driver')

const alice = new driver.Ed25519Keypair()
const conn = new driver.Connection(
    'https://test.bigchaindb.com/api/v1/',
    { app_id: 'Get credentials from testnet.bigchaindb.com',
      app_key: 'by signing up and going to your Applications screen' })
const tx = driver.Transaction.makeCreateTransaction(
    { message: '' },
    null,
    [ driver.Transaction.makeOutput(
        driver.Transaction.makeEd25519Condition(alice.publicKey))],
    alice.publicKey)
const txSigned = driver.Transaction.signTransaction(tx, alice.privateKey)
conn.postTransaction(txSigned)

That is everything you need to know.Is there anything specific you need the information for ? This tutorial shows how you can host their server locally : https://docs.bigchaindb.com/projects/server/en/latest/quickstart.html .They also provide their network to take care of your server if you sign up and stuff.I'm still trying to implement this on a live platform.
1728  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project - Zero Exchange on: March 02, 2018, 09:26:52 AM
Answer 1 - Jobs are not paid because I am developing the beta phase and only after that phase will we work on the physical part to become a company. And then we will begin to organize the earnings of each employee.
Okay so you're precisely looking for core team members who will share the equity I suppose ? Nice.

2 - Internal rates seem to be the main point of the profit of the platform, but it is exorbitant which means that even with a subscription plan is very profitable, multiply the value of the plan by the value of total users is very interesting the return.
Sorry but I did not understand.A member signs up for a service and pays a subscription fee,after that you will cater that user with all your services for free ? This indeed sounds lucrative but also you need to constantly have new subscribers to stay profitable in the long run.
1729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Craze in Africa on: March 02, 2018, 07:49:15 AM

Bitcoin seems to be taking over Africa in a slow but steady manner, major economic hubs in Africa such as Nairobi, Lagos and Johannesburg are adopting BTC as a number of people are finding out that crypto offers a cheaper option to extensive problems. well they maybe late adopters but still have joined the course to spread BTC awareness and usage

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-42582343
I don't those places/cities constitute or represent Africa.They might have started adopting  a bit due to availability of technical advancements but the whole bunch of villages in other parts of the continent are yet to receive electricity.Money transfers is least of their problems if you look at it.Mass adoption is only accountable when the proportion of people having resources is more than the people not having them.Anyway,it's good thing to know cities have started to know about cryptos.

 Huh
Since money distribution problem is nowhere that evident as in Africa (you know that there is enough food for everybody in each of the countries infamous for mass starvation?), I think that blockchain can really help them, and we, the community, must really work on the adoption there, it could mean literally saving lives.
The problem is not fast solvable though - not just because cryptos are still far from being able to solve anything (scalability, whales (centralization), fees, security.....), but because lots of people in Africa don't have the access to modern technologies.

However, back to the news, we are still talking about rich parts of Africa - they don't need it that much, but it has to start somewhere.
I concur.
1730  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project - Zero Exchange on: March 02, 2018, 07:30:14 AM
Interesting.
1.Are the jobs paid ?
2.You said the exchange would work without any external service fees,how are you planning to take profits that way ? That one time fee doesn't really help chip in for developers salary,servers,maintenance costs etc.
3.Will there be a escrow service involved in all this ?

The project looks promising but you need to think of your business model.
1731  Economy / Reputation / Re: Negative trust... on: March 02, 2018, 07:22:11 AM
I got a negative trust for asking for merits because i read where a hero member said i could make 100 quality posts and still not get any, he said the best way to get merit is to just ask.I
I'm interested to know who this genius is and where exactly this suggestion was made.Provide us a link maybe so we can tag him as well ?

So thats what i did, im new it was a mistake and because i did so some highrank gave me a neg trust even after i deleted, what was said and appologizing... how can i build my trust up, im loyal and i have a hero member who has like a positive 30 trust who can vouch for me,

Danny's thread explains your situation much better https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3038959.msg31270318#msg31270318

1732  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: i got scammed for 25k digibytes on luckygames.io on: March 02, 2018, 07:16:23 AM
//snipe
Am I the only one wondering if the website owner is the only one responsible behind the back ? He would have access to the user's password and once he realised someone made a huge profit,he instantly logged in to the account and transferred money back.Since the casino we are talking about is involved in numerous shady activities,there are more chances they doing this to a lot of customers.
1733  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★Crypto-Games.net ★ 10 coins ★ 7 games ★ Since 2014 ★ Largest crowdfunded casino on: February 28, 2018, 08:04:47 PM
you give luckygames.io owner neg trust. why dont you read luckygames  thread before throwing around neg. trust
I don't like this thread to be derailed for professional reasons.I could ask you to fuck off but in the most polite way possible,if you have personal issues with Lutpin,please take it to the Reputation section.Shilling for C graded casinos is not appreciated and I refer to such shillers as "scum" of the forum.

owner was at the ICE gaming confernce all week. he just got back today and unlocked the players account
Why do you think Lutpin/DogeCoinMachine/Crypto-games.net would give a flying fuck about some C graded casino owner's private life ?

1734  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Exchanging mined BitCoins to other currencies on: February 28, 2018, 07:57:38 PM
So, I would install Coinomi on my iPhone, setup a BitCoin wallet on that which I transfer into from my NiceHash wallet every month or so. And then in Coinomi I could set up other wallets for other currencies and exchange the coins.
Precisely.However I would recommend not to store coins on Coinomi if the volume is large and you wish to hold it for a long time.Might sound a bit off-topic but you should rather store your coins on a simple wallet like Electrum if not Core.
As long as exchanging them to other coins is concerned,I think rather go with the reputed exchanges which is certain offer far more variety of coins than Coinomi.

If the coins are stored on my phone, what happens if I break the phone and buy a new one?
Ideally,your recovery can be done using  a recovery passphrase provided if you had backed it up.If you lose your phrase and access to the phone,there are slime chances of you getting your money back.Please read more about it here https://coinomi.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/folders/29000050840

I own a dice site: https://www.zoomdice.com

I will not sell the site. But i am willing to sell 25% of it's share.
Your website is called off as a scam in the community and on the forum.Don't know why would anybody consider buying your website.Again what would you share 25% of when you are barely making any money as far as I understand.Don't tell me idiots are still losing their monies here ?
1737  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you see trading as fun and games? on: February 24, 2018, 03:22:23 PM
Trading is a big game and fun to me, especially when am glue to my system or phone for hours monitoring my buy and sell orders and waiting for that time to make that huge 4x profit. what a fun  Cool Cool
It's all fun and games until one of the governments bust your ass and freezes your accounts with million dollars.Those digits don't always go 4*,they also fall to zero and never rise up from there.It's no fun & games then ?
1738  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Security status in Cryptocurrency exchanges on: February 24, 2018, 02:26:24 PM
You can just google the terms..

That's an interesting graphic. Can you explain what some of the elements mean? What does "strict transport" do, and what are public key pins?

Basically,they're headers.I'm sure you won't understand if you're coming from a non-technical/programming background.

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Headers/Strict-Transport-Security

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Public_Key_Pinning

@OP these mentioned are just surface level security mechanisms.Pretty sure most of these websites are easily prone to other attacks like SQL Injection etc.What is your source of data for the graphs ?
1739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to airdrop the tokens? on: February 24, 2018, 02:17:03 PM
HI,

Can any one tell me the procedure to air drop the tokens. Assume i have to send the tokens to 10,000 people. It is not practically possible to send one by one. Is there an easy way out for this?  How other token founders are airdropping? Please explain....
IN 2018 on bitcointalk,this is how you air-drop
 - Hire an incompetent idiot as your bounty manager.
 - Ask to hire someone who brings on 1000 bounty whores from 3rd world countries in your telegram group.
 - You don;t know what an air-drop is so you ask your bounty manager who doesn't know shit either.
 - From your question,I'm afraid I think you have no idea what an air-drop is.
1740  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I made a thing. Moon Banking lets you rank banks on crypto-friendliness. on: February 24, 2018, 12:57:36 PM
For someone who is not interested in voting but would like to see the results in some sort of graph ,do you have a feature implemented ? Would be nice to it have to show which banks are more crypto-friendly compared to others.Also the voting system is easily abusive,implement an IP based captcha or something.
