2041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is scarcer than gold. on: May 18, 2022, 05:16:42 PM
While this is of course true I think it’s important to note that there are many more differences when it comes to comparing bitcoin and gold. Personally I can’t stand this comparison and don’t understand why so many people are so quick to compare the two. Gold is a physical asset, a metal, and used for a lot more things than bitcoin is, such as use in cars, electronics, jewelry etc.

I guess this kind of comparison is somehow obvious as a lot of people refer BTC as the "digital gold" where its inflationary value are similarly alike to gold's limited resources.

The problem with BTC is that its supply is nearly capped to 21 million, whereas gold, while the latter is a non-renewable resource, has the potential of increasing its supply by constant discovery in our ecosystem. With technologies advancing as years passed by, there are tons of potentials being discovered by the world into learning if gold is truly that "scarce" as many had believed it on.

Unlike in BTC, everyone knows that its supply is limited and by the year 2140, all of these BTCs would be mined completely.
2042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your epic fail experience in gambling on: May 18, 2022, 05:06:10 PM
Back in 2020, I have some funds inside an online gambling wallet that I received from the proceeds of my campaign signature. So I moved them out but not entirely- to the point that I attempted to gamble on the website itself to at least show some support from the company.

Fortunately, I won 4 consecutive rounds of blackjack and it gained me an increase of around 520% from my original proceeds. Well as someone who is somehow impatient and young, I tried gambling every resource in one go which resulted to a total loss on my part. I know, it sounds so stupid but what I did taught me the experience and foundation of betting.
2043  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My first novice view towards Bitcoin on: May 17, 2022, 05:30:19 PM
...... <snip>
So I bought Bitcoin of 75 $ in the wallet I created and left there till TWO DAYS time to check if revelation are true..
So after everything I went back to my wallet to check if my bitcoin has grown to better amount all to my greatest suprise.. Bitcoin of 75 $ reduce greatly to 47$ I was so scared I knew not that it can reduce too...so I immediately withdrawed everything having a loss ..and since then I am conscious with anything Bitcoin..

So I cut most of your messages and highlighted and bolded the important part of what you mentioned. Purchasing BTC is an investment- it is not like a magic trick where if you leave it for a matter of two days, you will definitely gain any profit. If it were this easy, then everyone would be considered as a millionaire.

Though this may be the case, I do not blame you for such but it is still your responsibility to do your respective research on the subject before investing. Unfortunately, lots of newbie investors have done the same thing you just did. They invest into something due to the hype (without any research) and subsequently pull-out their investments when they see its price drop.

I just hope you learn from this lesson as investing into cryptocurrencies is not a one trick pony.
2044  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Brand Name Vs Site Functionality? Or Both? on: May 17, 2022, 05:10:15 PM
I see a lot of great Casinos and Sports Betting platforms here that doesn't really have great brand name but have excellent functionalities and quality designs. While some ( not so many) do have both great designs,  functionality and perfect brand name, so many majority simply don't. So, I was wondering. If I'm going to spend so much money to build a great gambling platform, why not just spend extra little more to acquire a great name? After all, nothing is greater in business than your brand equity.

What do you think? I'd like to understand the mindset of some gambling operators and start ups. What do you consider to be the most important in your gambling startup? Great name or site functionality or both?

Just like any other book, what truly catches the attention of a potential buyer is the subject, title, and cover of its book. While this may sound outrageous, the famous idiom "do not judge a book by its cover" was born. The same principle applies in gambling website- the name in itself should be catchy, like it gives gamblers an idea on what to expect on the gambling website.

Just to give you a few examples, blackjack.fun is a gambling website named after the famous card game "black jack" so you would expect that some of its games are mostly focused on it. Again like you mentioned, it is indeed better to invest or at least brainstorm on the name of a gambling website so you could attract more users in the process.
2045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Holding or Using ? on: May 17, 2022, 04:22:00 PM
We all know about BTC Holding and we all encourage it, and on the other hand we are also happy when we see someone buying a car with BTC. My point is, if we hold btc all the time, where is our profit if it is not used, and if it is just holding without using, how will its value increase? And why are we happy when we see someone buy something from btc?  This issue has been circulating in my mind for a long time, what do you think about it?

Your expenditure should always be align with your goals- just like any other investment, you should categorize and decide when to use them since they are of value when converted to cash.

The reason on why some HODL BTC is because of its significant value in the market, unlike any other investment available. Due to its volatility, it is also the perfect mechanism for either short or long-term investment depending on your goals. Generally, you should HODL your BTCs until its price reaches a desired limit depending on what you have decided the moment you started investing on it.
2046  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to hold in peace on: May 14, 2022, 11:59:10 PM
Is it true that its wrong to hold coins for many years and never look back? Someone said coins can die in just two years, they can also lose demand and hype under a year, so how do one hold with zero worries?.

If you are planning on HODLing, at least invest in a coin that is stable enough for its price to hold in the market (e.g. BTC, ethereum, XRP, etc.). In addition, to the people who say that they invest without looking back, that is definitely some bad advice there. Regardless if you are HODLing for short or long-term, you must create a plan on when you should cashout. This should always depend on the % of profit you are comfortably selling.

Let us say that you purchased BTC at this current price (e.g. $30,000), then you could sell those coins once its price doubled on the market. It does not necessarily have to be a solid two (2) years, but it must be align with your goals on why you invested in the first place.
2047  Economy / Economics / Re: Will BTC be used as a world currency?? on: May 14, 2022, 11:55:13 PM
Citing the cases of El Salvador, Central African Republic, Panama and others who are looking to adopt the currency, is it possible to unite the world by using BTC as a world currency?? In 2018, the then CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, expressed a belief that Bitcoin could be embraced as a world currency in the next 10 years.  https://www.prescouter.com/2018/11/will-bitcoin-be-the-worlds-single-currency-in-10-years/

Like what I mentioned to post like these, BTC cannot be considered and used as the world currency even in the far future.

Remember that in order for something to be considered as a world currency, the concurrence of all countries must be generally accepted. In addition, its price must be stable enough to the point that the conversion rates will not prejudice those third-world countries. Given that BTC is inflationary in nature and is very volatile, I doubt that we will see it as a world currency- but I do believe that it may be considered as an alternative currency where we could purchase goods and services using it.
2048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A time people have been waiting for bitcoin to drop on: May 14, 2022, 11:51:32 PM
Hello 👋
Okay, presently I want to ask why the sudden panicking around the media and forum here.
I could ones remembered when bitcoin was +$69k and everyone seems to be panicking for the price to get 32k or below. Today we have another chance to buy very low yet people still waiting for the price to drop even more lower.
I want to know when is the best time to buy or waiting more dip to buy and what if the price turns back to bull?
What do we do?

I personally advocate that the best time to invest into BTC is the time that you found out/discover about its existence, and this applies exclusively for beginners.

The beauty about investing into BTC is its volatility- it is somehow a double-edged sword that the outcome may either make or break your capital in the next following days/weeks/months. Given that the prices of BTC had been crashing (with its worst price since 2016), people are taking advantage of this opportunity to invest and HODL for long-term.
2049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Western Conference Finals (Warriors vs Suns/Mavericks) on: May 14, 2022, 11:19:51 PM
2 days from now, we will know the winner of the Suns vs Mavericks game, I like to read your advance insights on the upcoming WCF.

Warriors are back again, if they'll face the Suns, I think they'll be the underdog, but if they'll face the Mavericks, they are the obvious favorites.
Cheer for your team now, what team do you think will be in the NBA Finals?

As someone who has been cheering for GSW ever since 2016, my money is with them throughout this palyoff run!

I really think that Warriors has the capability of winning this playoffs given the nature of their experiences, individual skillset, group chemistry, and great shooting. While Curry may be somehow inconsistent in this run, with the return of Klay it somehow solidified their position as a contender for this playoffs. I just think that with the support Curry has with the surrounding talent he got with his teammates, and Wiggins getting consistent, GSW has the potential of winning!
2050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WE NEED A HALL OF FAME? on: May 14, 2022, 07:27:52 PM
As much as I want to commend the idea, this would actually give some sort of promotion towards the gambling website in which people are betting on. Since a hall of fame is considered as the benchmark of achievements of players, this would somehow benefit a gambling website in terms of free advertisement and promotion.

Though I do not have any problems with it, this can be easily tampered with in the event that a person may claim to have some winnings on "X" gambling website but in fact that the latter is a fake website at all. I just hope that before the implementation of this idea, people would be able to share their thoughts and recommend some ideas that would somehow help in creating this feature.
2051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 BTC = 1 BTC. You only lose if you sell. You're buying inflationary fiat. on: May 14, 2022, 07:19:14 PM
It's funny and sad to see all people panicking. They are selling and losing. They're buying inflationary fiat Grin Do they even know it?

Remember guys, 1 BTC will always equal 1 BTC and the supply is very limited. If you can see this in the long run you will be a winner. Of course, chickens will run home as always Smiley

Don't worry, HODL, BTC will come back stronger than before. To The Moon! BTC

- Let the haters feel good, this is all they can do anyway.

Like what I also mentioned into several similar posts like these, it is easier said than done especially if a person has more than a couple of BTCs in their wallet. This means that the slightest shift to its price, whether a slight increase/decrease, means a gain/loss of over thousands to millions of $$$ in the process. But I do agree with your statement, 1 BTC will always be equal to 1 BTC regardless of its value in the market and its inflationary nature.

That is why, always HODL for the meantime especially if you are not experiencing any financial strains or conflict. Treat these as your long-term investments just like any other blue chip companies.
2052  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Something like na easy way to double your money on: May 14, 2022, 07:07:40 PM
Hi guys,

There is a "pyramid" on the rise.
Basically you make a registration on a website, which requires only an username, password and phone number.
The entry fee is minimum of 100 USDT. Each day you enter the website and "make 50 spins" you get 4% on the amount you have entered with.
In around 20-25 days you double the amount of USDT you have entered with
If you can get people to enter using your unique invitation code, you get bonuses.

I realize its a huge scheme, but if it lasts for enough time, you can manage to get yourself a nice amount on top of your money.
Anyone interested - message me Smiley

Classic ponzi scheme- offering a service to double your money in a relatively faster method which requires a minimum deposit.

To all the people contemplating whether they should try or attempt to invest in a ponzi scheme or any related deposits such as this, avoid it at all cost. Based purely from my experience, ponzi-schemes are attractive enough to get the attention of newbies and ultimately invest on their website. On the first few days, you can actually see your investments increasing but after a week, the website will start to crash, thereby causing you to lose everything on the process.

That is why, I really warn everyone to avoid these kinds of projects as it would only lead to one result- you losing your precious resources and/or capital.
2053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Environmental groups urge US government to take action on crypto miners on: May 14, 2022, 07:31:28 AM
Lol! It's hilarious! It seems only crypto mining companies produce pollution and no one else does that. The heavy industries generate way more pollution than all crypto mining put together. But I believe the environmentalists are going crazy because most of the mining operations are for personal benefits rather than public benefits. I believe that's the main pain point for them.

If some countries seek to ban mining operations, there will be other countries who will open up for migration. Crypto is a serious business now!

I find it very hilarious that these organizations tend to focus more on the pollution that cryptocurrency mining has effected but they chose to ignore other pollutants that are significantly hazardous to the environment. For example, there are tons of oil companies, minings, deforestation, and other huge establishments that garner significant damage to the environment, yet they only focus on the small guys.

Though like some have mentioned, this research came from a person who is highly questionable in their researches. That is why, I doubt that these environmental groups would do any damage to these crypto miners.
2054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Commentary and commentators in sports. on: May 14, 2022, 06:55:53 AM
Commentary is underated in sports and commentators are not giving enough recognition for the role they play in sports.

I had this recent experience where I streamed live a recent premier league game and it had no audio, although it was expected to be an exciting game, I did not enjoy the game, not until the audio came up and i could now hear the commentary.

Commentators add colour and enhance our viewing experience, they are well informed about the sport and the teams in contest, and give real time updates on a live game that can even make someone new to a sport pick interest. Without commentary and sports commentators, some sporting games will be entirely very unexciting and eventually boring to watch.

Can you enjoy your sports viewing experience without commentary and  commentators?

I wholeheartedly agree with your post. As someone who loves hearing people from the background commentating, it just feels so different whenever you watch a game without any live commentary. I remember, I watched this highlights in NBA where the announcer got disconnected briefly and watching like some seconds of the game felt so bleak.

I also remember another instance where I watched live commentaries of Dota 2 tournaments where the announcer hyped every single clash and battles. These people really bring another element to the game- they actually attract more people into the game as they bring more excitement while watching the whole series.
2055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever thought of doing your thesis on Gambling ? on: May 13, 2022, 08:38:31 PM
It would be quite interesting and I am sure there must be already a number of scientific studies around gambling. I am sure the casinos have requested and financed this type of works, just like McDonalds has perfect knowledge of the views of its clients and has carefully designed all the products. I think the field is certainly still open with the gambling on-line to economic, psicological or other studies.

If ever we create a topic or a thesis about gambling, it has to be something that has not been discussed yet. Like something that can actually contribute knowledge to the gambling industry/sphere since there are already lots of studies with regard to gambling, in general.

Like what you also mentioned, creating a thesis about gambling requires time, effort, and resources on your end. It has to be something worthwhile- something that will bring benefit to the public as it will definitely outweigh your personal needs for them.
2056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PROS AND CONS OF CRRYPTOGAMBLING. on: May 12, 2022, 05:15:57 PM
Pros: You can earn Money
Cons: It’s not guaranteed

Pros: You may be able to earn money
Cons: You will most likely lose money

When I first learned that there was a crypto casino I was a little hesitant. For me, crypto is something that is highly valued, and something that many can't get. Because of this, I was a little skeptical about whether or not I would enjoy the experience of gambling with it. I was afraid that because of this value attached, I would not enjoy my gambling experience.
I guess it's just the difference between putting your money into something that has no value to you and buying something that has real value.

Like what I always tell someone whenever they gamble using cryptocurrency, I always tell them to avoid using BTC due to the latter's potential of its price increasing in the future. If it is possible, try to gamble using a different cryptocurrency instead and save your BTCs for investments.

Just like normal gambling, the chances of you winning are not guaranteed and absolute. There is always that element of risk whenever you gamble- that is why do not expect that you will win every single games that you play.
2057  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto trading has caused more depression in 2021/2022 on: May 12, 2022, 05:01:47 PM
In the past few days, the crypto market has taken a diped turn.
People have committed suicides.
What more should we expect

Is this what has been happening now? Do you have any verified sources to support your claim about these suicides rates that has been happening?

Anyway, given that the prices of BTC has dropped significantly and almost by half, it is but normal for everyone to panic especially to the HODLers who have millions worth of $$$ in their respective accounts. But, a cryptocurrency investor would most likely look at the positive side of the spectrum- this volatility is nothing but normal and they would take advantage to acquire more in the process.
2058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: May 12, 2022, 11:36:58 AM

I would not advise anyone to play with the computer (unless it's a problem solving or tactical assault on chess.com which is very funny and useful for developing tactical thinking) as the computer plays boring (and hard even if you adjust the difficulty level) - it beats everything mood to play. Playing with a person is always more adrenaline and entertainment.
I am not sure it is the right time to learn playing board games. People do not have time to play board games.
THese board games were popular in 90's when friends and cousins used to get together and there was no distraction like mobile phones and TV. Chess is also dying game.

I wholeheartedly disagree with your last statement saying that Chess is a dying game. In fact, it is actually the opposite of what you just said!

Ever since the release of Queen's Gambit on NetFlix, the popularity of Chess has been steadily increasing over the years. With a lot of Chess GMs (Grand Masters) streaming on Twitch and/or YouTube, lots of beginners have started to watch them and learn the basics and fundamentals as explained by these players.

Given also that our Chess World Champion is rather a cool guy who consistently communicates with people (Magnus Carlsen), the popularity of Chess has been off-the-roof compared to the previous years.
2059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know why Bitcoin price is dropping down ? Don't Ask Satoshi ? Just buy ! on: May 12, 2022, 11:22:16 AM
While I definitely advocate in this idea, investors may take it difficult right now given that some have invested thousands or millions of dollars into cryptocurrency that the slightest movement of its price may mean a loss/gain of millions of dollars in their accounts. But I do agree, this kind of opportunity happens rarely (or not) and new investors must take advantage of this time while the price of BTC is continuously going down.

For current investors who have suffered losses in this time, HODL and remain focused on the end goal. The volatility of cryptocurrencies is a normal occurrence and take courage in the following days/weeks/months during this very bearish market.
2060  Economy / Economics / Re: Sanction the the right option? on: May 11, 2022, 05:39:55 PM
The only probelm with Russia might be :
- Being pushed to the side they might try and use Nuclear weapons
- They are already thinking of using chemical agents on the people

Therefore other than that :
- Sanctions are going to cut off the economic supply to Russia and indirectly cut off all the money that's going to the war
- I understand it's causing probelms with the people living here but at the same time it's super essential to do to show that everyone is United and supporting Ukraine
- without sanctions they cannot stop the fight, funding and there would be no basis for talks as well.

The sanctions that have been imposed definitely took Russia some sort of economic damage to their finances. Due to the trade limits imposed, some of the big and huge businesses from across the globe were compelled to leave the country, resulting to a shortage and an inflation to the current supply of products in Russia. Just like what happened in North Korea, such country was isolated, thus most of its citizens are suffering from food shortages and poverty (one big factor is the improper expenditure of North Korea's wealth).

I just hope that this would not seriously prejudice the countries once Russia starts to threat it with its nuclear weapons and bombs. If such thing were to happen, then every country would unite to prevent this chaotic event from happening.
