2061  Economy / Economics / Re: Sanction the the right option? on: May 11, 2022, 05:39:55 PM
The only probelm with Russia might be :
- Being pushed to the side they might try and use Nuclear weapons
- They are already thinking of using chemical agents on the people

Therefore other than that :
- Sanctions are going to cut off the economic supply to Russia and indirectly cut off all the money that's going to the war
- I understand it's causing probelms with the people living here but at the same time it's super essential to do to show that everyone is United and supporting Ukraine
- without sanctions they cannot stop the fight, funding and there would be no basis for talks as well.

The sanctions that have been imposed definitely took Russia some sort of economic damage to their finances. Due to the trade limits imposed, some of the big and huge businesses from across the globe were compelled to leave the country, resulting to a shortage and an inflation to the current supply of products in Russia. Just like what happened in North Korea, such country was isolated, thus most of its citizens are suffering from food shortages and poverty (one big factor is the improper expenditure of North Korea's wealth).

I just hope that this would not seriously prejudice the countries once Russia starts to threat it with its nuclear weapons and bombs. If such thing were to happen, then every country would unite to prevent this chaotic event from happening.
2062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Women's participation into cryptospace - Increased? on: May 11, 2022, 05:19:29 PM
In an article read about the increasing interest among the women's to get into the digital space and educate themselves. This in particular is much about the mom's and not the girls. They find this a place where they can able to invest and leave something to their kids. Most of these mom's were interested in teaching their kids about the developing technology and for that some are learning it. One of the mom mentioned
Quote
My whole point was, I want to educate myself. I lived in Seattle during the dot com bubble and I had no voice or power to do anything.

Quote
The majority of mom investors interviewed by NBC News claimed that they were interested in crypto as a way to “meaningfully change” the financial security of their families

More and More Moms Are Embracing Crypto to Help Their Families Get Richer

This is actually great news given that more and more people are starting to have interest in the cryptocurrency world.

Not to discriminate any gender or to be sexist but majority of the females in the population are often left focused on the household activities. The fact that they can access and gain information in the internet in learning cryptocurrencies is a major breakthrough that everyone must be proud of. Again, the more people that get interested into this sphere, the more that it would be beneficial in the long-run for the cryptocurrency world to further develop.
2063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: May 11, 2022, 02:23:35 AM
Guys, I'm a total noob and inexperienced with regards to chess.
Could anyone tell me which platforms or websites you watch these matches on?

Is it on Youtube!!? Any other relevant information!!??

There are tons of materials available in the internet but I would highly recommend watching videos from Daniel Naroditsky. He has courses on his YouTube channel that teaches opening techniques and theory. I also recommend chess.com and subscribing to their monthly promos. They also teach basic chess principle that would somehow give you an understanding of the fundamentals of the game.

As someone who has been playing chess for more than 10+ years, I also recommend watching several games from Agadmator's channel. It really helped me observe tactics and understand the thinking of GMs in their respective field and games.
2064  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $1.6 billion stolen in cryptocurrency 2022 first quarter 165% higher on: May 10, 2022, 06:04:43 PM
I am not surprised it's happening, especially with the so many half-baked DeFi projects and exchanges that we have. Where there is money, there will always be scammers and hackers.
The problem is crypto is always victimized because.... we most people don't want to see crypto succeed, but I am very sure even other financial agencies have lots of fiat money stolen. However, that doesn't make headlines like any bad news about crypto does.

I think another factor is in the nature of cryptocurrencies- lots of people can actually create NFTs or shitcoins to the point that it can give them the access to pull out instantly. Given the hype surrounded by most of these projects, scammers take advantage of this time and hype to create more hacks that would render more losses in the cryptocurrency world.

Unfortunately, these are the things that are to be expect in a decentralized currency. That is why, to combat this is you have to be diligent and responsible enough to the projects you are planning to invest on. I just hope that the security would be strengthen- but having that sense of caution is still the best way to avoid any problems like these.
2065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it Really Trustworthy? on: May 10, 2022, 05:39:40 PM
Suppose you woke up tomorrow morning and found that Bitcoin had dropped to 0$, or that Bitcoin had disappeared or been scammed. How will you be at that moment?

Although this is materially impossible (unless there is a global-scale movement against cryptocurrencies), then I think this would convince me to purchase at least a thousand BTCs and HODL them for long-term. Even if there would be a movement against such cryptocurrencies, the value of purchasing them relative to the hope of their prices increasing in the near future is high. I guess everyone would exactly do this movement and its price would skyrocket eventually in the market.

To the people who decided to stop investing, that would be a huge mistake. Again, what drives the price of BTC is the law of demand and supply. Assuming that this were the case, then everyone would be purchasing cryptocurrencies in the market, thereby increasing its price.
2066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler turns 60 pence bet into £157,865.59 on: May 10, 2022, 02:36:32 PM
Quote
A gambler turned a 60p bet into £157,865.59 this weekend when two Premier League teams came from behind. The punter correctly predicted all 16 results on Saturday in the Premier League and Championship at odds of over 263,109/1, and while the majority came in with relative ease, late comebacks were needed in two 3pm top-flight games.

How can you explain such fortunate winning happening for real? It looks unlikely and unrealistic even for a Hollywood movie script!
Imagine the sequence of events needed in order to deliver the results that would perfectly fit the predictions of this impressive lucky gambler.

Actually, I guess luck purely can't explain this event, there must be something else! Or are these fake news?

This is gambling, after all. The chances of this happening are so minuscule that this happens only once in a blue moon. Well, gambling is indeed gambling and the odds are the odds. There will be times where the odds may be around 99% in your favor and you would still lose in the process.

In this very rare scenario, it just so happened that the person was winning against the odds and he came home winning hundreds of thousands of euros in his pocket. Well this may be considered as a Cinderella story, I highly advise people in betting large amounts and copying the same scenario as this guy did.
2067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ethereum at risk of serious losses on: May 09, 2022, 06:09:20 PM
Does this year repeat like 2018, this is a great opportunity to buy bitcoin maybe the big whale is waiting for the lowest price and they buy bitcoin in large quantities and they store it in the long term, I'm also waiting for that opportunity and let the next one or two years regret not taking advantage It's an opportunity like now.

I remember back in 2018, we had a similar scenario where the prices of most cryptocurrencies crashed on the market. Though there have been losses across millions of $$$, this indeed is a good opportunity to invest for either small or big-time investors. The 16% decrease on its price since the start of this year is not new- that is why I heavily recommend for users to start investing in this bearish phase for either short or long-term gains.

Again, volatility is what cryptocurrencies are known for. Rather than see this as a negative outcome, take this as an opportunity to invest and purchase more on the process.
2068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is fortunejack.com a Scam or are they Legit? on: May 09, 2022, 06:02:06 PM
They have been harassing me with adds, and I didn't remember any negative reviews, in fact I remembered good ones. Now I finally deposit, and when I go to withdraw they accuse me of multi-accounting? Has this happened to anyone else, or anyone know how I can clear this up? I might have had a really old account that I forgot about, but I'm really careful to never give online casino's an excuse to scam me?

100% a scam, at least for this player who got scammed out of 120,000 dollars sportsbets win. Flag is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=303298;page=iflags

You've never heard about such things in some reputable casinos like Rollbit or Stake right? It's very easy to accuse anybody of multi accounting when he wants to withdraw

I am very happy they ended up paying you but think about why did they accuse you of multi accounting if they were going to pay anyway. It's just putting hardships for people who simply want to withdraw their money from their platform

If you have any evidence against fortune jack, I suggest putting and creating a thread on the scam accusation board for such. Again, a gambling company which has been around for many + years would never put themselves into jeopardy by destroying the reputation they have built for years.

Like what I also previously mentioned, they have an ongoing signature campaign which heavily implies that the profit cycle is liquid enough. If they can afford the luxury of paying signature campaigns, then I doubt that they would necessary scam its users along the way.
2069  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen if Tesla decided to sell its Bitcoin? on: May 07, 2022, 08:40:00 PM
Just like the primary machinery that drives and effects the price of BTC, if Tesla decided to sell its entire BTC holdings then its price would fall on the market.

Given that there are lots of BTCs being stored by Tesla, the liquidation of such would result to an increase of supply in the market thereby reducing its general price. Though this may happen, its price would somehow stabilize in the following weeks given that the nature of BTCs are inflationary. Its price is bound to increase in the following years given its 21 million capped supply.
2070  Economy / Economics / Re: Get, Save & Invest. on: May 07, 2022, 08:27:48 PM
Get Money - Save money - Invest money.
Follow the cycle and don't stop half way.

Get Money- Popular opinion is that you need money to get money, any contrary opinion?
Once you have started getting money the next objective should be how to get more.

Save money- To save money is good, another popular opinion to support this is that , the money you save today will save you tomorrow.
The problem however results when you just keep saving money pointlessly without any plans on how what to do with it, The worse of all is saving money in fiat banks, that money will loose value in no time at all.

Invest money- This for me is the last stage in the cycle that creates more money for you to be able to get more money. More money betters ones opportunities.

Follow the cycle, don't stop halfway at saving money.

Just to add on this very important list, only invest the money that you are willing to lose. Given that the nature of cryptocurrencies that they are volatile, expect that its price may change at anytime without any given notice. Lots of people who joined the bandwagon did not understand the nature of BTC, in which they complained when they saw that their investment decreased on its value within like a week.

Before investing, try to understand the dynamics and the fundamentals of it. Without even knowing what you are investing on, you would most likely suffer at the end and pull-out your investments in the long-run without even profiting.
2071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA _ Phoenix Suns vs Dallas Mavericks - 2nd round on: May 07, 2022, 03:52:22 PM
This is another official match-up.

It's Luka vs Booker and CP3 vs Brunson.

What team do you like to win, and why do you believe they will win?

Head to head record.
Mavericks have never won a single game in the last 9 games they met.
Will that record be enough to determine that the Mavericks here as no chance to win?

Finally, Dallas was able to snag a victory agains the powerhouse Suns. I was actually expecting that Dallas might blew this one up due to the lack of their players in this playoffs but Luka was able to define the odds. He is just unguardable on the field and he finishes so strong that the %fg gives him the highest percent on the field. As much as I want to root for Dallas, I doubt that they will be able to win against the Suns here.

Like what I also mentioned, Dallas needs another consistent 25+ ppg player on the field to support Luka. Luke on himself is just magical but he needs a support to carry the burden of the others.
2072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: American University, Bentley now accepts crypto's for tuition payments. on: May 07, 2022, 11:58:12 AM
It is good news that they are offering the possibility, although I doubt that tuition fees will be paid in this way on a massive scale, in fact I think the opposite is true, payments in this way will be very few, if any. Most people buy cryptocurrencies as an investment, not to spend them as a substitute for the USD or their country's currency, even if that was the original idea of the bitcoin whitepaper.

I wonder how much would be the tuition fee since it will be entirely dependent on the value of cryptocurrencies.

Nevertheless, anything that supports cryptocurrencies as payment for a service/product is definitely beneficial in the long-run. Imagine, cryptocurrencies started as an investment mechanism; now it slowly evolves into an alternative currency for payments for products and services. Now, we see some countries start to accept it as legal tender. Eventually, we will see its slow but effective integration into our monetary and financial systems where the government would most likely accept it as a form of currency.
2073  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Standard of a Meritorious post on: May 06, 2022, 10:38:24 PM
It is a problem for the newbies getting merits, the eagerness is endless as they anticipate merit in any content they have put up effort with. But it seem not coming. Is it that those who have excess of merits reserves their generosity or there are laid down principles in writing a Meritorious contents.

Let's discuss them

I doubt that newbies are experiencing struggles to earn merits- I think this problem only extends to users who are desperate in earning merits.

Like what most have previously mentioned, earning merits is a job itself; one must at least commit that you are determined into sharing posts that will benefit the public in general. In addition, you can also earn merits if you attempt to report plagiarized posts or scams in the announcement thread. Bottomline is, hard work and patience are needed if one truly wants to earn merits.

Again, focus on creating constructive posts and avoid posting on mega threads as exposure is relatively low compared to other threads.
2074  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cash out issue with FortuneJack Casino on: May 06, 2022, 09:52:47 PM
EDIT:
SINCE FEW OF THE ANSWERS POINT OUT TO THE FACT THAT FORTUNEJACK IS A WELL RESPECT ONLINE CASINO, I WILL SAY IT AT FIRST.
I AM NOT GIVING A DEFAMATORY WITNESSING ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEM. IT IS JUST AN ISSUE I AM FACING AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SOLVE

It is actually a good thing that you recognize that Fortune Jack is one of those casinos that have a respectable feedback and reputation across the forum. They also have an ongoing and active campaign signature which further reinforces their eligibility and genuineness in the forum. Again just for your reassurance, I doubt that they would run away with your money given that they have built their reputation for years.

Fortunately like you mentioned, their customer service is active in responding to your messages. The fact that they kept on telling you and informing you about the issue, it means that they are also willing to settle and fix this somehow complicated misunderstanding.

I hope you get to fix your issue- constantly update this thread with your feedback, OP!

EDIT:

Quote
I also want to say that I received the cash out this morning, shortly after their notification by email.

Cheers for settling your issue with them! This actually makes it so much incredible that FJ was able to settle this issue as quickly as possible.

2075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PH banned online cockfighting - Worst gambling-related cases recorded! on: May 06, 2022, 06:57:29 PM
Let's discuss: (applies to all gambling-type)

- Do you think that your respective government will do the same even though that gambling is a big contributor to the government's revenue? It's a big sacrifice but no choice since lots of people got wrecked here and there are still unsolved cases of missing people.

I think that there has to be some sort of compromise in balancing the two (2) acts. Though gambling has brought tremendous amounts of revenue in a country, it has to balance the interest of minors and the welfare of the people in avoiding to get addicted. As long as the government can somehow address this issue, then I think these gambling establishments can remain.

Quote
- Is it really valid that we should blame the online cockfighting here that's why most people wrecked their lives?

Let me ask you a question, is it valid that we should blame guns for the violence caused by the people? Is it also valid that we blame McDonalds for the increase rate of obesity globally? Though the responsibility falls under the person gambling industry must also take some precautions in avoiding gambling addiction to their players.

2076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 19,400 BTC on: May 06, 2022, 05:24:09 PM
hello I saw that some site sells wallet.dat

I am currently trying to find out if anyone by any chance will have the wallet.dat file 19400 btc from 2010
because i am the owner of the wallet and i have the password to unlock it
I will give 1% btc to whoever can find me

Bitcoin Address  1PeizMg76Cf96nUQrYg8xuoZWLQozU5zGW

Like what most have mentioned, if those wallets are indeed true, then the owners would never sell them- I mean 19,400 BTC would equate to around $700 million dollars which would turn any person into a millionaire by seconds. If I were you, avoid dealing with these people and their shenanigans. Most likely like around 99% these kinds of deals would result to a scam.

Again, these kinds of deals should be avoided at once. I highly recommend that you report this website in the forum so that people would be notified at once. There is always that slight possibility that someone would fall into this trap.
2077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you really believe Satoshi is real?? on: May 06, 2022, 04:51:24 PM
Bitcoin is in many main languages but not Japanese. Why would the guy who created it not make it in his own language? Don't you find it suspicious MtGox is in Japan?
Also the project really isn't a success. A lot of progress still has to be made. Security is still an issue along with sites still growing. Anyone ever even talk to him? I'm not saying he isn't real I'm just putting this out there.

I do think that Satoshi is real- I mean he is the creator of the revolutionary payment method called BTC which shaped the future of transactions to date.

While he may be real, no one really knows who his real identity may be. He may be a group of persons or like an organization; he may even be a dead person already. Bottomline is, no one really knows who he really is but the fact that he created bitcoin means that his creation would be relevant in the years to come. Maybe in the far future, countries may adopt cryptocurrencies as a form of legal tender.
2078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: May 05, 2022, 04:45:57 PM
It was almost two months hard earned money. Got busted in few minutes. I don't know why I wasn't able to have me within the limits. Just started with a $3 bet, but it went upto $98 and ended with empty wallet. This is completely unlucky, because every bets were placed to roll above 20 which means the winning probability is quite high. Anyhow I wasn't in control and I didn't follow the rule gamble what you can afford to loss. It was a money saved to repay a debt. Now once again the interest needs to be paid so to manage the debt for some more time. Unlucky me  Sad Sad Sad

Well, the fact that you started with $3 and you ended up with around $98 before you bust everything all out makes you lucky. You are considered to be that top 5% of the gamblers who were able to at least earn 3000% on their initial bets. Though that is very unfortunate that you lost all of your winnings, the experience and lesson that you learned is valuable to the point that it teaches you self-control and discipline on your gambling spree.

I remember a time when my brother experienced the same scenario as yours. He kept winning and winning and he forgot to actually stop which resulted to an absolute loss of everything. Though this happened, it actually taught him how to be patient with his gambling winnings in general.
2079  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to know if my new topic has been posted by someone before on: May 05, 2022, 03:32:50 PM
Am a newbie here an I will like to know how I can confirm if my new topic to be posted has been posted already,so I don't disobey the rules or law.

Easiest and the most convenient way of knowing is by utilizing the search bar located on the top right hand corner. Just search some keywords or the subject of your thread to know if a topic has been posted before. Usually, there are moderators who delete repetitive threads and there are also some forum members who report such thread for being considered as a "spam."

2080  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a game you would like to see in an online crypto casino? on: May 05, 2022, 03:05:12 PM
I don't know if anyone here is familiar with Color Game. It is like you need to bet on a specific color. It only has 6 colors to bet on and there are 3 cubes with multiple colors that you need to bet. Your money will be doubled if one cube is match in your bet (if 3 cubes are the same color as your bet, you will win 3 times). I know some of you are familiar with this and also, I just saw an app  of this but haven't found so far as I know that there is online betting about this. This game is really simple and fun for me and I really like simple games that you can win also easily.

I remember this game is famous here in the Philippines where you can visit this kind of game into local fairs in the country. The funny thing is, the game is completely random and a lot of people participate here! The bet can also be relatively low compared to gambling establishments and I usually bring around p500 ($10) and win like p1000 ($20) at the end of the day.

I really hope that this kind of game can be implemented digitally in an online casino. The game looks really fun and it somehow reminds me of the times where I used to visit local fairs back in high school. Yup, even below 18 years old can participate and play this game!
