2401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: November 11, 2015, 02:32:19 PM
Cleveland Cavaliers -5 @1.77 i just placed my on this pick i think this will be easy for it to win this match because it looking hot favorite and in superb form.

You lost your bet by 1 point, like me. That's frustrating. We should win tonight.

Wow that sucks indeed. Cleveland is a risky team to bet on compared to the Warriors and they are paying similar. A good idea is waiting until the match starts since the Cavs seem to start very slowly and start to play in the 3rd quarter or later. That's if you play money line.

Cleveland is pretty inconsistent, maybe until Kyrie comes back. They just couldn't win in a larger margin. Love no longer plays the way he used to back in Minnesota, so much potential underused. You'll be better off betting on teams that continuously play consistently like the Warriors, Spurs, or even the Clips.
2402  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we fall back to less than $300 again? Why? on: November 11, 2015, 01:15:09 PM
Going back to 300 today.  Reason: more sellers than buyers

i would say less buyers than sellers, which are always the same 2-3 manipulators with big stash

right now it's all in the hand of the demand, great demand = great price, lower demand = lower price

It's all part of the cycle, btc was down for almost the whole year, so it's bound to go up sometime. Now it's up, it's bound to go down. History will continue to repeat itself unless huge events, like big news entitling appreciation (like the Economist cover) or the halving next year, affect the cycle.

And hey, if ever we're already at the floor during this downtrend ($320ish), it's a good thing. This level would be the baseline for the coming weeks.
2403  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Question about antminer s7 on hashnest on: November 11, 2015, 03:55:21 AM
The 288 hours applies for the new batches of S7 miners bought as far as I know, the standard 72 hrs was previously for buying older miners from the shop.
2404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: November 10, 2015, 03:03:33 PM
Damn Warriors on 8-0 already, wonder how long they can get their streak.

GSW - MEM then GSW - MIN; I think Memphis has the potential to stop them, Zbo-Gasol just need to take control, and Conley to step up.

MIN on the other hand, they're still too young. They don't stand a chance.
2405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best current cold storage method on: November 10, 2015, 10:38:21 AM
Do you guys BIP38 your paper wallets?
I do. BIP38 is a important feature in paper wallets. It protects against theft of your Bitcoin and is relatively hard to crack if you use a strong one. However, you do have to remember the password. The best practice is to write it down and keep it somewhere safe.

It's not safe to write down your passphrase. Then it's like you don't even have it. I rather make and remember my passphrases as a sentence, and I add a few symbol characters. So with a password of 30+ chars it gets uncrackable in my lifetime. Which is OK Cheesy

You end up at risk of losing everything if something bad happens to you. Better write it down or have it printed, then store in air tight sealed container then lock it up in a safe. At least you can have your kin to inherit it someday. Smiley

Hello,

I'd recommend HostWinds, they accept bitcoin. BTC

Affiliate link: https://www.hostwinds.com/592.html
Non-affiliate link: https://www.hostwinds.com/

Use one of these coupons to your liking:
99BTCOFF for 99% off your first month
25BTCOFF for 25% off on any VPS

I've been with them since 2011 and never had a any problems. Customer support is very responsive especially on the live chat. I was with HostGator prior, but this one is better. Decent ping/speed, even if you're in EU.

Check them out and try asking them what you need on the live chat.

Using the affiliate link is very much appreciated, but not required.

2407  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Prediction 2015 ฿ on: November 09, 2015, 04:00:30 PM
End of the year price will be $550-700. After the US Marshall bitcoin auction, the overhang is cleared. With further adoption of blockchain technology, the price should support that range.

I think that the price will drop a bit after that auction.
Because the bitcoins can be sold under the market price.
I don't think anyone will buy overpriced bitcoins when there are many exchanges at the real market price.
I think that the price will reach $500 and that would be enough for this year Smiley

$500 is still a good end of year price. It is higher than that in the beginning of 2015. The price growth in 2015 is positive. In 2016, the price will rise further due to the halving or further adoption of bitcoin.

Yeah if you'll look at it, the price is almost in the same range last year ($380-$430) just a little bit lower now. Those were the days before the price began to spiral downward from December to as low as $177 last Jan 14 this year. Hopefully history does not repeat itself this time.
2408  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Antminer S7 on Hashnest on: November 09, 2015, 02:02:41 PM
S5 is the best deal at the moment.

@142 USD it will become unprofitable.

S4 is quite risky, especially if you watch the market closely. There is very less trades there.

S7 will be a good buy @ 0.0012 0.0013

Yes true, and with every addition of S7s in HashNest the price drops for S5 a bit too, which makes buying them a bit more profitable than ever. Of course, it corrects and levels up accordingly.

PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS - DETROIT PISTONS
I guess Detroits can make over 99 .
Once again going against Portland Trail Blazers because I think that they are better . Today, they take really deepened the Pistons team that started the season with 4 wins from 5 competitions and East occupies the 4th place. As I mentioned Blazers are playing better than it should be since it is only a matter of time until you will feel L.Aldridge loss and then will start the whole trouble in terms of fighting for victory because I do not believe that Lillard and McCollum each istems team all season.

Drummond and Regie are showing some promise and doing the work for Detroit. Damn Regie scored 40, he's way better now than when he was in OKC.  I don't think they can push on to contend for a conference title (vs Cleveland), but I do think they'll get to the playoffs and own most of the East.
2410  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Halving is coming next year, is it time to invest in more miners? on: November 09, 2015, 07:45:27 AM
I do have free power but it's limited so I cannot abuse it. I'd like to stay at my current limits.. Best case I would sell my s3s and get s7

You're pretty lucky. I'm mostly mining on Hashnest, electricity here is so damn expensive plus it's really hot especially in summer. Figured I'd just invest all the btc I have and will have in Hashnest up until next year, like 1 month or so before the expected having.

It's all in, if the price doesn't rise up and goes the other way around I'd be dead.
2411  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Crowdfunding] The First WordPress Faucet plugin on: November 08, 2015, 11:54:53 AM
edited: it failed?

seems yes ...
too bad.

I can see that the problem here is not purely of due to a lack of interest. You see, I can imagine that in order to create a faucet, you'd need to install a bitcoin wallet on the server which also hosts the Wordpress platform. Most wordpress sites you see run on a shared host, or on some other kind of business hosting running on a control panel, rarely on dedicated servers except for the big sites.

Perhaps if you can modify the plugin to be a social locker (tweet/like to get btcs), bitcoin-related blogs would be much interested.
2412  Economy / Gambling / Re: -- NBA (Whole season prediction in 1 post) -- on: November 08, 2015, 02:37:02 AM
May I know on what basis is the prediction done ? So to be logically true ?Because I might just use this a base for directbets.eu if you have made the above list by experience in NBA games .

The way I see it, the basis might have been the previous season performance, plus a bit of instinct. Some of the predictions aren't bad, but most NBA game are totally unpredictable - that's why it's fun to watch.

Also, don't bet there, the one in my siggy is better  Wink Wink Wink

@Op - probably add a win/loss rate after the games have completed.
2413  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price going back to $250??? on: November 07, 2015, 11:51:32 AM
I suspect we will go back to 200-230 within a week or so. That price seems fairly stable. Although we may fall under that to the 160-200 range for a while because of some panic.

I myself see the $160-200 as a buy range, and I suspect a lot of us see it like that too. So maybe, if the price falls to that range a massive buy would occur and push the price back up to $250. The way I see it, $220-250 could be the lowest possible floor - unless a huge bad news happen, like OKcoin going bankrupt.
2414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Winning Team Prediction Tips on: November 07, 2015, 10:49:53 AM
Yeah it was amazing how Rubio has improved as what he's showing to start this season. It's long due already, he was phenomenal during his rookie year a couple of years ago but got injured then started to decline. He has potential, much like Wiggins, Towns, and LaVine. He couldn't cope up with the PGs of this generation last season but is showing promise now.

I agree, if he remains healthy he could be the NBA leader in assists which is an stat that faded into nothing recently (and sadly). John Wall and Chris Paul are great point guards overall but compared to great passers like Kidd, Stockton, Nash and even Rondo in his Celtics years they have nothing to do in this category.

Today we have great shooters PGs instead, like Curry, Irving, Parker, Westbrook, Lillard, even Rose (not sure if he's still relevant today...).

Well Curry, Parker, and Wall can still dish out great assists, it's just their core game is shooting and scoring. It's not like the PGs of this generation are the only ones changing. Look at the center and PF roles, much of the teams now value centers who can play PFs and vice versa. Moreover, centers and PFs nowadays are more valued if they can shoot close to mid-range jumpers, unlike for example, during Shaq's era that he can't even make free throws.

@ontopic - Im betting on SAS, GSW, and MIN tomorrow. Charlotte is a free win for SAS, GSW can surely outplay SAC, and I'm in for a blind belief the MIN can win against CHI tomorrow.
2415  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: November 07, 2015, 10:27:19 AM
What s the lowest price for S5 you would expect in the next couple months? Since new S5 chips are not for sale anymore, the only thing which can affect it BTC price and diff.

It will probably float around 60-80k sats/Gh, like it already used to, and will move accordingly to the price of bitcoin. Gh prices in Hashnest have been mostly stable unless there is an introduction of a new miner, which is unlikely in the near future so I'd expect no large movement, only swings within a considerable spread in the coming months.
2416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah Scam on Mintpal - Reporting Missing Coins on: November 07, 2015, 09:53:23 AM
I just received an email to the address I used for Mintpal, advertising

https://thecryptostore.com/

What is the connection between this site and Mintpal/Moolah scam? Be wary...

Me too, they might have sold their databases with emails and other information.

@ontopic - A few months ago I received an email stating how much XMR I lost in MintPal, and offering to return them if I'll tell them my XMR address. I did, checked a few days later and it was there. Too bad it was only for XMR.
2417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: November 07, 2015, 09:41:49 AM
Didn't get the chance to bet in the HOU vs ORL match, too bad I could have won for HOU.

Anyway, what's your take for the MIA vs MIN?

I'd bet Minnesota will take this one.

Yeah I go for Minnesota too.

Even OP here pick Minnesota : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1200924.120;topicseen

Lost that one, didn't expect Wade still has some game into him against a much younger, more energetic squad. Good game though, MIA successfully controlled all quarters, with Wade contributing 25.
2418  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price going back to $250??? on: November 06, 2015, 11:11:29 PM
It will definitely decrease now and it may reach $220 as well where it started off last year but soon it's going to increase again and then it will be the time to sell bitcoins when it rises above $400. It has been fluctuating between $350-$380 all day so I hope it stays at this price till the end of 2016.

I think $220 is so low, and won't really be reached now. $300 is a more realistic floor, when it goes below $250 I know there'll be a buying spree again pushing the price a bit up.

The price has been stable around this range for about a few days now, let's hope this has become the new home range.
2419  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitwala Now Lets Users Send Bitcoin to Paypal Accounts on: November 05, 2015, 04:17:04 PM
The company charges a flat fee at 0.5% of the transacted amount. Is not fee a little too much? I would like it to be percentage but not higher that $x amount.
Sending large sum of money is difficult with fee working like this.

It's good enough, if you'll be using Paypal to receive a large sum of money don't do it. They'll lock you out of your account and put you under investigation. I've seen this many times, even in legitimate business accounts. Just use wire if you need to cash out huge.
2420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Winning Team Prediction Tips on: November 05, 2015, 03:17:18 PM
Featured Game: Miami Heat (2-2) @ Minnesota Timberwolves (2-1)
November 5, 2015 ; 9:00 AM CT

Analyzation:
I see many will pick the Heat for this match but if you watch both previous games, I see TWOVLES really played well. Rubio can keep up with the guards from HEAT. He has an impressive start for this season in terms of scoring, assists and steals alongside with their starters. I see they can match the Heat.

Fearless Forecast: My pick will be on MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES

Quick Forecast Picks: (same day game)

Oklahoma City Thunders @ Chicago Bulls = Oklahoma City Thunders

Charlotte Hornets @ Dallas Mavericks = Dallas Mavericks

Utah Jazz @ Denver Nuggets = Utah Jazz

Memphis Grizzlies @ Portland Trail Blazers = Portland Trail Blazers

Yeah it was amazing how Rubio has improved as what he's showing to start this season. It's long due already, he was phenomenal during his rookie year a couple of years ago but got injured then started to decline. He has potential, much like Wiggins, Towns, and LaVine. He couldn't cope up with the PGs of this generation last season but is showing promise now.
