1901  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin? on: March 26, 2016, 02:33:54 PM
Spending it on trading ? I am poor in this . Tried to make some profits , But i lost much . Thats the biggest mistake of my life with bitcoins .
loss on trading is normally especially it's the first time you trading on alts/bitcoin but i believe you can learn much from your lose and do better to take a profit. never think trading is a worst mistake, bro. it's same like me i lost when first i trade on forex but trading cryptocurrency is more easy than forex.

That's not a mistake, it's fair trade, you learn from the experience. Like this dude has said go practice in trading alts. I did learn a lot from that space.
1902  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bad time to go long on: March 26, 2016, 02:31:58 PM
eth bubble is ended, it will remain there for a long time now, they wanted to secure the 0.01 mark, that's it, i don't see another great bubble coming for it in the short term

any alt struggled above 0.01, even litecoin it was dumped at the end, and eth(as a currency not platform) does not offer anything above it

Eth aint just some alt though, its different.. dapps and smart contracts will rule the world. Cheesy
I believe this is a bit off topic. Supporting ETH, especially if you are invested, is  a nice thing, but you should limit yourself to the ETH-related topics.
It has not that bad time now. The value is not even that low so why are people so angry about it.
You also can see that the value is rising slowly and that is very good. But I hope that it will rise for a long time.
We all know that. Because the price is now a bit stable and that is not good for the most people who already have Bitcoin.
We are all waiting for a good increase and we all hope that it will rise for a long time so we can get later a huge profit.

Being stable is good from time to time, it allows the market to regain it's cushion to buffer out extremes in trades which can crash the market if not absorbed properly. Although yes, there's less margin for day traders to play with.
1903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: March 26, 2016, 12:05:23 PM
I have some experience with bitcoin.
In first time, im looser, i know it. i earning from faucet only 500.000 satosi per week  Cheesy. and i spend arround 3-4hours perday  Roll Eyes

Damn bro what were you doing? You could have earned a lot more working a day job.

@ontopic Most of the people replying here got them from faucets. Me I was first hooked with alts way back in 2014. There were a lot of giveaways in the altcoin universe back then. Got my first btc by trading those alts.
1904  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cheap VPS on: March 26, 2016, 11:43:55 AM
Will try time4vps with another location, but I will not show them my driver licens or ID or something.

Why are they even requesting this, I've tried them months ago without the need for this.

@Ontopic Anyone knows of the cheapest windows VPS? Aside from Amazon AWS that is.
1905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Remains Most Popular Digital Currency on Dark Web on: March 26, 2016, 09:03:01 AM
Bitcoin would have looked quite stupid, if there were anything you could not buy or trade for it. Imagine people only used cash for medicine and PayPal for paying for their booze. Bitcoin does not discriminate against any product or service. This whole debate about Bitcoin being used to buy illicit goods and services on the Dark Web is becoming stupid. Most people can go out, get a fake identity and open up a PayPal account or get a homeless guy to open up a bank account for them.

Money opens up a lot of doors for illegal activities and people will find any possible way to capitalize on these loopholes. If they chose to use Bitcoin, and they are stupid enough to think that it is anonymous, let them do that. ^hmmmm^

Actually they aren't stupid to do that. It's so difficult to transact in the dark web before bitcoin. BTC opened them up for all the opportunities.

Just send me a link to your survey or anything.
1907  Economy / Economics / Re: The Halving - Good or Bad for Bitcoin? on: March 26, 2016, 03:15:09 AM
As the title says, is the halving good or bad for the price of bitcoin?

The halving will decrease the supply of bitcoin, whole keeping the demand, so that would make bitcoin worth more.

But the halving will make mining profitibilty worse, meaning less miners, a higher trans. fee, and maybe causing a smaller demand.

What's your verdict?

I think bitcoin will still go up, as the fees might, let's say, double, but that's still a smaller transaction fee than through the banks...

yes halving means that miners will get 50% less money so price will have to go up or they'll have to stop mining

but i think that it is good for bitcoin, because price will grow for sure, also more people will buy bitcoin so halving is really good for bitcoin

less money? you mean less coins. these 2 things are very different. if the price doubles from the current price level after the halving, then they get the same amount of money/fiat as they do right now. in that aspect nothing will change. if the price doesn't go up after the halving, then they indeed get less fiat in return for a found block. even if some miners decide to stop. the difficulty will go down which will attract other miners to put their hardware to work.

Absolutly no reason that after a halving the price of bitcoin doubles...

Price is mostly dictated by demand.
When in july reward gets halved and demand will stay the same, what is very likely, guess what will happen with the price?
Theoretically it has to increase right?!
The thing is we don't know if it's already priced in in because halving is a known and predictable event.
Will be very interesting to see what will happen.Especially the first 3-4 months after the halving.Last time we saw a delay in price increase as well.

You are righ...but if the demand does not increase...and stay same than now...the btc price will decrease after the halving because even after the halving the nb of coins increases even if it increases less than now.

I'm used about this theory because all my systems turn arround this principle...

The theory of "demand" is a bit skewed in the sense of 1 person can be the demand.

Your point is if more users will fill that demand. But we seen groups like knc miner or 1 big entity taken up as the "demand" which splurges the price.

Well in the end the halving would be like Schrodinger's cat. We wouldn't know anything until it happens.
1908  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: March 26, 2016, 02:22:02 AM
now see, that was much ado about nothing.. we could have announced this without a market freeze, but I guess this is the proper way to go about things. so for that, thank you hashnest, for doing this correctly. It is appreciated Smiley good work.

~Green

oh, im back guys, got pissed at crypto for a while. i had to return, fools are investing in known ponzis and magic bean securities once more, i thought we were past this. although there is good work being done, i must lend my voice if it helps.

it's like screaming into the fucking wind Smiley

I am not sure there is a proper way to announcements.
If this is the only announcement, it is rather anticlimatic.

They also translated "from" wrong again.
HASHNEST - if you want a person to check the syntax of your English translation, I don't mind helping.

What's wrong with ponzis, they are like gambling. Still sometimes fun when you do them correctly. I like my personal systems for maximm profit.

And there goes the announcement. I'm supposing the market freeze is to take off S5s. They did say S5 redemption right, so it seems to me S5 is being phased out.
1909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: March 26, 2016, 02:02:24 AM
Sacramento Kings vs Phoenix Suns, should be an easy match for Kings. So i pick Sacramento Kings spread and under points. And over points on Warriors match, and warriors spread seems good too.

Sacramento lost over Minnesota too, although for Phoenix, I'd say they'd win over this. I'mma go with the King win just like you. As for the warriors, they don't interest me.
1910  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the lending section of Poloniex risk free on: March 26, 2016, 01:59:19 AM
I havent tried the lending or borrowing from poloniex but I think thier investment with lending bitcoins to polonix users are secured with the altcoins stored in poloniex by the borrower. Just like in the lending section in this forum, collateral can be alts that borrowers dont want to let go.

The problem is that the collateral could drop 60% in value within a few seconds. The Poloniex might not have time to sell the altcoin and recover the bitcon for the lender.

Has this event happened in the history of the lending business of Poloniex? When the borrower borrow bitcoin, is there a restriction on what they can buy?

it has probably not.  however, it eventually will, with absolute certainty.  Recently it happened in the 'real' world with the swiss franc and some companies, like Interactive Brokers, had to eat a bunch of losses when the trader couldn't pay up.  When this happens, and it will, the question is whether Polo will eat it in order to have rep in the market or whether they will say 'too bad so sad'.

This might be years, but it must happen eventually.  It's a black swan kind of thing.  Markets always have this problem eventually.  It's just rare, so nobody prepares.  I'm not sure how you would actually.

In the end you just can't remove the risks can you. Well I'll give this lending on Polo a try. Nothing risked nothing gained IMO.
1911  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why would customers use Bitcoins? on: March 25, 2016, 12:56:17 PM
The transactions fee (Bitcoin) is lower than PayPal...
2.9% + $0.30 per transaction for PayPal (in US)... Shocked
You can only receive ~$0.4X if someone (customer) send $1 to you (seller)... Sad
In other words, you can receive $0.9X instead of $0.4X in Bitcoin.. Cheesy

agree with you, everyone will looks to less fee transaction if they use bitcoin for now this is still work but if bitcoin price high of course fee transaction will be a problem.
for example:
1BTC = $1000
fee per transaction 0.0001 it same like $0.08-$0.1
how if
1BTC = $5000
fee per transacion 0.0001 it same like $0.4-$0.5

Although while that assumption of a $5000 / BTC rate could possibly come true in the very far future, It's kind of irrelevant by then because inflation would have taken over.
1912  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2016 Bitcoin Debit Card Reviews on: March 25, 2016, 12:52:53 PM
Didn't know E-coin has an app, is this limited only to a few accounts or available for everyone even if its in beta?

And nope, I can't find it in big G's playstore.
1913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bytecent: Peer-to-Peer Rewards Network - Bytecent.com | BytecentBounty.com on: March 25, 2016, 10:35:13 AM

Cool, looks much much better now. With regards to the exchanges, I think the project being close-sourced is somehow one of the reasons why some don't pick up BYC as easier as other alts.
1914  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investments on: March 25, 2016, 10:19:21 AM
Anyone here have tried giving a loan at LoanBase? I'm kinda looking for reviews or experiences at their autoinvest scheme.  Smiley
1915  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LoanBase (BitLendingClub) partnering with a collection agency on: March 25, 2016, 10:06:41 AM
Good luck to you but I don't think its safe at all and most probably you will end up losing money. Giving loans on the internet without collateral is not secure. The collection agency or whatever won't be able to do anything either but thats just my general opinion, what you do with your money is up to you.

After a few months there's still no news on the defaulted loans. So I'm assuming their 'collection agency' isn't working quite effectively. In the end I didn't pursue investing into their pre-made loan 'invesment' plans. Anyone who did and can share thoughts?
1916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In 2010/2011 Bitcoin was really exciting! on: March 25, 2016, 09:57:04 AM
In 2010-11 the entire crypto currency market was booming and thriving. Lot of new people joined this world and started earning and trading crypto currencies at that time. If you check litecoin and darkcoin prices at that time, they were also higher than the current time.

But over a period of time, the bitcoin price has stabilized. Also a lot of other crypto currencies are hindering the growth of bitcoin because people have started investing in altcoins. If those investments came to bitcoin, it would have been huge.

Yeah right, because darkcoin was around in 2010-11... You probably mean the 2013 hype not the period in 2010-11.

The biggest reason that people are less excited is a stable period in the pricing of bitcoin. Stable = boring = less interest. The fact that we are stable around 400 for so long now is a good indicator though that we build a good solid floor there.

As far as being excited, I certainly am. Not only for bitcoin, but also all the cool projects it has inspired such as lisk and other 2.0 cryptos. They will have a spot besides bitcoin and fill the gaps that bitcoin has trouble with.

Back in 2014 the hype was about alts, I know there are legitimate projects revolving around crypto 2.0 still around nowadays but honestly, I'm all blockchain now. Way past the crypto 2.0 fever.

@ontopic boring doesn't necessarily means bad does it? The way I notice it, people look at BTCBTCBTC nowadays like a high yield high risk investment, not the freedom it was supposed to be.
1917  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashnest "Big News" on: March 25, 2016, 06:47:59 AM
Well mining i general hasn't been profitable in a few months now.

http://imgur.com/WxMW6Ah
You can see the difficulty did catch up the price. Since it is march I expect them to have a miner (finally that can compete with Spondoolies Tech miner)
They have a miner which outcompetes the S7 by 2 a few months ago. Hashnest/Bitmain only launch/ sell their second hand stuff if they need money.

So, yes a new miner is to be expected.

So the next cycle begins. Maybe I can kind of profit by reserving that new miner for HashNest then dumping it the moment it gets available.
1918  Economy / Gambling / Re: It finally happened to me! 3.5 BTC in profit @betcoin.tm xD on: March 25, 2016, 06:40:59 AM
Bad day today. Went from 1.5 to 2 BTC, and then back to 0.37. I withdraw the 0.3 and kept the 0.07 there to play.
I am now in 0.2 BTC, let's see if I can keep it up. (Updated the OP with my progress)

Well too bad, but you can't always win I guess. As long as you don't bet with those 3.8 BTC you withdraw so far it's all good   Grin

Needless to say, even luck runs out too.  Smiley
1919  Other / Off-topic / Re: We missed a trick here we could off had Tay promoting Bitcoin on: March 25, 2016, 06:18:30 AM
This was indeed a missed opportunity to spread Bitcoin... Cheesy Didn't knew they were going to release in the wild a bot like this, otherwise I'd be on top of it. Apparently only 4chan people knew about this as they completely dominated the bot's speech...

They were completely wrong about releasing it that way. With 4Chan around, what can go wrong? Well everything. Never ever trust the internets.
1920  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you still believe in bitcoin on: March 25, 2016, 03:34:39 AM
Yes of course i believed in bitcoin, bitcoin already provide so many things for me such as gambling excitement, extra income and efficient way to purchase and sell things all over the world, eventhough there are so many scammer using bitcoin payment but i still believe in bitcoin

don't know if i still believe in bitcoin or not. because as you can see, the bitcoin price keep decrease from yesterday and it's make me losing hope in bitcoin.
Do not loose your belief on bitcoin just for trading fluctuations. Ups and downs are very much usual thing for any traded commodity. It provides opportunity to earn if you learn how to make use of them. Keep your faith, bitcoin will worth some millions in few years for sure.

It's either that or you hold on for the long term. I've read articles that if you're the average guy, you're better of holding stocks (in this case, BTCBTCBTC) for the long term than day trading, because you're more likely to lose in short term trades. The same applies here too I suppose.
