1861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good idea to store paper wallet digitally? on: April 02, 2016, 12:23:54 PM
I already do this on my windows computer. I simply have several paper wallets stored in a zip file and with very strong encryption. Passphrase is a combination of 50 characters, which I find to be strong enough. And all this sits in my USB drives offline together with my wallet.dat backups.

There should also be a backup paper copy of all these, laminated then stored in a safe container/fire-proof box. Just a suggestion because as for me I don't entirely trust a couple of USBs, they break down eventually.

Hi, I can't seem to open Yobit and TheRockTrading to trade there. I thought it was free? Is it?
1863  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone noticed the C-CEX April fools prank? on: April 01, 2016, 02:48:58 PM
No ball animtion on my phone. Sad Does it work on chrome mobile? I don't see anything but the usual exchange site.

It was some hours ago, earlier in the morning at my timezone gmt+7, and yeah it was on my chrome mobile but the animation is not showing again after re-opened my browser. It must be a April Fools surprise.. Smiley

On a firefox browser right now and there's nothing at all. Anyway it's kind of not good for an exchange to prank like that IMO.
1864  Economy / Speculation / Re: uᴉoɔʇᴉq will never reach $700 again on: April 01, 2016, 01:36:49 PM
I've got only one question:

How did you write the "uᴉoɔʇᴉq" word on reverse? xD

It's the forum's April fools joke  Smiley Smiley Smiley

@ontopic IMO history repeats itself, meaning someday in the future bitcoin's gonna pop sky high again. Just wait and see.
1865  Other / Off-topic / Re: du you spend coins on real life. on: April 01, 2016, 11:10:54 AM
If online purchases delivering physical products count as real life, then yeah. I've ordered several electronics as well as teas online. Too bad there aren't enough stores in my country accepting BTC.

Me too, mostly miners way back when scrypt mining was the hype. Lost a lot back then too, because within a month the profit margins went paper thin. My GAW furies never went to ROI.

My games for tonight:

Portland Trail Blazers - Boston Celtics
Pick: Home -4 (AH) @ 2.09

Good luck all!

Today we have interesting matches. But I want to try this one. Good luck

Blazers did a stunning 4Q.

It was a decent night again. Hope you won some big BTCBTCBTC Cheesy

Haven't been able to watch last night's games but from the looks of it you're really owning. Also, I looked at your site and it's still not up isn't it?

@ontopic It's Dallas Vs Detroit up next what are your predictions? As for me I'm going for a DAL W. Detroit's not been playing like they used to at the start of the season from what I can see.
1867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CS:GO eSports Prediction Thread on: April 01, 2016, 08:12:48 AM
MLG Astralis Vs Fnatic -> Fnatic  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Simply because Fnatic is one of the top teams too. Besides, they already lost to Fnatic quite a few times, like the last Aftonbladet Fight Night and at the Intel Extreme Masters X.

In which bet site can we play these esports with bitcoin?

Check out my siggy, Betcoin.ag has an e-sportsbook betting available.
1868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: April 01, 2016, 03:23:17 AM
Cleveland Cavaliers is looking hot favorite for this match against Brooklyn Nets, that is why it have no odds for betting but i will pick over 211 points @2.01

I'd say over 211 is too high for team that rarely goes over 110 (Cavs) and another that rarely goes above 100 (Nets). Haven't seen enough of these teams during this season so I might be wrong. But from what I know, Nets is not a high scoring team and Cavs has been on the decline.

1870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: March 31, 2016, 02:35:50 PM
I still can't believe the Cavs did not pull away with the match yesterday, it's a blow that LeBrone wasn't playing but they should have still won, Games like these makes me doubt the Cavs can win the title playing completely on a single player "the warriors can still win games without curry IMO".

The Cavs wouldn't win the title. Lebron's already on the decline way back his last season on Miami, and Curry is currently on his peak. IMO the west would still dominate.
1871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to give away Bitcoin at a public event? on: March 31, 2016, 02:27:30 PM
Print out the private keys and give them on paper to people around there.

Or print out A3 size paper QR codes with private keys, raise it up in your hands, and the first guy that takes the coins from there gets it.

It creates incentive, and interest from people.

The thing is if it's 'too bothersome' they wouldn't consider even if there are incentives. So yeah, they have a paper QR, then what? Believe me, people are so damn lazy.

Although a bitcoin themed lunch looks good, I mean it's free food. Everyone likes food incentives.

True, it only went to shitsville when Moopay decided to acquire it. Alex Green / Ryan Kennedy is the bad guy.
1873  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: March 30, 2016, 11:51:31 PM
Hi I'm having trouble logging in the 2FA, always says the verification code was invalid. It's really frustrating to do over and over again that recaptcha and always say my 2FA code was invalid when I know it's the one on Authy.

The next time I logged in it always says the captcha was invalid when there was never a captcha image shown at all.
1874  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTCE exchange goes offline again on: March 30, 2016, 11:43:45 PM
Too bad, it used to be more reliable.  Bitcoin and the crypto world really need safe exchanges and I think that things are going more in this direction.

We have good exchanges, but "safe exchanges" IMO we'll never have that. As long as hot wallets stay online there'll always the risk of hackers getting access to that. The best way still is to protect yourself. Never leave funds online.
1875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Anonymous Really Steal ISIS Bitcoins in #OpBrussels? on: March 30, 2016, 11:23:06 PM
https://www.inverse.com/article/13341-did-anonymous-really-stealisis-bitcoins-in-opbrussels-it-s-totally-possible

Quote
On Thursday, Anonymous posted a new operation announcement video to YouTube, announcing the initiation of #OpBrussels. Among the non-hierarchical hacker organization’s claims was the following: “We severely punished ISIS on the darknet, hacked their electronic portfolio, and stole money from the terrorists.

This website badly needs to hire journalists to check the facts. What are the facts? How many BTC was stolen? Was the cryptocurrency stolen BTC? Was that cryptocurrency which was stolen? Who was stolen and who made the steal? There's an information in the title, but there isn't any more information in the article. That's how you spread false news.

The article's not exactly a news one more like an opinion column.

@ontopic I think yes, If there's a hot wallet open somewhere in the dark web it's possible to have BTC stolen.
1876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Worst lossing streak u get on DICE on: March 30, 2016, 01:58:56 PM
Was already one very long thread about losing streaks, with some experiments included. Maybe just use search engine and check all forum..

You're probably referring to this aren't you? Well here you don't need to win it back in the end to share the experience.  Smiley

@ontopic Me not so lucky with dice, it was like 6 or 7 straight and lost 0.3 BTC, never played again.
1877  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How do Online Wallets Survive ?? on: March 30, 2016, 01:45:38 PM
There are many online wallets like Xapo and Coinbase that do not charge any transaction fees or they pay that fees by themselves. I want to know that how would they profit from paying for their user's transaction fees ?
If no fees is charged then the transaction take a much long time or even might get cancelled !
From what i remember they have fee to send bitcoin outside internal wallet addresses. I mean they dont take fee to send internal xapo to xapo or coinbase to coinbase address that mean they associate bitcoin address to you but keep record of your balance in database ratger than in real bitcoin address. So they dont have to pay fee for evvery internal transaction.

Yes as far as I know they don't charge fees for that, they get their profits from trades, meaning USD to BTC and vice versa. You should be more curious how bitcoin 'savings' wallets like Magnr and HaoBTC stay up and profit from their business models, I mean considering this difficulty we're at.
1878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you secure a Text file with your private keys on it? on: March 30, 2016, 09:59:00 AM
How would you secure a Text file with your private keys on it?  what encryption do you recommend?

Just print it on paper and give it to your Mom.  Tell her it's important.  She'll keep it safe.

True, right next to the family's land titles and every member's birth certificates.

@ontopic As for me, I printed the private key, laminated it and stored it in a safe.
1879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: March 30, 2016, 08:20:18 AM
Philadelphia 76ers    is on bad streak and it will be much hard for it to take any advantage of home court against Charlotte Hornets which have wonderful offense there and will win this match tonight, i think Charlotte Hornets -11 seems good for betting there.

Well in all honesty Sixers is on 9-66 standing, they're really on a bad streak anywhere you look at it.
1880  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: March 30, 2016, 08:08:29 AM
Well several business being made daily, most of them at gambling, por starting to work, and more projects as openbazar made to full support bitcoin, exchanges are making a good work and able to assure security to all.

I've not been updated with OpenBazaar at all, I've looked at it and it's still on testnet, though It's really looking good. The thing with this is it's unregulated, so how are governments gonna deal with this when people start trading meth and stuff?
