Circle Opens Doors to Global Audience
By Jeremy Allaire
After months of working with customers in an invite-only phase, today we at Circle opened our initial service to the world.

When we set out to build Circle, we imagined a new kind of Internet-centric consumer financial service, one that the average person would find enjoyable and powerful, built on the promises of Bitcoin – instant, global, secure, free transactions.

For our initial product launch, our aims were simple:

Create an experience that is fast, beautiful, and enjoyable to use. Online banking applications stink. We wanted an elegant design aesthetic that would appeal to digital natives.
Reduce the friction that so many people – even sophisticated, technology-savvy people – often experience in acquiring and spending Bitcoin. Starting today, people can onboard into a Circle account and begin using digital money within minutes, not days. And Circle eliminates the labyrinth of fees and complex user interfaces designed for traders.
Make digital money the same as other major Internet services for consumers: instant and free. We wanted our service to be instant for onboarding, instant for depositing and converting money, and nearly instant for sending and receiving payments – anywhere on the planet.
Global Support

In addition to the core features and goals above, Circle is now available in seven languages, which collectively cover approximately 40% of the world’s population. Circle’s site, product, and customer support content are all available in English, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish (Latin American), German, and French – and we will add more languages as we grow. It’s a good start, but we plan to add far more capabilities for international customers over time.

Insurance Clarity

Back in May, we were excited to announce that we were offering customers insurance from theft on 100 percent of their bitcoin account balances. Since May, we’ve continued to build out our insurance program, acquiring more underwriters for both our online and cold storage / offline assets. Today we offer this unprecedented insurance coverage to every Circle customer. Circle customers will have 100 percent coverage of their full deposit value. Our insurance broker is Marsh, one of the largest insurance brokers in the world. The underwriters for this insurance are all highly-rated. Insurance on Bitcoin is a new market, and we’re proud to be a market maker in establishing this valuable service to users of digital assets. And this 100 percent insurance covers deposits for any user in the world holding bitcoin with Circle.

Native Apps Imminent

In addition to the general availability of Circle, today at the Sibos international banking conference, we had an opportunity to sneak peak our new iOS and Android native apps. While these are still in beta and not part of today’s product release, they’re a critical piece of the puzzle and companions to Circle’s Web-based service. We’ve been hard at work on these apps and hope to make them available to everyone soon.

Thank You!

Over the past months, it has been exciting to see the Circle team grow and to see our product, operations, support, legal and compliance, security, and finance teams execute on launching our service. Importantly, though, we are just getting started. What we’ve delivered today is the beginning of an arc of innovation that we hope to keep delivering in the years to come.

We’re excited to invite you to become a customer, and we look forward to your feedback, questions, and comments. We have a lot to build and learn, and we’re excited to iterate in the market together.

Thanks and enjoy Circle!

One thing the circle team forgot to mention.  New York is not part of the world so to those of you who are there can go fuck yourself.

What attack day # are we on now? Like 8? 9? 10?

 Cheesy

Almost 10 days, XMR is down 14% since then, so, I would say the attack was only minimally successful. I think BCX has the ability to disrupt the blockchain but only for minutes at a time.

Speaking of that, there hasn't been a new Monero block in 20 minutes..

True. But an attack on price was not what BCX said he was going to accomplish. It was in reference to the XMR protocol and its network security.

Thus far it appears the attack is only talk.

I'd like to be proven wrong or right...whichever but nevertheless end this pointless charade of ego inflating.  Grin Grin Grin

tough call man.. i believe when BCX said that but hey.. it's all business right ?
ya never know though there still may be a remote possibility he was trying to "sway" the market price.. what do i know ? hahah
don't matter to me either way.. i don't care about XMR's price LOL

I am quoting you only because of your avatar.  The following is obviously speculation but I remember the past the same as the poster.

Interesting point: BCX claimed that Cryptsy didnt add XMR back in July because they asked him for an expert opinion and he advised them of potential exploits that put them off. Does this recent change from Cryptsy mean that their "expert" has now told them that XMR is safe, or does it mean they no longer believe their "expert"?

Never forget we were actually threatened, it doesn't matter the excuses he tried to use.

No you weren't. You were never threatened. A perceived threat (you perceive _everything_ to be a threat) isn't the same thing as a real threat. You just have an extremely low tolerance for things not going your way.

You jumped plumb off the crazy springboard, accusing everybody you disagree with as being part of a grand conspiracy against you. Your paranoia is out of this world and its quite safe to say you don't have the stomach for this game. We all witnessed you fall apart pretty hard in the last week. It was funny, but sad.

Maybe you should take a break for a little while, you know, just for your own mental health and to help you regain some composure.

There is an exploit that allows stealing funds from wallets and I am going to use that exploit to do so.

You are correct that could not be perceived as an attack.
1964  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: September 29, 2014, 11:29:06 PM
rpietilla, what's your price projection for the end of the year? is btc going further into bear market or we will see a recovery?
He called the bottom 1,5 month ago.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=740394.0

I think there are not many people who really know.

I also called the bottom 2 weeks ago, now look Smiley

I knew this was happening.. we arent at a bottom yet... it all depends on LTC not btc...  we need to go down on LTC then both will bottom.
Can you explain what LTC got to do with this?

Ive got it in my posts i posted a bunch of times.. its volume/price correlation. Been using it for over a year... its what kept me out since then (well not really... i bought some at a little under $500 to buy btsx which I am up as a whole on because im largely more bullish on btsx than btc right now). It's also what will get me in at the right time.. and I think we are close.

Do you perhaps have a link or topic where btsx is briefly explained?

Was the entire Monero attack an insider game? It certainly appears as if.

Either way XMR price is still down to the bottom and hasn't recovered since. Monero holders have lost a large chunk of their investment value. Will it grow back to where it was before the "attack"?

I openly invite any Global Mod, Bad Bear or Theymos to prove or disprove this.

I am not Moneroman88 and furthermore this whole theory about crashing the price is wrong.

I have no interest in Monero financially.

That is not the official statement of the dev team. Please reconsider what you are doing, this is not a healthy mindset to have. As humans, we are supposed to build things up, not break them down. It is our duty. Please reconsider.

Being in a healthy mindset is something I am not often accused of.

At some point I am sure the XMR team will realize they do indeed need my help and we may work something out.

~BCX~

Being that the XMR team already requested from you info on your exploit which seems not to have been forthcoming makes one wonder what "work something out" means.

"All aboard the Bitcoin Express! We're leaving in 72--errrr...wait, wait...4 day--wait..errr...2 weeks! Yeah, get on board! Next stop Fudville!"

What are you laughing for? BCX had reached his goal. He had planned to bring the XMR price down with his exploit bullshit to buy in as cheaply as possible and got what he wanted.
This is fine for speculating on what ulterior motives might be at play, however...
If you take BCX at just what BCX said, it wasn't about the price.

There were other things BCX claimed to want:
1)  "Forced Evolution"
2)  "requests for help from developers"

BCX achieved both of these.  These goals are also consistent with the general goals of the broad community of crypto currency workers (but perhaps with the exception of the threat of the use of force to achieve them).
This was a no-lose scenario for BCX, just different sorts of wins.

Did he really achieve b?  The following was his last post in that thread.

But anyway the image below posted by nutildah is interesting. Check the blocks just prior to the circle.

Later guys.

That "work something out" sounds like _________

His quote also includes "proof" of his bogus claim of having already affected the blockchain.

Yes we instituted the confirmation email about 2 months ago which must be confirmed before a withdrawal was sent.  After speaking with email support, we do not have any emails of people asking about a withdrawal.  What is your username and we can get you taken care of promptly.  The email may go to your spam folder.

I did not send an email because I was following the instructions on the withdrawal page which states to email if it isn't processed within 8 hours.  I'll PM you

I just sent an email to support as I didn't here back from you.  I thought you were online but I guess you weren't.  I'm sure this will be taken care of quickly.

I was doing some twitter XMR tweets analysis:

Suddenly this strange googlealert thing appeared. I searched in twitter and it leads to this anti XMR troll campaign: https://twitter.com/MoneroAlert. I reported it as a spam and I suggest you do the same.

Tips are appreciated Smiley

I checked your link and it has links to the ANN thread, this thread, a post on reddit with a positive view on the latest "attack", and the Lifeboat Foundation taking Monero for donations.

There was also a link in reference to Moneero which is one of the names of a person involved with a company in Uruguay.

Maybe I didn't look deeply enough but it doesn't seem like an anti XMR troll campaign to me.

This is not cool, I put in a withdraw request lastnight around 2am and its now 1pm and it still says pending....

What gives, why are you guy holding my money hostage, especially as the value of bitcoins is dropping hard right now.

they must be investigating your account or something usually doesnt take that long. did you click the confirm email?

Since when are there confirmation emails for withdrawals?  3 weeks ago I requested a withdrawal and after not receiving it I contacted live chat but they can't deal directly with withdrawal issues.  I didn't receive a confirmation email that time.

I requested a withdrawal 2 1/2 hours ago.  My request is still pending and I did not receive a confirmation email.

for over a month now maybe 2

I didn't send an email
I just rechecked my emails in regards to my withdrawal of 3 weeks ago and it was approved without getting a confirmation email.  The problem was that I didn't receive the withdrawal after it was approved.  I did eventually receive it of course.

The Windows wallet on the OP is still the one before recent events. Is it possible for the dev to compile a latest one?

There is a separate thread for the windows wallet.  May I suggest you ask there.  The link to that thread is in the first post of this thread.

Are we still not over this BCX thing? Seriously?  Roll Eyes
+1

It will make me stop mining it and move on some coin that actually "works".

Excuse me but... what isn't working about monero?

Turn on your sarcasm detector.

Its always full on but it didn't work here for a reason:

Solution is still not showing up, it makes me not to mine it anymore as I do not want to have money nowhere.

Big delay give no trust on any field.

I'd like to hear them reasons, thats all.

He was having issues sending from his wallet to bter a few days ago.  He sent from his wallet to bter and I believe at that time deposits were disabled.  He posted about it in the monero.crypto-pool.fr thread as I assume he mines there.  supperresistant was helpful as usual.  As of yesterday he was still waiting on bter deposits to open up.

Yup, and it's still disabled.
Feeling soo centralized situation, or maybe I'm wrong?

I have no idea why bter hasn't opened up deposits and withdrawals as they have been working for days on Poloniex and I believe Hitbtc as well.  I understand your concern about centralization but to me that concern has much more to do with exchanges than Monero.

Yeah I'm hoping all the exchanges start accepting deposits soon also.

What exchanges besides bter are having issues?

The other part of the decision not to use bounties is that the incentive is to do the minimum required to collect the bounty with no further development or support.
This isn't always the case with the windows GUI being one example.

You just made 21 posts today each in a different altcoin thread except the first one and all prior in the Chinese section.

This one looks familiar.

While he is trolling, Robin might want to report back to Risto and Aminorex and other members of the MEW team that their BBR dumping campaign over the last 5 months is coming to an end.

If it weren't for enemies and other things that not BBR's/rune's/secore's/vortex's/CZ's fault, imagine where this coin would be.

In 60 years, BBR/rune/secore/vortex vets can tell their greatgrandkids, "I remember when they tried to destroy us, but look where we are now", and the greatgrandkids will say, "Shut the fuck up, Greatgrandpa.  Give us some more BBR/rune/secore/vortex, and go change your fucking diaper."

Why would we need our grandchildren to change our diaper when we could just hire yours? 😉 I kid. I kid.

Seriously, I hope I'm never in a diaper...

If you live long enough it is inevitable.  As long as your diapers are changed by someone with compassion you will be grateful.
