Novak Djokovic played one hell of a tournament first defeating the king of clay Nadal and then in the final to come back from behind and to win his 19th Grand Slam title and thus becoming the first man in open era to win all four major tournament twice and it is not a small feat.

Australian Open = Won 9 times
Wimbledon        =  Won 5 times
US Open            =  Won 3 times
Roland Garros    =   Won 2 times

Yes its not a small feat especially after the performance nadal showed in early stages we all thought that he will win rolan garros again but djokovic had another say and after some difficulties he performed great against nadal its a big win for him and he is number one right now for a reason.

What a comeback from Djokovic! Tsitsipas has started the final game superly and brought the score to 2-0 very quickly. But after that, Djokovic started gathering himself up. He destroyed Tsitsipas (6-3, 6-2, 6-4) and made an insane comeback. I think both players were really awesome today. And Djokovic got a deserved victory and title.

we've seen Djokovic make a lot of comebacks, some were against Roger Federer, Nole has the ability to comeback since he does not give up and he has the sills for it as well, i am not surprised to see him doing it again in the same tournament after the match against Musseti, he deserved to win the title 100% even though i am a Rafael Nadal fan.

Yeah, but we haven't seen him down 0-2 in Grand Slam and come back to win the title.

Damn, I thought that Tsitsipas had it, but after the bathroom break and changeover, it was a difficult Djokovic turning into another beast mode again. In the first 2 sets, he was some what timid and doesn't have the energy.

Anyway, I lost my bet obviously, was too close, but Stepanos gained a lot of experience in this finals for sure.

Congrats to Djokovic for winning his second Roland Garros, but I am a little bit disappointed that Tsitsipas didn't win. It seems like that the era of the big 3 is still going on, but the young talent (Thiem, Tsitsipas, Zverev) is coming closer and closer.

Those who witnessed the final match were really presented with a great game.
Both really played at the highest level of their performances, so sorry for Tsitsipas but he learned a lot to be the best player.

It seems like that the era of the big 3 is still going on, but the young talent (Thiem, Tsitsipas, Zverev) is coming closer and closer.

For the major tournament big three have continued to dominate even though for the past two years from the three of them only Nadal and Djokovic have continued to play consistently and continue to collect titles and set new records for their careers.

Great final match, great win by Novak.
Tsitsipas tried to repeat his feat against Zverev, asking for and getting the cheering of the crowd, but he had forgotten that in 2019 Djokovic won Wimbledon while having the whole stadium against him. He saved a break point, and started well in the fifth: 1-0. But the collapse is only postponed. On 1-1 he had to face another one, with the second serve and lost the game. It was the break that was worth a Slam. In fact, neither tennis player lost his turn at bat, and the Serb triumphed again in Paris. Deservedly so, IMHO.

Djokovic winning it was the most awesome thing in tennis ever,,, this year anyway. This guy has come back from death so many times it makes the victory even sweeter. Now he is going to surpass everyone else for sure. One more Wimbledon and it becomes 20. He is still so young too considering everything and everyone else in the game.

Đoković really is a mental monster. It does not happen often that a player turns 0-2 deficit into a win at a GS final, I think that in the last 15 years or so only Thiem did it last year in the US open against Zverev.

Đoković is now 1 GS away from Nadal and Federer and considering his age, has the most chances to finish his career as a no.1 in Grand Slams won. Also, neither Nadal or Federer won every GS more than once, Đoković did that as well. A complete player, I prefer both Federer and Nadal to him but hat off - an amazing career.

It feels like Djokovic does it on purpose. Out of a sudden it becomes clear that he is going to destroy his opponent. When he was 0-2 back, I had a call with a friend and I said Djokovic is going to win it 100%. I know we all love Roger the most, but I believe Djokovic is the best player we have ever seen. That guy is a beast!

I think we have that kind of discussion in the previous days, that somewhat Djokovic takes a dive purposely and then turn himself on like a beast mode, just like what we have witnessed here.

Definitely, Djokovic is the greatest now, and if he can surpassed Roger's number then he will be on top of the list now. But nothing to be ashamed for Tsitsipas, he gave everything, but the mental toughness is the big difference here.

You can already see the relay of these three greats (Federer, Novak, Nadal) and Tsitsipas (22) is one of them although it may not be close to the numbers of these three greats.

Is possible that if one only of them I was not in this era together the numbers would be more impressive individually for the remaining two.

Since 2004 a game did not go to five sets and likewise no one losing by two had returned to win from that same date. Great game.

Yes, for sure his going to break the record of Federer to become the greatest tennis player in this era. Federer and Nadal is also great, but Federer is the youngest of the 3 and obviously have more years in front of him and maybe he will be the one left to fight back the challenge of the young generations lead by Tsitsipas, Thiem, Zverev and Medvedev.

It didn't matter that Djokovic had lost the match. 0-2 behind and then come back like that. And you're probably going to win the game now. Then you are world class. That Tsitipas will be very disappointed, 2-0 ahead in a final at Roland Garros. How many more times will he experience that? The match hasn't been played yet, of course, but I think there's no chance for Tsitsipas now. This guy will win enough Majors in the future, no doubts about that.

That is where I think the mental toughness of Noval reigns supreme. Novak has been in finals more than probably Tsitsipas has played French Open so even when he was 2 sets down, Novak knew that physically and mentally he is still in the game and one thing I have noticed with Tsitsipas is that he starts talking to himself too much after losing a few bad points and I remember how he had interactions with his father in past while he lost some points.

Against a guy like Djokovic you cannot ever relax or get loose with your shots because once he gets a break he will never allow you to get back in the game and the set is over just like that. Not that Tsitsipas played badly at all, he was excellent but he needs to work on his mental game as well.

Federer has not been at the level of these two players for a very long time.
Young tennis hopefuls, Thiem, Tsitsipas, Zverev but probably Medvedev and others, will soon take over the top of world tennis, Nadal and Djokovic are getting older and biology is working against them.
Still, I expect Nadal and Djokovic to dominate for at least another year or two because they are still psychologically stronger and better than young players.

This year is the unique opportunity for Djokovic to achieve a Grand Slam which nobody has been able to do since Rod Laver in 1969, he has won the Australian and the French Open and he's able to win Wimbledon and the US Open. Moreover he could also win the gold medal of the Olympic Games this year and then realizing a "Golden Slam" like Steffi Graf did in 1988 (the only time in history)

The only worry i had is the fitness issues and i was not confident that Novak Djokovic was fit to play long matches like that and when he went down in the first two sets i thought the long tournament has swapped his energy but that come back was epic and showed that he is still class and his fitness is great.

It is a numbers game now, all of them are getting older but Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are the greatest players in history and i have nothing more to ask as they always produce great joy when i watch them compete.

Never seen or read anything that Federer is jealous on Djokovic but allthough Djokovic is the favorite to win, I wouldn't write off Federer.
He just come out of an injury and performed pretty good (and maybe better than expected) at Roland Garros so he will be ready for it. He is now also in an underdog position which can play into his advantage.

Djokovic is good on all surfaces and he is half way there. Federer has been targeting
Wimbledon this year but realistically is he up to the challenge of a. reaching the
final and b. potentially beating Djokovic?

This thing of Djokovic coming back from 2 sets down has been playing on my mind.
One of the commentators on Eurosport mentioned that he may be doing it on purpose,
he was probably half joking but there is something to it. I recon he is practicing how
to win a match in such a circumstance, its a mind game.

Federer's injury I think has not really ever gone away at least from the way you see him play he does not seem to pull back as much as before but you are right,,, I think the Big 3 era is slowly Big 2, and hope to see even women's tennis get a big revival because Osaka is the hope from that side now Williams era is done with.

Experience can still win a little more but Tsitsipas I hope got a lot of lessons from this final:)
