I'm having a hard time getting this installed. I installed it on a usb 32gb thumb drive as directed, but when I put it into the rig it doesn't show up as a boot option. What am i missing?

Tytanik thank you for the instructions however the older images are no longer available.

simpleminer-RX-v1093-4.11.rc8-16.60-enableexe0ANDips0.imgc or simpleminer-RX-v1093-4.11.rc8-16.60-enablerc60.imgc

Links don't work.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1541084.msg18803001#msg18803001

Unless they were moved.

Thank you

Hi, please try again in 5 min from this post.
I am reuploading them right now Smiley
https://simplemining.net/download/

tytanick thank you for uploading the files so quickly however they might be corrupted i tried 3 different pc and 3 different USB drives I get error "Operation Terminated at offset " on HDD RAW copy around 49% or so.

Can some one please confirm that also.

1) Use HDD Raw copy 1.10 tool
2) Burn Image simpleminer-RX-v1093-4.11.rc8-16.60-enableexe0ANDips0.imgc OR simpleminer-RX-v1093-4.11.rc8-16.60-enablerc60.imgc
from https://simplemining.net/download/

Please confirm that you are either able to burn the whole image or not.

Thank you.

When i make the bootable usb drive and the program completes the burn, it shows up as 2 drives on my main pc. One with the config file and another one I can't acess, just says I need to format that drive.

Same thing happens to me, what's your point? Put your email in the config file, save it, eject and put into the mining rig

for the config file you just put your email address in, you'll then need to log into the dashboard on the website to enter in wallet info and command parameters for your wallets

My point was making sure that's what was supposed to happen....
When i put it in the mining rig it doesn't show up on the device list under boot list. How do I boot from it?

Hi guys,

anyone got this working in smos or any linux build?

any linux experts can show how to install and make the file...

i hate going back and forth to windows and gpuz to see what memory brand is being used to flash the correct custom roms.

flashing roms using atiflash on linux is so much easier compared to windows

thanks

Tytanick - any chance in putting this tool in utility folder in next version of smOS? Thanks

That's not - oops. I misread. YES, amdmeminfo will show you the VRAM type. I read VRM manufacturer >.>
Crud. Doesn't look like it supports the 500 series. Guess I can probably figure out what to do from the source though.

Use this one: https://github.com/sling00/amdmeminfo

Hi, I have two questions:

1. Did anyone get 8 gpus working on this OS?
2. What does this mean?

Yes, I gues Pandaminers with 8 gpus ? If not then other configurations, yes.

MSI Z270-A PRO
it must have latest firmware !!!
4g encoding.
make integrated gpu as default
disable audio
set pci-gen to auto or 1 or 2 (dont renember right now Tongue)
If you will still have problem i will look into my bios  tell me if this worked for you.
Also see what soothaa wrote below, after you check those please tell me which image did worked

I'm just asking in advance as I didn't yet buy two more cards so I'm running on 6 gpus right now

many tnx for your OS as I have been trying to get my rig to work on windows for the last 7 days with no luck, on your OS everything works so far so good

just to sum up:

6x sapphire rx570 pulse (elpida)
6x pci-e x1 to pci-e x16 usb risers v003
asus prime h270 plus
celeron g3900
4gb ddr4 ram
16gb usb drive
2x fortron hyper 700w

modded bios on all gpus (strap from 1500 copied to 1625, 1750, 2000)
bios settings: 4g encoding enabled, DMI/OPI Config & Peg port on auto, disabled audio, integrated gpu as default
oc settings in smOS: core 1132MHz, mem 1975MHz, power level 1

solo eth: 170MH/s @ 900w
dual eth + pasc: 169.4MH/s + 1694MH/s @ 1104W

keep up the good work  Grin

so i was finally able to get the usb drive recognized but it doesn't boot, just a garbled colored screen, so i'm guessing I have some sort of hardware issue. Would boot into windows but crashes with a driver issue everytime you try to start any mining program or anything that loads the gpu. This is with 3 different gpu's run 1 at a time, both stock bios and modded.

I have not been able to get it to build due to a lack of /tmp space to build it :/

For those waiting on the info for the MSI Z170A M5 Gaming board and 7x GPU support I finally have it working on both of my boards.

1) Make sure you're running the latest BIOS!
2) Enable 4G
3) Set PCIe support to "Auto" - DO NOT MANUALLY SET TO GEN1. THIS CAUSES MAJOR ISSUES
4) Enable onboard graphics startup as first! I believe this is changing "PEG" to "IGD" or something in the Advanced BIOS
5) Plug your monitor into the ONBOARD graphics
6) Use either simpleminer-RX-v1093-4.11.rc8-16.60-enableexe0ANDips0.imgc or simpleminer-RX-v1093-4.11.rc8-16.60-enablerc60.imgc (sorry, I don't remember which I used!)

My 14x GPUs have been stable all night long!

How did you manage to reduce power from the wall? I bring up 10 video cards but the power is nearly 1700watts. I have try with moded bios but no difference. On W10 i have managed for 6 v. cards to consume less than 800watts.
SM is a great thing but without voltage control is not acceptable.

SM is a great thing but without voltage control is not acceptable.

I haven't done anything nor have I even checked the draw. I did use the Powerstage feature and all the cards are set on 0.

hmmm.... if only we can build a "flashing rom utility thumbdrive"  Tongue
If I get time at work tomorrow I'll try and compile the tool in the same kind of environment and see if it'll work. I may also be taking down a couple of the rigs for migration today and I'll see if I can increase the /tmp space that way.

This is normal with 4G enabled. Did you follow my instructions? Is your monitor plugged into the onboard GPU?

Hi everyone.

I'm using SMOS from 14 days - great job Tytanick. Today I wanted to try Dual Mining with some Pascalcoin. Did the proper settings in Claymore 9.3 and my hashrate for Ethereum dropped to 50% of normal speed to about 13,5-14 MH/s per GPU while Pascal was around I believe ~2500 MH/s in total.

What have I messed?

My RIG is 6x RX 570 Gigabyte Elpida @ 1060 MHz core clock, 1940 MHz mem clock, power stage set to 0, 820 Watt from wall - it was stable for 14 days on Ethereum solo at 164 MH/s.

For Dual Mining I tried to even set power stage to 5 but it doesn't work either, seems like mining Pascalcoin is prioritizing over Ethereum.

I'm newbie miner, if this issue isn't software related please forgive me and ignore my post. Believe me or not, had tried to solve it by myself already.

add -drci 10 at the end of the commands, mine looks like this

Code:
-epool eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal wallet/Vacs/email -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://pasc-eu1.nanopool.org:15555 -dwal wallet.vacs/email -dpsw x -dcoin pasc -etht 1000 -dcrt 1000 -ftime 10 -dcri 10

Thanks to Soothaa continuing after I gave up. I can now run 7 570s on my 170a boards!

Anyhow, I've been carefully watching my power usage due to having to make sure I'm balancing the load of my machines across circuits. I'm not doing anything with the bios tuning to try and lower my power but I do set all them to power stage 4. With that, a 7 gpu rig runs under 1000w at the wall or just under 9 amps.
