There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

are they shipping latest miners in normal time now?

No.

By all accounts they haven't shipped 1 fully functional and reliable Titan yet.

Problems:

a) quota feature broken
b) low hash rate
c) unreliability
d) 5-7 second flushes of old work
e) doesn't work well on coin switching pools
f) doesn't work well on faster block time/low network hashrate coins
g) lots of bfgminer errors
h) reports of I2C and SPI bus issues
i) reports of dead dies
j) reports of DC/DC problems
k) reports of good cubes degrading over time
l) apparent slow progress of firmware development/fixes
m) reports of higher than advertised power consumption
n) reluctance of KNC to accept problems
o) slow production/delivery rate
p) concerns for safety due to alleged fire hazard
q) report of ee design problem -> no resistive termination of control cable bus
r) report of ee design problem -> one PCI-e connector
s) report of ee design problem -> rPI
t) difficulty of access to web admin interface due to performance issues of rPI
u) reports of yield problem with Asics
v) list  of problems is getting bigger every day

I'd say that is a fair summary.

The elephant in the room: the collapse of BTC prices must be causing severe cash flow problems at companies with large mining operations, particularly those with high operating costs and especially those without other significant sources of revenue from hardware sales to satisfied repeat customers.

now taking a loss on a pre-order or alts and bitcoin tanking is one thing...but now it looks like it is a combo doorstop/space heater....ie it plain ass don't work! Sad

anyway...wondering if you are somewhere in this slow leak Titan(ic) lifeboat as well..(kinda of a crowded lifeboat.....don't ya know)

pre-orders...damn I'm stupid (everyone feel free to pile on ..I deserve it!)

sheesh it would be BAD ENOUGH if the Titan worked zippo presto

out of the box and a 10 min install at 300mh....the fact it plain ass don't/won't/can't work or whatever is just kicking me while I'm curled in a little ball

whimpering.....I mean jeez..(looks at BTC price $305 usd....and dropping.....curls back in to ball ...resume whimpering....)

P.S. Then again I just looked at the bitcoin price on www.coinbase.com ...it is at $284 usd......so all the above is likely moot....must be what it felt like to grand dad

The following advice is based on a best guess. I don't know the exact part number KNC uses on their boards. Modifying electrical equipment can be dangerous, may result in operational problems or hazards and may void your warrantee. Having said that:

You need one of these: http://www.molex.com/molex/products/datasheet.jsp?part=active/0026013116_PCB_HEADERS.xml

A search for Molex 26-01-3116 at Mouser should get you what you want.

$1.89 in quantities of 1 with gold plated terminals at Mouser.com. It would have been so thoughtful for KNC to put 2 of these on their Neptune and Titan boards. In quantities of 2000 they are $0.89 each, with gold plated terminals. These are rated to 13 amps/circuit if used with 45750 Mini-Fit+ HCS crimped terminals and 16 ga. wire. The one you picked out is only rated to 5 amps/circuit.

Here is the data sheet http://www.molex.com/molex/products/datasheet.jsp?part=active/0026013116_PCB_HEADERS.xml

Code:
To Whom it May Concern,

I purchased a computer product named "Titan" from Kennemar & Cole AB (https://www.kncminer.com) aka KnCMiner.

KnC 20nm Sweden AB
Birger Jarlsgatan 33, 5tr
111 45 Stockholm, Sweden
Org number: 556949-2928

The "Titan" product they have shipped to consumers is not functional and poses an extreme fire hazard.

I will now explain why the product is a fire hazard and that the company knows it is a fire hazard and has sold and shipped it to consumers anyhow.

The product is called a "Titan" and it's a specialized computing device.  It receives power from a standard ATX computer power supply such as those sold at any computer store around the world.  The Titan has uses a single "PCI-e" type power connector.  The industry rating of these types of connectors is for a maximum of 75 watts.  The problem occurs when the Titan is turned on and begins working.  Each unit of the Titan uses 245 watts of electricity.  This causes the connector (where it is attached to the Titan unit) to melt and when completely melted, the power supply pins touch each other and a short circuit is created with the potential to cause a fire.

245 watts is way more power than can be safely used with a 75 watt connector.

These devices are not certified by any authority nor do they comply to any standards.  They do not have any UL certifications of any kind.

I purchased this product expecting it to be safe to use and to conform to the national electrical standards and rules of Sweden.  It does not do so whatsoever and is a danger to all consumers.

The company 'KnC' aka "KnCMiner", "Kennemar & Cole AB", has produced similar products in the past that have also caused fires and melted due to their high power consumption, lack of safety features, and non UL listed specifications, parts, and build quality.  They could have revised the product to use two or three connectors and it would have worked safely.

Aside from the safety issues, the product is also defective and does not perform the functions it was advertised to perform.

I can supply more information about the product.

I'm attaching a picture of the melted power connector cause by this device.  Luckily I smelled burning plastic and was able to turn off the device before and more damage was caused.

I have been in contact with dozens of other consumers who also purchased this product 'Titan' and have also experienced melting connectors, burning wires, non-functioning devices.  KnC is refusing to honor any refunds.

I would like to return the product for a refund.

Below you will find my original sales receipt.  The product was in production for many months and was finally delivered to me three days ago, on 10/02/2014.

Regards,

from a litecointalk Titan customer:

I have to accept the truth. The Titans seem to deteriorate as time goes on. I don't think firmware can fix that. The quality of the chips is a problem

A customer on KNC forums:

Quote
I have 2 titans, my average HR per titan is 175 Mhash/s. My Titans cost me $10,000 each

Another customer on KNC forums:

Quote
mine is probably averaging 100Mh/s overall, and I have to constantly work on it to get that.

And another Titan customer:

Quote
My hashrate is 0 Mhash/s... and I have four Titan cubes. Arrrrrrrrrrrgh. HWSTATUS is "OFF" for all!

Kurt on the KNC forums:

Many apologies for the inconvenience caused.

I have never dealt with such an amoral, incompetent pathetic excuse for a company as KNC in my entire life.
