What does it feel like to live thru the mania of the waning days of BTC after that rush of a spike from nothing to 1200 bucks got eveybody's blood rushing ? Are you having fun yet ?

If you think this is bad, wait till BTC hits 100 bucks again

OMG!! Thank you very much for posting this info.
I asked about this on their forum, but never got a response.
At least, now I know.

I just got confirmation from KNC Miner this morning that for those who orders the B1 and B2 Neptune's their 2nd free Neptune's value will be marked at $1000 USD. So if you have to pay customs in you country you are screwed, like me! lol

Hello SmoothRunnings,

The bonus miner will be shipped with declared value 1000 USD.

We cannot make it lower because after investigation on this matter it came out that customs will not let the product through if the mentioned price is lower, or will ban us for the future deliveries.

Best regards  |

What makes you think that some of us aren't massively profiting from these price drops?

For some of those shorting, a drop to $100 could spell instant retirement.

How does shorting works? I mean if you just sell the BTC you gain nothing. It works like in a forex where you open a sell order and when the price goes down then you make money? How many providers offers such services?

Sort of.  I borrow 100BTC from someone and sell it for $500/BTC.  Now I have $50,000 and 0BTC, but I owe that 100BTC back.  Let's say USD/BTC now drops down to $100/BTC.  I buy 100BTC, now I have 100BTC and $40,000.  I give the 100BTC back to the person I borrowed from and keep the $40,000 for myself (or convert that $40,000 to BTC at $100/BTC and keep that).

There's quite a bit more to it, but that's the basic idea.

As to who offers:  Bitfinex, BTC.sx, PLus500, and others I'm sure.

Didn't Bitfinex experience some issues with slippage on a recent short squeeze ?

Thin markets are damned risky to be short - this isn't a strategy I would recommend to the inexperienced ...

4 bitcoins for 1 tera/hash for only 6 months. I think that ROI (with all calculators) is impossible

As predict, bitcoin might ramp again over 1000usd by Q4 or next January, 4 bitcoin will worth 4000usd, then with in 4 months, that will double investment again, but that's kind of gambaling.

On the same day bitmain announce 1TH cloud mining for $772 + $3.24 per day maintenance ($1,345 for 6 months, no expiry but probably won't be viable much longer anyway, and this is probably a -ROI deal)

saw this article...  looks like congratulations are due to KnCMiner for their recent investment (60m) to build more datacenters.

http://www.di.se/artiklar/2014/8/28/de-bygger-sedelpress-i-boden/

the google translation of swedish looks like this...

KNC Miner manufactures computer chips used to verify that all transactions undertaken with the digital currency Bitcoin is done correctly.

Every time someone verifies a number of transactions created 25 new digital coins. Those who conducted the check, the new coins reward. It is called in the business of mining and bitcoins is equivalent to printing money.

KNC Miner is a world leader in the development of the computer chip used in the process.

"Our chips do not have a lot of features., You can not use them for surfing or checking your email. But they are faster and better than anything else in terms of breaking bitcoin," said Sam Cole, CEO and co-founder of KNC Miner.

Having the latest technology is crucial because different switches constantly competing against each other. Only those with sufficiently fast computer with new coins. The reason that KNC Miner both breaks own coins and sells equipment to others, according to the management that there are so many bitcoin to break that company alone would never be able to grab it all.

Since KNC Miner launched its first bitcoinbrytare in June 2013, the company sold computers for about half a billion. Meanwhile, the company has broken its own bitcoin to a value of approximately 200 million.

The company has so far not published its first financial statements. Management would not disclose what the profit is expected to land on when the 2013 and 2014 totaled.

Sam Cole says, however, that the company bitcoinbrytning, which therefore has revenues of approximately $ 200 million since its inception about a year ago, has a profit margin of about 80 percent.

In order to further increase profitability, the company plans now to move from selling hardware to offering a cloud service.

"Instead of selling chips that have shipped to 120 different countries, we will offer a software service that clients can connect to. They purchase on our computer capacity and using it in place of your own hardware. This reduces costs significantly for us" , said Sam Cole.

To get sufficient computing power in the cloud should KNC Miner build two new data centers in Boden in Norrbotten, where the company already has a hall earlier. The existing hall is located in a helicopter hangar that formerly belonged to the Armed Forces and the next two will be in the vicinity.

"Northern Sweden is perfect., It is cold and there is plenty of space but the infrastructure is still good," said Sam Cole.

The already completed facility is 5,500 square meters. It is not yet clear exactly how large the new halls will lead but describes them as gigantic.

In order to finish building them as fast as possible, the company recently brought in 60 million from investors, including the venture capital firm Creandum.

"We must not take the money because we can print your own. However we choose to do it anyway in order to build the server halls as quickly as possible," said Sam Cole.

He says the new facilities in Constance is extremely energy intensive.

"In terms of the surface, we are not equal Facebook's server hall in Luleå. But we will consume more electricity than they do," said Sam Cole.

In addition to the two halls of Constance management plans to build additional facilities such as backup, however, at a secret location. The risk of sabotage, the company employs strict security procedures.

"We have military fence around our facilities in Constance and guarded around the clock., The server rooms we now construct are close a building where there are trained stewards," said Sam Cole.

the original is here ...

So Bitmain their electricity cost is .1875 kwh

Their 1TH plan  it will mine about ,51 btc before electricity cost more than the btc it mines.

still better than KNC, loses less.
