Hi.

I have a problem getting my stickminer to work. The same thing happens all the time. The miner blinks two times with a white light (The green light is always on). Then I get the attached
message. Any ide what I can try to do?

I dont know how to add a picture here. But it says: "Failed to open Device Parameters registry key in lowl-vcom.c _vcom_devinfo_scan_windows_hubport():556:System can not find the file

Did you run the instructions per the first post for your particular setup? My understanding is that covers pretty much everything minus sticks going zombie and possible HW failures. Looks like you might have skipped a step...

I'm running 2 2Pacs at a frequency of 200. One of the miners always goes into Zombie mode. I've turned on the voltage on the one that goes into zombie mode and that seemed to have worked. Both miners were running fine for a few days, but just recently that same miner just went into zombie mode again. I think I've turned the voltage up the max on that particular miner, I'm not really sure what I can do to fix this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just as a side note, I'm using a good powered hub that supplied 2.1 AMPs to each port, in case this information is helpful...

Yep lol they are cooled by a fan. These guys get pretty hot!

Do you get any HW errors on the zombie going stick? At 200 MHz the voltage pot is at a good position when it´s set to 3 or 4 o`clock.
Did you measure the voltage on the stick?
Did you try this stick alone, without another stick on the hub? I also thought I had a hub with enough power. My power supply is 30 W and I run two sticks on 250 MHz on it. So it should bring 6 A (3 A per stick). But when I turn up my voltage a little higher, there is not enough power.
Maybe turning down the voltage is the answer.

I'm just going to give up and ask ya, sorry Sidehack, I know your busy. What is a good upper threshold temp you like to see on the front board and heat-sink of these gekkos. I'm trying to both avoid damage, and at the same time like all of us I'm guessing trying to provide peak performance with optimal cooling.

Hello, my name is Himmbler, I bought two USB recently, today an error appeared and now they do not work. CGminer says failed usb_init (1:40) failed to initialise.  I have tested them individually in diferent OS and HUBS  and they do not work at all. Any recommendation?

It will run for 1-2 minutes, and then disappear. It requires me to unplug the USB port and re-plug it back into a different port in order for it to get recognized again.
Plugging into the same port does not cause the 2Pac to be seen, it must be into a different port.

Im running on a RPI3, so it has 4 USB ports.
All I do is stop cgminer with a ^C, unplug and replug into a different port and restart cgminer.
No reboot or power cycle needed.

Just kinda wondering why the cgminer compile for windows and specifically the gekko compiled one has a virus attached, i had to disable windows defender multiple times, plus add exclusions to avoid it being deleted. Being new to using the 2pac, I even had to use Firefox to download it as chrome flagged it as well.

windows defender has its head up its ass  .


make a folder  named mining  go to windows defender and exclude  the folder named mining

put the cgminer folder  in that folder named mining\

 It's not odd, it's lucky.  You might have caused some damage to the circuit or it might have cause a fire.  USB ports are designed for 0.5A max.
