How do you load all 8 - 10 gpus with risers on the motherboard? can you put all gpus on the motherboard at the same time and it will load all the gpus?

In windows, you have to put gpus 1 at a time. is it different in linux?

Thank you!

After applying nvOC-19-2-update, one of the rigs probably doesn't boot to desktop cause VNC doesn't work, can access it by SSH or nvOC web interface:

How can I fix Nvidia driver?

The update scripts pulls and installs all available updates for the ubuntu system. Please make sure that you don't interrupt this process, wait few minutes to finish. Once finished you will need to reboot for the changes and updates to take effect.

We have tested updating from 0019-1.4 to 0019-2.0 on many rigs and worked well.

Please note, this is still beta release so until it's confirmed bug free and ready for final release the upgrade path is from working 0019-1.4 to 0019.2.0

Once finalyzed we will release full 0019-2.0 image, as well as final update script for those that want to upgrade from 0019-1.4

Thank you for testing and reporting back.

If you haven't resolved this yet, I have personally experienced a similar issue and have this in my notes as a fix:

Code:
### Fix for nvidia-smi not found
# Box was rebooted while making kernel updates
sudo dpkg --configure -a

Hope this helps.

Where can I download the latest update script for the nvOC v0019-2.0 Community Release?
Would it help if I participate to the test (very late) it or would it be better if I wait for the final image?

In windows, you have to put gpus 1 at a time. is it different in linux?

Thank you!

On nvOC first boot:
You should disable integrated graphic from bios, connect 1 card to main PCIe slot (closest to cpu) and connect monitor to it.
Boot nvOC, wait for it to load and if needed it will reboot.
Then shut down, connect all cards, reboot.

No need to add one at a time like windows ...

keep calm and carry on mining ...

Questions about Vivo Coin, i need some advices about it :

It seems that this coin be stable and profitable since i can see it in WTM coin list, but we don't know who is behind this coin not even on their own official page !  Huh
Is this coin is more risky than others listed on WTM ?  Undecided
I wonder for weeks on this piece ... Undecided

1/ Is anyone tried this neoscrypt miner software ?
NSGminer : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=712650.0
if so, did you get better performance (hash rate and power consumption) than with other mining software?

2/ Is someone here mine Vivo coin ? If so, can you tell us which pool do you choose because there are a lot listed on their btctalk thread but, i can't détermine which is better to choose.

Hmm... using a ASUS Prime Z270-P with nvOC;

both 16x slots work fine
PCIE1x_1 and PCIE1x_2 work fine
but PCIE1x_3 and PCIE1x_4 will not detect a card...

I've swapped cards from 1 and 2 to 3 and 4 and at all times, 1 and 2 work while 3 and 4 are not detected.

Is it some motherboard setting perhaps?

@marty
Just checked to make sure and my Z270 is running 5 cards at the moment. Only 1 and last 1X slots are empty and running great.  Sounds like you have a bad MB to me.

try nvOC beta or windows, you will see if it is software or hardware problem and start troubleshooting from there

I am testing 19.2 but have the problem that the mining process will be terminated, watchdog process too.
Mostly after the miner was switching based on Algo change. Checked also on a second rig with only one 1070TI.
Thanks for your work - any ideas?

I am testing 19.2 but have the problem that the mining process will be terminated, watchdog process too.
Mostly after the miner was switching based on Algo change. Checked also on a second rig with only one 1070TI.
Thanks for your work - any ideas?

Yes it should be terminated and start again
WTM Auto Switch Logic is :
if ALGO_SPECIFIC_OC="NO", it only restart miner and watchdog (to prevent wdog from catching low util and restart again)
if ALGO_SPECIFIC_OC="YES", it checks coins algo
if algo changed, it restart watchdog, temp control and 3main so specific algo takes effect
if algo not changed, it only restart watchdog and miner

You will see a miner terminated in gnome-terminal when algo not changed, if you check wtm tab you see it started with new command line and you can watch miner output log with:

Code:
~/nvOC miner-log

I have some ideas for next version to show the miner info in a new tab when miner terminated.

Should we maybe retire this thread for a new one unless fullzero is coming back? Just worried about the outdated initial post throwing newbies off completely. It's probably impossible to follow development now.

Thanks to all whom helped us testing nvOC v0019-2.0 Community Release.

Testing is almost done and we will start making the full image install any time soon.

If you caught any bugs please send me, Stubo or Leenoox a PM or post in forum so we can correct it before releasing the full image.

Keep calm and carry on mining.
Where can I download the latest update script for the nvOC v0019-2.0 Community Release?
Would it help if I participate to the test (very late) it or would it be better if I wait for the final image?

Testing is almost done,
But it would be great if more people test so we make sure all is good for image release.

Testing - 19-2.0 Community Release Update Script
Hi Papampi,
In the file that I downloaded I cannot find the update script. I can see the release notes and all the new scripts, but the update script is missing. What is the update procedure?
