damn dude, I gotta give steamboat props, he deserves MASSIVE respect, like it or not, he has the most organized avalon chip groupbuy i've seen.  Steamboat has been a top notch member of the community here, I commend him for doing what he is doing and dealing with some of the unique personalities here.  We need to remember frustrations are mainly caused by Yifu/Avalon's screw ups, and steamboat is ready for the chips and has done everything possible to make this successful.  I only hope yifu gets those chips out quick this week and we get some good news.  I still want my miners, im sure he has spent countless hours preparing and organizing this, im happy to be his customer.  Maybe if things get much worst and Avalon decides to fuck us even more and Steamboat is able to refund/auction off our chips/hardware,sure i'll take his advice.  But I whole heartedly believe he is not out to screw us and is out trying his damnedest to make the best of a bad situation.  

I dont think he deserves a bit of impatience or disrespect, im sure he has some solutions to the problems we got, just be patient guys, if you wanna bitch at someone bitch at yifu, keep the peace here and why dont we talk about how we are going to set up our miners?  

The measure of the man's character is not how friendly and communicative he was when he was TAKING our money. It's how he behaves when it comes time to give it back. I agree that he handled things FAMOUSLY when it was easy and fun for him to do so. That's not what's in question here. He's intentionally avoiding us like a coward, because he hasn't got the stones to face people who want answers. And he's more worried about figuring out how to maximize his profits on his assembly business, rather than making good on prior commitments.

There's not a single shred of evidence that he's "trying his damndest" to do ANYTHING, except avoid the people he has responsibilities toward.

There is no specific deadline in Avalon's literature, ie Sept. newsletter, the online refund form has no deadline either.  Zefir has a Wed. deadline for his group buy only.
My ignore list is growing.

Did you think for a moment about why Zefir has the Wednesday deadline? Because after that, Yifu receives the chips, and he might very well send them out, making refunds impossible.

I'm not willing to take that risk and would've liked to see steamboat make a stand before this Wednesday deadline. I'm not sure why steamboat is choosing to take a giant risk with our money, while all other groupbuy hosts have acted in a timely manner to avoid the risk of not receiving refunds.

We have sent the first of a two part update to all members of the group buy. Please note this email has accidentally been sent from steamboats personal email address. A copy of this update is posted below.

The following is an update on the order status of Avalon ASIC chips regarding an order you have placed.

Chip order status:

We have been in contact with Yifu over the past three days and are currently negotiating a compensation plan for damages incurred as a result of Bitsyncom’s failure to deliver. We cannot give any additional information at this time. While we are working to reach a fair and agreeable resolution for all parties involved, it is still unclear whether further action will be required, and we make no promises regarding the outcome. Yifu has informed us he will be releasing an update later today, but has not disclosed the topic.
   
We have confirmed with Yifu directly the eligibility of all batches ordered for a refund, to be processed when requested. Additionally, there is no deadline for requesting a refund. As such, we have begun processing all requests for refunds of orders placed with us, which will be submitted to Yifu upon each batch being requested in full.

The following procedure will be used to facilitate the refund requests:

Refunds will be in the amount of 95% of the original .086 BTC purchase price, or .0817 BTC per chip.

All those requesting a chip refund will be allowed to do so, so long as there are enough requests to fulfill an entire batch.

No customer will be forced to accept a refund in order to process a batch refund.

Each customer may choose to submit a refund request for a single order or all orders they have placed, but must refund each order in its entirety. Partial refunds for any order will not be accepted.
 
Refunds of batches will be requested from Mr. Yifu Guo of Bitsyncom beginning with Batch 6, and continue in reverse order to the first so long as refund requests equal an entire batch.

Customers in a batch which has been refunded will be placed in an earlier batch according to their position in that batch’s order, and their position relative to other batches. All purchases will be kept in their original order, and the order book truncated to reflect the refunded purchases.

Once a refund request has been placed with us, and the refund request submitted to Mr. Yifu Guo of Bitsyncom, it is final. There will be no option to receive the chips originally ordered for any reason once the process has begun.

Chip purchase refunds will be dispersed upon receipt of the refund from Mr. Yifu Guo of Bitsyncom. We will supply any administrative paperwork necessary and do what we can to facilitate the refund. We accept no responsibility for any delays outside of our control, which include delayed receipt of the refund from Mr. Yifu Guo of Bitsyncom, and will not disperse refunds prior to receipt of the funds from Mr. Yifu Guo of Bitsyncom.

To process your refund, please fill out the refund request form found at the bottom of this email in its entirety. Each refund request will be verified for its authenticity and processed. And the ~$60 assembly cost? Not the parts. Keep the parts and resell them if you want. This is a huge deciding factor to those of us who want to refund but are held back by this assembly fee for something that hasn't happened.

Can you please update us partial refund of klondike miner assambly what did not taken place and shipping fee (some of us have intl express what cost $75). All other assamblers offered partial refund and full refund for shipping. I think that most of us agree to take a lost on pcb and parts ($35) but assambly and shipping should be refundable in full. Heatsink and BOM parts could be resold all continue to sell to the buyers who want them.
I am also undecided for chip refund until I hear option regarding refund of LSD services.
