It's a copy of the first article - but it's always better than a copy of the coindesk article.

Btw - Head of Performance Marketing at CoinDesk Ltd - visiting my linkedin profile. At least they read that email.

Just wanted to say great job (especially cedivad) on making headlines in your effort to prosecute Hashlast. An example needs to be set to protect the mining community. Keep up the fight. Where is the legal fund donation address?
If you want to "protect" the mining community stop buying preorders.

That was in August.  Nothing has changed or will change.  A customer will never get a unit that will be worth substantially more then market price at the time of delivery so why keep giving these companies a free put option.

Yes, they are in complete ignore mode. Hopefully they will ignore the arbitration letters as well.

Does anyone has a copy of the headers of emails exchanged with @hashfast.com around the 15 of August?

I'm trying to verify whatever they were using Google Apps at the time or whatever else.

Thanks.

Someone suggested that they will be in silence mode until 15 January. Let's see what happens then!

I wonder if Luke can share with us his specs for the units and also power consumption.

Why don't you start a collective fund so that this guy takes one person and works on the case to it's conclusion. If he succeeds then you can get cheaper lawyers to do the light work of referring to the first case as a precedent (assuming that even applied).

This would make it easier on the pocketbook of customers and leave the lawyer with a less than fat wallet.

Quoting from http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/arbitration-basics-29947-2.html:

Quote
The arbitration decision.
Arbitrators are free to base their decisions on their own ideas of what is fair and just. Unlike judges, they are not required to follow the law or the reasoning of earlier case decisions.

So basically, we will have to present the same facts again and again, to new arbitrators in each case, who will make individual decisions.
We might win 80% and loose 20% of the cases, even if we are totally right.

I don't think we can spare the later cases by referring to precedents.

That being said, if HF realizes that it keeps loosing all the cases, they might settle the later ones, to spare the (futile) legal costs.

The problem with contingency is that it creates an incentive for the lawyer to optimize work/reward for himself and not for the client, which has also been documented with real estate agents. Thus the lawyer may have an incentive to "resolve" the case within the first month by accepting a 20% bitcoin refund as a deal and never having to do any work for it...

I have asked him about this, and here are the most important points of the answer:

 * The lawyer will not have the authority to accept any settlement the client does not want.
 * The contingent fee only attaches to profits over the current settlement offer. (So accepting the USD value would earn him NOTHING.)
 * For customers not wanting to go on a contingent base, we can also do this hourly, and maybe it will resolve quickly and easily. (But don't hold your breath.)

  * * *

As for me, I am fine with the basic terms offered. (I have not yet signed anything specific. It's gonna happen in the next 12 hours, I guess.)

JuicyAds.com Is A Scam

JuicyAds.com is a SCAM !
How so ?
JuicyAds.com cheats Advertiser by not paying Publishers.

Basically, JuicyAds.com STEALS banner from publishers (by changing the Ad codes) so that banners displayed at sites will earn publisher nothing while JuicyAds.com is pocketing full fees from Advertisers.

How Do I Know ?

I discovered something is amissed when some of my poupular sites made less than it used to be while when the traffic has also doubled due to some promotional effort. The thing is I also display banners from BlackLabelAds.com along with JuicyAds.com, and earnings from BlackLabelAds.com has increased accordingly but JuicyAds.com's has gone down !

So out of curiosity, I took a look at the stats, I found out only stats of certain banners is displayed at their site, I asked Jay (the scam artist boss of JuicyAds.com). And he instead asked me "your banner is Ad# 123456, right ? And he said the traffic for so and so banner/site is a very low ..."

I didn't suspect anything then. Weeks later, I noticed their stats actually show no traffic at all for one of my most popular site !

I asked them again, Jay the scammer himself responded and said the site has very low traffics (but stats from two other sources are telling me this is not true).

How Doe JuicyAds.com Do That (Scam)?

So, I decided to take at look at the Ad Code, guess what ? I found out the about 2/3 of Ads Code at my sites are completely different from the ones JuicyAds.com are selling to Advertisers!

In another words, I am displaying the ad banners just for fun while he collects all the revenue generated from Advertisers.

To straighten things out, I replaced the Ad Codes with the one JuicyAds.com is selling to Advertisers (many from my sites even have long term contract from Advertisers) and all of a sudden, all the stats of my banners skyrocketed at JuicyAds.com !

So I asked Jay the scammer what is happening ? He couldn't explain anything to me at all.

I may be one the very few performing publishers who happens to discover their unthinkable scam - I have heard of scammers who do not pay at all, I have never heard of scammer that steal banners from publishers like JuicyAds.com.

I asked for payment, they even refused to pay what is left in my account (they have been stealing 2/3 of the banners from me all the times !).

In the end, I have no choice but to start deleting my account and along the process, I must have alerted some Advertisers because I actuall "rejected" many of the long term Advertisers on my site, then only Jay finally responded and asking stupid questions ... But I have decided to expose their scam.

You have been warned.

I think I missed the start for this hunt , but what is this article?
Maybe I have the wrong idea but does it connect Juicyads and ScamFast?

Because I've been working with juicyads for a few years and I can't picture them involved in this.

It seems like many people are not aware of this but you don't have to make your refund request by Jan 15.

That date is arbitrary and not enforceable.

If HashFast has not shipped to you yet, you can get a refund AT ANY TIME>

They have not yet shipped, so no sale has taken place and you have not agreed to any contract.

They can't just say, "sorry, you ordered a product but didn't ask for your money back soon enough so we get to keep it regardless of whether we ever send you anything"

Don't believe their lies!!!

I do so wish that I could join a lawsuit, but I paid in USD.  I hate this kind of trash company even more than I want to earn BTC or want my own (relatively small) investment back.

I'm not sure I'll buy bitcoin miners again, but it seems to me that an independent miner "diligence squad" would be a pretty cool thing to have when other new companies appear.  Run down all this stuff that Phinnaeus is finding on new startups, but hopefully pull it together BEFORE you order, not later.  So people like Long Dong and Scrotum are known entities at an earlier stage.

Come to think of it, that's kind of the job of a press, but the bitcoin press isn't mature enough to pull it off.

Just a thought...

Probably best to not bother with CES if the T-Mobile CEO can't even slip by.

The whole point was to get kicked out...

Let’s be clear here, this is the very definition of a publicity stunt. Legere is smart enough to know that getting kicked out was a very likely outcome. And of course, the “controversy” surrounding it is nothing but good (and cheap) publicity for T-Mobile, and a knock against big bad AT&T.

Interestingly john removed "some" of his previous working experiences from his Linkedin profile. (there is now a 6 years hole).

Don't worry! Long Dong Johnson can easily fill it. I've seen pics.

On a similar note, thanks to my research on this upstanding (wrong word) company, Google, with its infinite wisdom, has opted to alter the ads I now see on all the pages I visit that use Ad Sense. At least it took a couple days for them to get up to speed in that regard, whereas last Friday I did one search--ONE--for a hotel in Indy that my sister was (and is now) going to stay at for a week then, within a couple hours, everywhere I went I saw ads, and still do, about said hotel.

Because I've been working with juicyads for a few years and I can't picture them involved in this.

deejne is Juicyads and is part of PlayPen with Kottmeier. Earlier, I shown a scam report about about Kott, now linking one about Juicyads to show a pattern. I believe I can post a myriad more of such about their previous and outgoing concerns.

Looks like they have resumed sales, the suspended banner is gone.
But the pricing is (almost?) the same. I guess that bruno has something to do with the resumed sales without the promised increases.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers
