Some notes on the best (or at least some of the better) drivers for AMD cards:

• If you have 6GB or 8GB card that is at least Polaris (i.e. 470/480/570/580, Vega, Radeon VII, Navi), you should run at least driver 20.5.1 under Windows 10, or driver 20.10.x under Linux.

Is there any way to patch drivers version higher that 20.5.1 for BIOS modified cards? I had no luck with PhoenixMiner detecting any GPUs for mining with 20.5.1 and as far as I know you can't patch newer drivers with AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher.

I have Asus 1070ti strix 8GB. in afterburner pov. lim 85, core +50, memory +600, in the bat file, strap 1 - claymore of stable 34.5 for several years. but a phoenix with the same settings 32 max !!! And loads gpu so that the pages in the browser are not scrolled !!! Strap 2 artifacts before power reboot, strap 3 does not start at all. What's wrong with it???

Hello! Does Phoenixminer support the "zombie mode" which is implemented in another miners (like lolminer) so we will be able to mine with reduced speed even in early January 2021? I just upgraded from 5.1 to 5.3b using Linux (Ethos) and speed reduced from 28.5 MH to 26.5 MH per one 570RX 4GB card... Any solution for this how? Thanks a lot for your help!!

   You may try to find the best possible settings between strap 1 and strap 2. Here is what to do:

• Enable the log by temporarily removing -log 0 from your bat file
• Start the miner and wait for a minute or so then stop it. Look in the log file for a line similar to this one: "GPU1: set VRAM strap 1 (-vmt1 25 -vmt2 20 -vmt3 0 -vmr 33)". Note that in your case the values in -vmt1, -vmt2, -vmt3, and -vmr will probably be different. Write them down.
• Remove -strap 1 from the bat file and replace it with the values that you wrote down from the previous step: -vmt1 25 -vmt2 20 -vmt3 0 -vmr 33 Again, the values in your case will probably be different, use them, not these example values here.
• Start the miner again and wait for a several minutes to see the speed - should be the same as with -straps 1 if you set everything properly.
• From here on you can start experimenting by stopping the miner, increasing some of the values by little (for example, replace -vmt1 25 with -vmt1 26), and then start the miner and check if it is stable and what is the speed.
  

Finally, if you want to use the computer, while mining, and without slowdowns, you must decrease the mining intensity by setting -mi 8 or even lower value (-mi 0 should allow uninterrupted work on your PC but will lower the mining speed). Do not decrease -mi while adjusting the memory timing values as shown in the previous steps - do it once you are satisfied with the other settings.

  Yes, we support something similar but the speed will start decreasing with each new epoch after 381-382. It is not a long-term solution, and there is no permanent workaround.

To Everyone wanting to play Cyberpunk 2077 and use Phoenix Miner there is a Work around to get it functioning again, although there seems to be a bit of a performance penalty.

It appear Nvidia moved/removed the NVSMI folder from ProgramFiles\Nvidia Corporation. I remade the folder and added the files that used to be located there and it seems to be working fine again.


It's only 4 files MCU, nvdebugdump, nvidia-smi and nvml.dll which can all be copied over from their new location in system32\driverstore\filerepository<you'll have to search from here for nvml.dll>\ to program files\nvidia corporation\nvsmi

Just create a new folder copy the 4 files over and you won't need to rollback or reinstall drivers to play.

How are people overclocking and undervolting Navi gpus on Windows using PhoenixMiner_5.4b and windows driver 20.12.1 ?

OverdriveNTool doesn't work past 20.4.2 , and using the miner params '-cclock 1030 -cvddc 700' doesn't work either. 

using 'cclock' and 'cvddc' , the logs show:
2020.12.12:18:55:57.470: hwmc GPU0: set GPU clocks to 1030 MHz (Vddc 700 mV)

however, checking gpuz or hwinfo or even in the miner itself (hstats 2), none of the OC values are actually applied.

Honestly tried googling, found nothing.
Win10 2004, latest NVidia drivers (downloaded and installed today)

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. It's the newest NVIDIA drivers that are the issue. They're trying to fix it for the next update. There are a few posts about it here amongst the last few pages. You can roll back your drivers, wait for a miner update, or try one of the fixes that other people here have tried.

does Trex do better hash than phoenix on the nvidia cards?  is there a reason that you are aware of?

This post contains the instructions on how to fix the latest 460.79 Nvidia Windows driver. The reason for the problem is that one of the DLLs (nvml.dll) that the driver installs is corrupted. Here is what you have to do in order to fix the problem:

• Extract the file nvml.dll from the .zip archive you have downloaded in the previous step, and then copy it to the folder C:\Windows\System32. There will be a file with the same name here, so you have to overwrite it (you will be prompted by Windows are you sure, blah, blah, blah)

Note that this .dll is the original .dll from Nvidia (it is still digitally signed by them). If you are really paranoid, you can download 460.79 drivers from Nvidia, then use 7zip to open the .exe and extract the dll (you will find it at 460.79-desktop-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe\Display.Driver\nvml.dll), and then copy it to the C:\Windows\System32 folder.

My Line is This Have Something Wrong ?
