Maybe its been noted but I can't connect with the stratum address with cgminer Its been saying "24 unauthorized null" and jumps to another pool on my list.

Did something change that I missed since the newest news it about 7000 users.

I'm going to make a quick email on bitminter site but I'm trying to post here first. Hope its something new I didn't noticed and not something bad.

Like the info address for potential tips Wink

I find my ASIC's hanging up sometimes and going all hulk "green" for anywhere from 5-30 seconds if not longer. Only startd happening about 2-3 days ago.

To be decided...

Now the first of my ASICs finally arrived I'm back mining again.

Quite disappointed to find the difficulty jumped from 50mil to 600mil in the time I was waiting (thanks BFL for the delay).

Glad to be back on board though, even if my ASIC's are generating less BTC per hour than my graphics cards were back in the day.

BTC wasn't anywhere near $800 when you were GPU mining (or even when you ordered your equipment, for that matter), so enjoy it while it lasts.

same here, i got mine today as well (a 25Gh/s BFL).

It's working nicely, buy indeed with the jump in difficulty and price, it would probably have been better if i had invested the €1000 in bitcoins while the price was still $80 instead of buying an ASIC that woul dbe delivered 6 months later.

Yeah. I had 18btc - an investment of £2000, and I spent them all (except for 0.9btc) on 2 ASICs (1x 7Gh/s jally, and 1x 30Gh/s LS).
If I'd kept the BTC, I'd now have around £10,000
As it is, I have £500 and have paid out £45 in customs charges for the Jally, and will have to pay £200 or so customs for the LS in a few days.

They better mine me at least 17.1BTC between them, or it's not been a good investment! XD

The number of unconfirmed transactions is very high and growing rapidly. I've changed our settings to make bigger blocks and include more free and minimum fee transactions. Hopefully that will help somewhat, but I think we need other pools to do the same.

About that change you did in settings.. Might it be connected with bad luck that pool is having lately?

No. Changing the transactions in a block does not improve or reduce luck. This is superstition.

Someone also suggested that deleting wallet.dat and starting over once in a while improves luck with mining. This is also superstition.

It's normal to have some unlucky rounds just like it is normal to have some lucky rounds.

Note: the above is a simplification and not strictly true. IF you can find a weakness in the SHA-256 algorithm you may be able to improve success with mining. You can read about it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sha-256 and try to find a way to break it. I bet that since Bitcoin became valuable more people than ever are trying to do this.

This is the best mining client and pool i have used.

No configuring, just mine away.

I have a request: Add litecoin mining support Smiley

This ^

Have been a Bitminter user since Jan 2012 when there were maybe a couple of hundred workers total, to see it now at over 11k workers and a total pool hash rate of over 300 Thps is just amazing !

A Litecoin version would be awesome  Wink Cool

Much respect and many thanks DrHaribo !!

Devcoin and Ixcoin are almost worthless. Not worth the bother. We would even push their difficulties higher and make them even more worthless if we started mining them.

Devcoin is a broken concept. From what I remember it was based on a centralized dude controlling most of the coins and giving them to his developer buddies.

Ixcoin was an old premine scam. Apparently someone didn't read the memo and is still buying them, although very cheaply.

I believe most on the top 50 use Jupiter. I would guess most use Stratum. You could get lower bandwidth usage and perhaps slightly less rejected work with Stratum, but otherwise I think GBT should work fine. Maybe some Jupiter users can give some advice on upping the hashrate.

Does this mean that using the Bitminter client is not advisable as other clients, such as cgminer in stratum mode, would produce better results?

Speakin of options other than the client... I want to try using CG miner on a laptop I'm refurbishing and use it for nothing but mining. That said, is there a standalone version of CGMiner that can run on a computer and not say merged with MinePeon which I also use on my rPi.

If so can someone please link me to it because I tried lookingg on github but I came accross a bunch of stuff I did not undertand.

Ty.

To be decided...

Is this on a graphics card? Did you change the driver?

This is using two Butterfly labs rigs and nothing was changed. It just out of no where started producing stale and hasn't stopped.
