Doc,
Any reason not to block getwork requests completely? Seems it would be a good move to force everyone into the current age. Other pools have phased out getwork.

I could understand why not to, if I person has a single blade he /she can connect straight to bitminter without the need for the proxy. That is one thing that puts bitminter ahead.

Except running a blade on remote getwork is inefficient and costs you a few % of your speed since they aren't able to multi-task when submitting shares. They also submit every diff=1 result regardless of server requirements, eating up even more time. If you have a blade and do not run a local proxy, you're losing out on your potential.

There is currently a problem logging in using Yahoo OpenID identities. I am looking into it.
Apparently Yahoo changed something about their login mechanism today.
No need to send a support request about this. I am already on it.

I understand your point, but it is nice to be able to point the blade to it getwork port when you have to do updates and maintenance on your computer running the proxy. Losing a few shares vs an hour downtime seems acceptable. P.S. almost thought I was in the wrong thread seeing your name, lol

What the fudge happened during this shift? No. Completed Duration Difficulty Total Thps Your Ghps Your score Your work 20264 2013-12-10 23:38 1h 13m 908,350,862 355.8
I came in to find my rig crapping itself in the corner with about 1/4 of the cores shut down and it running at 2/3rds speed. Restarting the miner cleared the issue up. But, it looks like it wasn't just me...

We had some problems with botnets today. You probably got disconnected in the middle of that and some mining clients don't like being disconnected. I'm sorry about that. I'm trying to handle this with a minimum of disruption to normal miners.

If Yahoo doesn't fix their OpenID service in a reasonable time frame then I have to create some automated way to securely identify who is who and add a new OpenID identity to their account. I can't do that manually with many thousands of users. I have some ideas for an automated system but let's see what Yahoo does first.
Mining works fine and all coins are secure in your account. This is only preventing Yahoo users from logging in for the time being.
One you are back in your Bitminter account you can add other logins under "my account" -> "logins" in the website menu so that you can have more than one way to log in.

C'mon yahoo, get yer shit together!!
I was trying to find somewhere to complain at on the yahoo side, but got lost in their help system, apparently you're only allowed to have certain problems, and this ain't one of them.
Edit: Seems this might be part of a bigger problem, they have many customers unable to access mail for 24+ hours...

It's worse than that. They've been having intermittent issues the last few weeks, and it's actually impacting their Fantasy Football leagues.
