In any case, ou luck an change with better rates, so hopefully we can et it back up.
Well, luck won't improve with more hashrate, but the impact of good and bad luck will be reduced.

It happened before and will happen in the feature But as we all know green pages are coming There are folks which come and go because they do think that they are loosing here but this is not the case

Can somebody explain for me (or link to an explanation) the reason for the extra long shift that ended at 2014-01-03 02:10? I understand some server moves have been going on ... were we down for awhile? My bfgminer crashed at that time and I only submitted minimal work for that shift before I realized and came back up.
Yes, the data center outage caused mining to stop for a while and that's the reason we took longer to finish one of the shifts. Try the latest version of bfgminer, hopefully the crashing when being disconnected is fixed. Thanks as always, Doc! I may try upgrading bfgminer ... this is actually the first crash I have ever seen. It's held solid through downtimes before, believe it or not. I was shocked.

Finally, 3 blocks in the last 3 hours including a 6 minute block. Hopefully we'll get a break from the 8+ hr blocks for a little while. Knock wood (and don't jinx it).

Being Chinese, I am now wearing red underwear to ward off the bad luck. I STRONGLY SUGGEST IT!
my brother teaches english as a second language to Chinese students. I will put on a pair of red jockey under pants right now. Followed by a red jockey undershirt! Is this TMI? Seems to have done the trick!! Lets hope we don't see another block like that for a while. 99.8% CDF Let's hope so. I have had more than enough visions of people in red underwear for now (actually it works better if it's a hot chick in red underwear.). Quoted for posterity.

question to the doctor antminer sticks are flooding the market they are a killer stick. when do we get support for these?
I am using cgminer / special build from github and have 30 sticks pointed here they hash at 2 gh and sip power.
pretty nice sticks. do you need me to mail one to you? they are a perfect physical match to asic miner in terms of size.
they hash at 2.0 vs .333 so 6x the speed at 2 watts vs 2.5 watts. a lot of people will want these to replace the am sticks.

Looking at the 'Blocks' page, it looks like whenever (or almost always) a block of BTC is solved by a member, he also solves the NMC within a second or so. Is that how it works? A BTC find also solves NMC? I would have thought they are independent and would be solved at different times / rates?

BTC and NMC are solved by the same proofs-of-work (that's why it is referred to as 'merged mining'). Right now NMC difficulty is slightly less than BTC difficulty. So if a proof-of-work solves a BTC block (difficulty 1.4 billion) then it always solves an NMC block (difficulty 1 billion). The converse isn't necessarily true; that is, a proof-of-work may be enough to solve an NMC block but it may or may not be enough to solve a BTC block.

Looking into this. No ETA yet. These Antminer USB sticks are close to my call @ $50 per 2 gh and are a reasonable effort. The Original AsicMiners are getting lost in the dust, need price drop for those to sell faster as you need 25-50 of em now to make a dent in BTC. Did you get anywhere with Red/Blue/Ice USB miners ? Pretty soon we will be buying old BFL gear when it floods the used gear market, doubt any but the very rich will crush em... We are the kids on this block

I think it might be wise drharibo to post what you actually updated in your latest software update mentioned in post #5475. Now I know the answer is right above it. But as our bad luck has coincided with that, I think that is where people are getting the silly idea you changed how we mine or something.
lol, this is too funny...nobodys holding a gun to your head to mine here. Dont you think its odd that nobody out of the top 50 is complaining? When i started mining here, 7 days to find a block was the norm. I was in the top 15, mining for the last 2 months but the latest series of DDOS and the data centre incident made me switch to Ghash.io It was a good run, mined around 80BTC.

I don't have any red underwear! Maybe I need to go shopping! Now taking donations for red underwear! I spent all my money (more than I should have actually) on new asic miners, unfortunately they won't be here until March. So I'll be adding 1.2-1.8 Thps in march. I might have to sell my pre-order on one miner. I sold some gold coins I had stashed away to get some money. now I don't have any more gold to sell if I get in trouble. My wife has some very nice sexy red underwear... Maybe that's why she is so lucky! OK.... so I do have some good luck. I have a sexy wife in red underwear. Korxax 1NtV1q29FtRAYAkMJHMYbASZLiLur2FQe

Looking into this. No ETA yet. Is there still a problem with the pool? It looked like things were starting to return back normal yesterday with my payouts amounting to the total number of bitcoins I am supposed to be making every 24 hours. Today I have only received 2 payouts thus far, less than half what I should be getting every 24 hours.

Yeah, I got tired of 3 minute outages resulting in half my proofs for a shift going poof. I've been trying out another pool.

Bankers and rich guys, centralized banking to bitcoin ? That what you want ? Or do not care, just want BTC. Looking at the graphs on blockchain.info, ghash.io has an estimated 37% of the hashing power for the past 24 hours. They have been growing rapidly, and were at less than 25% a month ago. If they continue to grow at this rate, it's highly possible they could control 51% of the network.
