I also like their advanced security features (global settings lock). withdrawal bank transfers have also always been very fast (0-1 workdays). To me its obvious they simply on boarded too many new users and never upgraded their trading system, which was quite unstable right from the beginning. They obviously lack skilled coders.

Actually withdrawal transfers are listed as $500k per MONTH for tier 4, but when you actually go to withdraw any amount over $50k for the YEAR, they lock the transfer and take months to give you your money back and that is when they inform you the limits are $50k/year. You would think they would switch the limits advertised as $500k month on their site.

My son made a deposit on 31-07-2017 and was confirmed on 01-08-2017. Just one day.


Has anyone else had a problem with deposits recently?

Actually if the market is liquid this can't happen, it's not over the counter trading, there is an order book, so someone selling at a lower price should have gotten the trade.

3 possibilities :

- it's a bug and the trade didn't happen.
- the market has so poor liquidity that there was literally only this buy order and one sell order to fill it.
- it's the bug Kraken is having for months now were orders are not filled like they should be. They now have one more angry customer.

I deposited a Japanese account in dollars. I am not a resident of the United States.

I am from south America.

As I said earlier, my son made a deposit a week later to Japan and the next day confirmed the deposit.

this order was real. I tried to catch it but was too late   But I sold 0.05 BCH for ~6 BTC/BCH, which is also ok.

Kraken launched BCH trading before crediting the BCH balance. So everyone was able to place buy orders, while nobody was able to sell.
This 700.000€ order was a limit order of 0.001 BCH (still worth 700€). So it was intended by the buyer.
I guess it was just a rich guy who wanted to immortalize his order in the chart.

I actually saw this in their chart while monitoring it during the Bitcoin cash mayhem. At first I was like, "WTF?" and then realized that a real trade did happen with that order. That certain trader should be smiling right now as he earned ample amount of money from the person who placed that buy order.

Today 08-08-2017 I received a response to my case from Kraken:

We have been unable to locate any deposit in our account that matches the information you have provided. Unfortunately there is not much more we can do in the way of investigation as we do not know the route by which your money was sent or if it was sent to the correct account.

For this reason, it's SMBC's policy, and standard in the banking industry, that the sending bank is responsible for tracing delayed payments. Please contact your bank to initiate an investigation on the payment. SMBC will be contacted by your bank (usually by SWIFT message). It is very important that your bank contact SMBC for the investigation.

We understand that this is a very time-consuming inconvenience and we are sorry for it. But unfortunately it's the only way to resolve the issue.
