Is it possible to add options to disable detections AMD or NVIDIA GPUs? I.e. --noamd and --nonvidia. This is necessary for proper integration into NiceHash Miner Legacy Fork Fix

lolMiner

-- Announcement Thread --

Hi there,
this is the announcement thread for lolMiner 0.5 (stable version) and lolMiner 0.6 (alpha 4 version) , a multi algorithm Equihash miner with focus on AMD GPUs (OpenCL based).
Note it will run on most Nvidia GPUs, too but the speed and stability may vary. Hope to improve this in the future.

Currently with this miner you can mine 4 different algorithms:
Algorithm    Req GPU Mem    Coins that use it
Equihash96/5
500MB
Minex Coin (MNX)
Equihash144/5
1.8G
E.g. ANON, BTG, BTCZ,XSG, ZEL and many more!
Equihash192/7
3G
Zero (ZER), Genesis (GENX) & Zero Classic
Equihash210/9
1G
Aion Mainnet

Download:

From github :
[Linunx & Windows] Click me (0.5 - Bugfix Release)

Hive OS Integration (as Custom Miner):
https://forum.hiveos.farm/t/custom-miner-lolminer/8135

Almost complete 0.6 alpha 4 releases:
ReadMe: https://github.com/Lolliedieb/lolMiner-preview/blob/master/README.md
Releases: https://github.com/Lolliedieb/lolMiner-preview/releases
The alpha versions will be used to identify bugs and improve the versions before their full release.

Usage:

The first way to use the miner is from command line interface. The syntax is

Code:
Linux: ./lolMiner --coin <shortCut> --pool <poolAddr> --port <portNumber> --user <Wallet or user name> --pass <userPassword>
Windows: lolMiner.exe --coin <shortCut> --pool <poolAddr> --port <portNumber> --user <Wallet or user name> --pass <userPassword>

Here the <shortCut> parameter is a short name for the coin you want to mine. For example inserting AION will configure the miner to mine AION, MNX for MinexCoin and so on.
For more shortcuts and more options please read the lolMiner_manual.pdf shipped with the miner.
lolMiner 0.5 supports fail-over pools, configuration files (easy sharing between Rigs and easy switching between coins), automatic worker names, a simple statistics reading API, logging to text file and many more features.

Estimated Performance (0.6 alpha 4):

GPU
   Equi 96/5
   Equi 210/9
   Equi 144/5
   Equi 192/7

Estimated Performance (0.5):

Most of this measurements were reported by community members in this thread. Results may vary a bit depending on clocks, driver version and operation systems:

GPU
   Equi 96/5
   Equi 210/9
   Equi 144/5
   Equi 192/7

560
  ~6.900 sol/s
    ~54 sol/s
~12.5 sol/s
 ~7.5 sol/s
(More data to come when available)

Known issues and troubleshooting:

Problem: The miner crashed at startup when creating memory buffers or miner ends up with 0 sol/s from start.
Solution: The AMD driver requires on start as many MB of system memory as it will need on all started GPUs together. Increase the fixed page file size (Windows) or swap partition size (Linux) to give the rig more virtual memory.

Problem: The miner gets unstable or slow when using more then 4-5 GPUs
Solution: Start two instances and use the --devices parameter (command line) or "DEVICES" (config file) to point one instance to the first n GPUs and the second to the next. For most systems that will work better.

Hello Dev,

Is there any customizing string?
Or is it just working with hardcoded coins?

Could you add GLT?
We are Multialgo, with supporting 30 algos.

Zhash is included as well, and users claim that they cannot mine GLT with lolminer.

hohoho (= ho^3)
Sry users for the long silence, I was very busy recently. Still I found some time to prepare lolMiner 0.6 for you Cheesy

Here is the download link:
https://github.com/Lolliedieb/lolMiner-releases/releases/tag/0.6

Changes over 0.6 alpha 4:

- Fixed a bug with defect shares when running on >4 GPUs
- Slightly improved AION performance on AMD
- Added support for edit ExchangeCoin (shortcut: EXCC) (Equihash 144/5) pow structure change that happens today (!)
- Rules back to the alpha 3 MNX code for AMD. Worked better for most cards
- Reduced Equihash 144/5 fee to 1.5%
- lolMiner Awesome OS integration and HIVE 0.6 integration will be updated automatically

Changes over 0.5 stable:

- New codes for all coins on all cards (better speed)
- New API and statistics module (API updating every 10 seconds)
- Better stratum stability
- Improved stability for many GPU systems
- and many more small stuff I can not remember Wink

One note regarding the EXCC support:

the work was funded by the EXCC team. If was a bit more to do, because EXCC has a different block header and also an own stratum format. Due to the funding the mining will be at 0 fee in the 0.6 stable branch. The miner supports the new official EXCC pool software that will get public with the fork. No proxy or similar required.

I wish you guys a very marry Christmas and a good start into 2019. I will come back some time in January with an alpha for lolMiner 0.7 Cheesy Stay tuned.

Check out lolMiner 1.56, an efficient miner for Ethash, Beam and many Cuckoo-Cycle and Equihash variants for AMD & Nvidia cards at low fees.

Why is 2M needed for AMD?
Why is 1M not enough?

Yes, the 0.6 works with MNX

For AMD the code is the same as 0.5, because the code I tested in alpha 4 turned out to be slower on Vega cards then the 0.5 code. For Nvidia the code equals the one of alpha 3 which is quicker then 0.5.  Hope to find something even quicker in 0.7 but did not start that task yet. Smiley

It's a pity that it is not possible to mine with "AMD Radeo HD 7450"
memory is 1M ant for mining we need at least 2M

Ah, then you mean 2G instead of 2M ...

well the 7450 is an almost 7 year old low end card. On the memory hard algorithms like 144/5 or 192/7 it would perform horrible like maybe 1-2 sol/s if even. You could try to run it with AION or MNX, that two algorithms may fit for the card. But overall I doubt that its worth the energy the card consumes.

Just a small hint if someone is reading here:

Someone is atm mining to my fee acc directly because using the default user_config.json file.
That very generous, but I guess you prefer mining into your own wallet Wink Hope this msg arrives the user Smiley

Hi all,

I am trying to mine Aion on the Ethos.

I get this error message:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost::exception_detail::clone_impl<boost::exception_detail::error_info_injector<boost::property_tree::ptree_bad_path> >'
  what():  No such node (COIN)

Any ideas what is wrong?

Seems that the --coin parameter or its config file counterpart is missing when starting miner. Can you check that?

The Most Profitable Mining Pool

There's more race between the most profitable mining nowadays but they aren't giving the right comparison between pools. In terms of profitability and consistency, it should be visible to everyone. In whattomine.com, they have no specific data which pool excels.

LEt's break that norms. Try Whalesburg Mining Pool and see the difference.
