What is the cpu on the board?
You need x16 (16 pcie lanes which is determined by cpu spec).
Slot needs to be set to x16 in bios not x8 or x4.
So for most systems 1 is max gpu thst can benefit from this.
i don't see the settings on mb bios for x16.. but i'm on Core i3 3240.. Board does show PCI-E 3.0.. trying many overclock for vram .. max still 18.. hardware limitation? I mean PCI slots.. CPU... or anything else.. |

2xrx4804g  so you are running x8 x8 on the slots. This is why only 22mhs not 27-28mhs on a card. The deal is this...full super zombie uses 16 pcie lanes. Most procs can do 16 or 16 and a 8 (so a could get 28 on one and 22 on rhe other) If you want to know how many pcie lanes google your cpu and put how many. pcie lanes...like g4400 how many pcie lanes and it shows 16. so for a g4400 only 1 card will be szm the others will be x1 on zombie mode. So most will get 1 szm , some will get 2...and even fewer can get 3...most would be 4 or 5 but now the proc/mobo/ram will cost more than buying all new gpus maybe.... And this will work for about 3 months or so...then dont expect another reprieve. Still amazing work and LOL should be hailed as the current king of mining software. LOL has really delivered for the small miner these last few months as most mining dava have. But ZM and now SZM...top shelf. |

Any thoughts on any rx 400 or 500 4gb card i try gets 1-5 mhs when pulled directly in board? My cards are not modded, do I need to mod them? If so, what is the recommended mod settings? link anyone?

I am testing lolMiner 1.22 (linux) with 40 GPU's (all 480/580/570 4G)
Resuts:
1) All speeds are always better than TRM
2) There are no rule to get better hashrates some cards go to 15MHz, some to 13MHZ, one goes to 25Mhz and other identical card on identical Mobo goes to 13MHz...
I think it will be nice to have a special instructions detailed for us to get the better hash on 4G GPU's.
PS: Enable 3Gen PCI not always meaning more hash on my tests

One of the important things is the PCIx8 or PCIx16... so that is also a bottleneck, lot of cards will give also a bottleneck if all the PCILanes are used... These is the reason why sometimes only 1 card is giving the max perfomance too... The autotune made by the developer is great, but normally is hardware bottleneck. |

out there question. 4Gb with Zombie mode are getting better than I am with my 8GB.
can Zombie mode be used with the higher cards? Would it improve them as well?

thats what it got out of the box before we had bios modding... incredible
