I’m one of those people who believes that a fighter needs to lose in order to grow.

They can lose, but better to lose before they sign for UFC or they can get out quicker than they came in.
Just look at Israel Adesanya and Khabib Nurmagamedov, who both have perfect records on paper without lost fight, but who knows how many fights they lost outside mma, in training, or in amateur unrecorded fights at younger age.

Here are a couple of tapes to watch if some of you guys are planning to bet on the main event.  I really think Rozenstruik is being disrespected here.  And Gane has like what..  7 wins, no losses?  I’m one of those people who believes that a fighter needs to lose in order to grow.  But dunno if this is the spot to fade the favorite.
The problem here is that both these fighters are talented and the UFC could have build them up and made this an exciting match up in the future rather than making them fight now but they do not give that option of showcasing to many fighters. Jairzinho Rozenstruik was on a strong run up before facing Francis Ngannou and with all the trash talking ended up sleeping and Ciryl Gane has the opportunity to move up the ladder if he defeats Rozenstruik and a couple of wins he could challenge the champion and both these fighters last fought Junior dos Santos.

Enjoy.  Smiley

Agreed. We have also witnessed this recently on the last main event battle between Razor Blaydes and Derrick Lewis. Many of the gamblers favored that it would be Blaydes. However, the winner was different hehehe.

The result will be volatile because this is a heavyweight fight where fighters can knockout their opponents on any round.

Where is @mich? He will like this. Montana, my sexy bet for this event hehe.

Well yeah..  But both those guys are the exception not the norm, esp Khabib.  And they had way more experience in MMA before going to the UFC.  Cyril Gane not that much.  So I think he loses a couple before he gets to the top.

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/79163-israel-adesanya

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/18536-khabib-nurmagomedov

And I have bad feeling with Adesanya in is upcoming bout vs Blachowicz tbh.  I’m leaning on Blachowicz for that one atm.

Blachowicz looks like an amateur fighter to me and I don't think he can compete with Adesanya on same level, but he is heavier and probably have stronger punches so we shall see who wins very soon.
I don't know if you ever saw Adesanya aka Black Dragon holding Chinese flag while he was fighting in China for their promotion Smiley

Israel Adesanya feels confident and even though he is challenging Jon Jones he claims that he was not ready to fight him but he was ready to fight Jan Błachowicz for the title. It is not going to be easy and i am also rooting for Jan Błachowicz to win the fight because i remember the Marvin Vettori fight where Israel Adesanya struggled on the feet.

Amateur fighter as the champion in one of the toughest divisions in the UFC Cheesy. Israel Adesanya have the skills as a striker but his ground game is zero and you cannot fight the elite with zero ground skills. Jan Błachowicz has Muay Thai background and that is how his powerful kicks comes in and he has the ground game with a black belt in BJJ on the other hand Israel Adesanya is an Amateur in the ground  Cheesy Tongue.

I surely get the feeling that Jan Blachowicz is a devastating fighter to face, and when he comes against Dominic Reyes he is a monster and looking on it he had dominated him so much that people are seeing who's really going to win,

But still I will go with Israel Adesanya the way he dominated Paulo Costa that many people think he might lose is much awesome the style bender will surely have something on his sleeves for Blachowicz and I think he can intelligently make a way in winning even the most crucial adversary

Adesanya is currently unstoppable whenever he steps in the ring and there are so many fighters whom he faced in his lasts fight that thought they can beat him easily and woke up to the ugly truth that they can't even hurt him. Now that he has a clean 20-0-0 record, it is understandable that he will give a chance to some opponents who don't have the same prestige as the last fighters he fought. He is giving them a chance to make a name for themselves in case he beat him or they gave him a close fight. Of course, UFC is making a marketing move here because with another new fighter rising to become a champion, their market will increase as well.

If Adesanya moves to next division, will he be able to beat all the fighters there? Anyone ever researched that ? Frankly, Blachowicz does not sound as a tough opponent. If he beats him, other fighters in light heavy does not seems difficult to win also. Just wondering if he could repeat Khabibs 29-0 record. Only 8 fights left Smiley

Oh I’m rooting for Adesanya for sure.  I think I was the only guy who was big on him when he was coming up.  But then again I think I was just one of the very few who watches all the matches per event..  Even the low level ones.  Lol.

But it’s good to see more and more of you guys are starting to watch all the matches.

Anyway, but for this spot, I think the lines should be a little closer.

As for Blachowicz looking like an amateur fighter..  Dunno about that.  I think Dominic Reyes thought the same and got his nose broken.  Cheesy  You guys watch it.

UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs. Gane

Wow! This is really a great fight to see, both fighters are a kickboxer we can see in the heavyweight's divisions that both fighters can sure kick a mainly rare sight to see, with this I can sure say that this will be a heated battle Jairzinho Rozenstruik beat Andrei Arlovski, Alistair Overeem and Junior Dos Santos and I am noting here that with Rozenstruik VS Overeem fight Overeem has suffered the worst looking injuries here and that is because of Rozenstruik,

my decision is split at the moment on who's going to win here but probably I think Ciryl Gane can make a hole and have Rozenstruik another loss.

Both kickboxers, but Gane showed more versatility when it came to finishing fights, seeing he can mix it up between standup and submissions (arm-triangle and heel hook) and we didn't get to see much of his offensive wrestling, but what we did see in the Mayes fight showed us that he actually does have some skills in that department and can very well mix it up with the kickboxing. Some of his movement on the ground was admirable for someone in that division. I actually missed the Boser fight so don't know what happened there but all in all, Gane is one heck of a prospect in the division.

Also Hill, Caseres and Rivera are on the card. They tend to have good bouts over all so not a bad watch on the main card.

Amateur fighter as the champion in one of the toughest divisions in the UFC Cheesy. Israel Adesanya have the skills as a striker but his ground game is zero and you cannot fight the elite with zero ground skills.

Well if you have your own wife as your manager like in case of Błachowicz then sorry but I can't say you are a real professional fighter,
and saying Adesanya with perfect 100% record has zero ground game, is such a bs not worth even responding.

Blachowitz has eight defeats so far, lost from many fighters like Thiago Santos, Patrick Cummins, Gustafsson, Corey Anderson, Jimi Manuwa...  and he would never be a champion with Jon Jones staying in this division.
That is the truth and I would add that he is not very intelligent fighter at all, strong yes, intelligent no.
If you are so sure in his game than bet on him please, I see odds are very nice Smiley

I totally agree, Ciryl Gane is most versatile when it comes to standup and submission that is why he can choose on how he can fight with his opponent and what better approach he can put to win the fight I am splitting my decision because he can not underestimate Rozenstruik power to TKO anybody,

after thinking and seeing recent fights of Ciryl Gane and Jairzinho Rozenstruik I think Ciryl Gane has a slight edge, over Rozenstruik if he's going to give his all by not underestimating his opponent and play it safe he would surely win that match, and I can not wait to surely see that.

Come on now. That doesn't negate the fact that he is a real professional fighter. Do you even have any data on her managerial skills before making that statement or did you just say it because you don't think highly of a wife being part an athlete's team?

Blachowitz has eight defeats so far, lost from many fighters like Thiago Santos, Patrick Cummins, Gustafsson, Corey Anderson, Jimi Manuwa...  and he would never be a champion with Jon Jones staying in this division.
That is the truth and I would add that he is not very intelligent fighter at all, strong yes, intelligent no.
The only fact here is that he lost to those fighters mentioned. Him not becoming a champ with Jones around is your version of the truth.

What's the standard before you can call someone an intelligent fighter? Someone that fights according to your knowledge?

Same here..  Edge goes to Gane but slight.  So the lines should be closer imo.  Gane is just 7 - 0 and Rozenstruik has fought some of the top fighters at HW.  Experience at high level is def a thing.  And here’s another thing, I’m pretty sure he learned a lot from the Overeem bout.  He got owned there til literally the final seconds.

At the end of the day, a big factor is what we discussed a week ago or so, is that at heawiveight everything can be reversed with one punch, especially when you have someone like Rozenstruik opposite to you, and at certain points Gane seemed like he might be to reckless and maybe relly more on his toughness and his chin to get through some of the punches...

I think Angela Hill has to win this one, not just for her stake in the company, but the fact that she had two split decisions with monsters like Gadelha and Watterson, I really think she is a top gatekeeper in the division that should, on paper, win this.

I know nothing about Cacares opponent tbh.

Tonights card is going to be a lot of fun no doubt! Expecting some very entertaining fights. Here's my predictions:

Max Grishin (Tko)
Ronnie Lawrence (Points)
Sabina Mazo (Points)
Thiago Moises (Points)
Alex Caceres (Points)
Jimmie RIvera
Mayra Bueno Silva (Sub or Points)
MAgomed Ankalaev (TKO)
Ciryl Gane (TKO)

As for the discussion on Jan being Amateur, I couldn't disagree more. Hes a seasoned fighter, and clearly knows how to have a war with his opponent. The only doubts are if he'll be able to impose his frame against Izzy, and be able to hopefully take him down. I don't see Jan winning this fight on the feet unless he just catches Izzy. I'm routing for Izzy, but I can't ignore that Jan could just catch Izzy with a big punch, and finish the night. Izzy is usually just so slick, and if he doesn't come into this fight complacent, which I'm sure he won't, then I do see him emerging victorious. Although, I do think Jan will stick around until the championship rounds, and if Izzy is to win it'll be via decision.

It’s not only about Roz’s death touch.  His experience vs top competition comes into play here imho.  But we’ll see..  The line on Gane could be justified come fight day.  But right now, I feel like the lines should be closer.

I don’t know much about Croom too except that he trains at Glory Fitness and MMA under James Krause.  His fighters have been on a good run lately, just last week Minner getting a win as the underdog.  And from watching some highlights on Croom, he has power in his hands, grinds opponents by the cage and a decent grappler.  He could stylistically be a problem for Caceres.

Well if you have your own wife as your manager like in case of Błachowicz then sorry but I can't say you are a real professional fighter,
and saying Adesanya with perfect 100% record has zero ground game, is such a bs not worth even responding.
If my wife is a good manager then i do not underestimate her skills because she is my partner, you do not always think outside the box and pay someone to find the best manager to be a professional. When it comes to the ground skills, if you watched all the fights of Israel Adesanya you will understand that fighters have taken him down but they were not able to keep him down and he is yet to fight anyone who has a great ground game and then you will understand what i am talking about. For a change watch Marvin Vettori and Kelvin Gastelum fights to understand what i am talking about or whether it is completely bull shit and this time he is moving up a division and i bet if he fights Jon Jones he will kill him in the ground.

Blachowitz has eight defeats so far, lost from many fighters like Thiago Santos, Patrick Cummins, Gustafsson, Corey Anderson, Jimi Manuwa...  and he would never be a champion with Jon Jones staying in this division.
If Jon Jones stayed in the division no one would become a champion until he wanted to, that can be said about Daniel Cormier as well but Jan Błachowicz fought for the belt and won, if you look at Amanda Nunes, she had defeats in her career but now she is on a winning streak finishing everyone. So having losses does not mean anything as any fighter could go on a winning streak.

That is the truth and I would add that he is not very intelligent fighter at all, strong yes, intelligent no.
If you are so sure in his game than bet on him please, I see odds are very nice Smiley
Jan Błachowicz is not a scientist, he is a bloody fighter and he is a champion because he knows how to fight and win championships, just watch the fight against Dominick Reyes and how he counters the leg kicks and forcing Reyes to move away so that he could get the space to strike his body, if it is not fight intelligence and game plan what would you call them  Roll Eyes.

I will place a small bet on Jan Błachowicz because the game plan of Israel Adesanya is faints and then some leg kicks and circle away and force the opponent to advance, if it is a striking battle Israel Adesanya will win but if Jan Błachowicz mixes it up and get a chance to clinch he can hurt Adesanya and Jan Błachowicz has nasty triangle and rear naked chokes.
