It seems to me that Yeng coaches the team way too personal than looking upon the objectives. He even picked his players rather than looking generally on who is more capable of playing in internationals.

I'm just intrigued on you saying that coach Yeng personally picked players rather than those capable of playing in the international.

Could you name those players mate so we could opine if indeed those players were not worthy to done the National's jersey.

I think it's he gets Ravena rather that Terrence Romeo? Hehe, I think every coach would really be bias sometimes as he knows his players well compared to the players of the other teams. For me, Romeo is better than Ravena and Romeo seems to be a bigger threat especially his outside shooting which the Gilas lack because they don't have a confident shooters like Romeo.

Im hoping that this pandemic will be over so I can watch again live game if the PBA  because I really want to see my favorite player and team. For sure most of us are miss to watch a live game because we are replaying the game before on watching the video in the internet.

Once the covid19 is over many people will be happy because they resume what they did not done before.

It was an intriguing picked but for sure Yeng have its own reason why picking Ravena than Romeo, and for sure if Romeo is interested to play for him he might pushed it more harder. We don't know what's the real reason why he didn't got that post knowing that he was part of the team before the fight
from the ausies.

Ravena and Romeo were part of Gilas before that brawl with the Aussies happened. Only Fajardo and Norwood were not suspended, all the rest including coach Chot Reyes were meted with suspension thus making Coach Yeng the head coach of the National team. Those players under him were left overs of the selected pool because most of them were suspended. Even Taulava made the call to join Gilas as there are no other bigs left that an help Fajardo in the middle.

I think you have explain it right, the good players in the Gilas were suspended that time, I remember Romeo doing a crossover when he got kicked by an Aussie player which is currently an NBA player, i think the guy is playing with the Bucks, not sure though.

Gilas players not backing down to the Aussies, however, the result was very bad, we barely have a chance in international games and then we allow such thing to happen and players are just suspended. I think I'll never watch castro play again in the international court, the young guns will take over, but who is going take over the best point guard in Asia?

They can't replace castro but they can rely on pogoy and with lee or  barroca, if lee and barroca is included in the line up since this three mentioned is experienced and efficient player. I don't trust ravena since he have so many exhibation which cause delays on their play. and also with the help of bolick and perez for sure they will not feel the castro's departure since even without him for sure gas sti a power house team since the young guns are good players.

I think it will be Thirdy Ravena that can take over the name of the best point guard in Asia but we should not expect that it will happen easily, he still not have enough experiences especially participating in international games. I miss watching PBA games and also I miss watching international games especially if the gilas have match between strong countries. I hope that we can now return to normal where we can watch and place bets.

Thirdy Ravena is not a strong ball handler, he is more of a wingman maybe you mean Keiffer Ravena. The later is groom to replace Castro in Gilas as he is now retiring from international plays but the speed of Castro is irreplaceable, he can't be called the best point guard of Asia for nothing  Smiley.

Even if Castro is done from the international scene, Gilas is still good with K. Ravena and Bolick on board. Yes, the young and fearless Bolick, not that quick but the basketball IQ is so high  Smiley. Damn covid, really miss seeing PBA badly.

Hard to replace Castro, he is very smart and if necessary he can take over.
A clutch guy as well with a very good dribbling skills and high IQ on the floor, with castro in the floor, the plays are properly manage, that's what I observed of watching him played in a lot of international games.

It seems to me that Yeng coaches the team way too personal than looking upon the objectives. He even picked his players rather than looking generally on who is more capable of playing in internationals. Though one of the great coaches there but he is not as great as being the right coach for GILAS, IMO. If it weren't about that brawl happened back then the team itself would play as if their last. Anyway, still waiting with those promising young guns we have in future though.

Who are these selections? And if that's true, Yeng is just picking those players in the current pool list and reserves. He can't just pick the players he wants. These players on the pool are granted by their respective team owners and also attending the practice.

Anyways Yeng isn't the head coach of the National Team now.

Indeed but I think it's okay for him to retire now. Yeah we're sad for his exit but he already served our country for quite a long time. I guess this is the right time for him to rest Smiley. Maybe he already realized that he is getting older and/or no longer confident that he still deserve a slot on our national team because of being less competitive.

Yeah! Those young rising stars got a big heart. I saw how they push hard last FIBA. Their fighting spirits are burning!

he will not retire but he will not play in the internal games anymore, just my guess.
castro wants to end his career in a high note, so he is wanting a championship before he will retire.

Let's just wish they will remain healthy now, it seems Bollick have already recovered so we will see his kind of aggressive plays again.

I know, what I mean is on his FIBA career Cheesy. He's not that too old, I believe that he can do more. For me his athleticism is still present and I can't feel that his speed diminished to be honest. Anyway about getting a championship before ending his career? Hmm I am not sure about it. The competition is on a whole new level now. TNT should make their line up more solid especially that superteams are now existing Grin.

TNT Katropa is rebuilding and for me they are one of the teams to beat in an All-Filipino conference in the PBA specially now that they have added Poy Erram to somehow gain advantage in the middle while Fajardo and Slaughter is out. They also got Simon Enciso and Ed Daquiaog to support Castro in the back court while Ray Parks is very much eager to prove himself that he deserve a spot on the team that he want to be in the All Defensive Team in the next awarding ceremony. Lots of changes in the team that is why coach  Mark Dickel is very eager on the resumption of the games in the PBA.

I forgot they already have Erram, that's a good addition to the team because their weakness is in the inside.
Enciso is a good shooter while Daquiaog is a good defender, hopefully they can fill the help the TNT to improve, yes, this is a different All Filipino cup team now.

If Erram can consistently make points inside, I guess they'll be a threat because they have good outside shooters so they will be unpredictable.

There's no superteam in the PBA now, Fajardo is still injured, so they are going to play a fair level of competition, and I think TNT has a decent chance of winning, I would be happy to see them win so castro could at least get his goal.

For international competition, that all depends on castro now.

For international competition, that all depends on castro now.

The only super team I know is the SMB, and yes without Fajardo they are not a special team, but they have Romeo now playing like a real star, that's the reason I am quite interested with what SMB could achieve when the conference resume. Fajardo might rest for awhile and though this is bad for him and for his team, but I see it good for the league as we can see teams with equal strengths playing.

he will not retire but he will not play in the internal games anymore, just my guess.
castro wants to end his career in a high note, so he is wanting a championship before he will retire.
There's no superteam in the PBA now, Fajardo is still injured, so they are going to play a fair level of competition, and I think TNT has a decent chance of winning, I would be happy to see them win so castro could at least get his goal.

For international competition, that all depends on castro now.
He already serve the country and giving chances to new young stars are better instead of placing yourself into international competitions where speed is really needed. He's mentality is not replaceable but he's not getting any younger and new players coming from other countries will add more difficulty for him to stand up, he should now focus with his local career before retiring his jersey. He will continue be known as Asia's best point guard.
