This was dated last February 26, 2020.

Feb. 26 was a progress report. Results and tests are already done. Since it's almost 3 weeks after the injury, they now came to the point that JMF might not miss the entire season.

Unfortunately, I rely on the first report I have seen. The report I'm talking about is way back few days after JMF suffered the injury. The news was Feb. 5, 2 days after the incident, wherein on that date, they are not looking yet at the possibility for JMF not playing the whole season.

They used the word "indefinitely".

https://rappler.com/sports/pba/june-mar-fajardo-out-indefinitely-shin-injury
https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/02/05/20/pba-injured-fajardo-may-sit-out-all-filipino-cup-report

A season is composed of 3 conferences. PBA just started a single game on All-Filipino before the league suspends operation. I just don't know if they will restart the season after All-Filipino to make things fresh next year.

But last week i saw in my social media feed wherein Fajardo already started his rehab and if we give him 3-4 months of time for recovery, this would be enough for him to play in the play-offs if San Miguel could make it that far even without him.

Actually that's the point of my post. Because of the pandemic, it's now getting possible for him to make a comeback at PBA All-Filipino.

- October is expected for PBA to resume.
- JMF recovery is 4 months since the operation so assuming, it was now healed by June or July
- For the remaining months, more on strengthening and therapy
- As I also pointed out, one conference takes 3 months
- JMF is expected to come back at least December the earliest or early next year. SMB just needs to work their way up without Fajardo during the elimination.

I think you have a valid point here, since the season is delayed, JMF can now have time to recover from an injury. Also, if he can't play once the season open, I'm sure the SMB has the tools to at least reach in the elimination game, we might see an old scenario during the SMB vs Alaska game that JMF return in the finals or game 4 I guess and SMB rally to win the series.

Good news again.

'PBA bubble' now being eyed either in Cubao, Clark, or Laguna

THE PBA is now seriously considering creating a 'bubble' just to get its long-stalled 2020 season underway.

PBA chairman Ricky Vargas on Tuesday made the announcement during the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) online Forum on the day teams resumed training for the first time since outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vargas, who is board governor of TnT KaTropa, said the league is now looking at possible bubble sites like the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Cubao in Quezon City, Clark in Pampanga, and the Inspire Sports Academy in Laguna.

Good news indeed. NBA bubble is a great success and the PBA could emulate that one, after all there only 12 teams in the PBA, not much to control unlike in the NBA where there are 20 teams involve. So, if this will push though on October and they will have games every day then i think the timeline for JMF to return would not be enough but still a good thing as this season would be open to everybody, championship wise.

Excuse Junemar for now he needs to be rested for the rest of the season, its good for him so that he will not became a injury prone if they push him to get back this season. And for the current happening seems the situation is controllable also the numbers of team in PBA is not big as NBA so maybe its good to restart the series since for sure the officials learned some tactics from the NBA.

I'm really excited to see the games up running hopefully it will start soon.

Good news to all the fans of Phoenix and Calvin Abueva. I have read an article saying that he have already completed the necessary requirements for him to be reinstated in the PBA though the commissioner said that there is still a process for the ban to be lifted. At least the chance of Abueva to be playing this resumption is getting clearer and clearer.

Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) commissioner Willie Marcial revealed that he has already met with embattled Phoenix forward Calvin Abueva following the completion of the requirements that were set for the lifting of the latter’s indefinite suspension.

However, Marcial announced that a proper process still needs to be undertaken before Abueva’s suspension — which is going on 14 months now — can be lifted. In an appearance on the Philippine Sportswriters Association web forum, Marcial said he has already relayed this to Abueva

That process which only between the commissioner and Abueva not sure but it's intriguing why it take this long for him to comeback.
That behavioral issue if it's the main reason shouldn't take this long as he can go and seek for professional psychiatrist to help him up to develop proper attitude towards this league, But all in all it's great to hear good news like this as Abueva's present to the league bring some additional spice to the game itself.

With this long suspension he experience, I doubt he would still act immature once he gets a chance to play again.

Indeed its a greet news to hear and its close to reality to happen since we all know the number of cases has decrease recently also most of places on the country is under GCQ so provably this planned will be done and hopefully they can finalize the schedule and also they can fully done with the safety protocol for betterment of all.

They are serious with making their own bubble, and that is a good news.

Here's a further development inside the PBA.

PBA teams bound to shoulder enormous cost of mounting a bubble

Quote
PBA insiders estimate that each team will spend between P3 million to 5 million for accommodation and food a month in a bubble set-up. There's also the high cost of mounting the games in one venue for television.

I like to ask, is that enormous enough? I think the PBA teams can afford to pay that amount monthly, they teams are own by millionaires/billionaires and I think they would still make revenue from advertisements when the season resume.

I think that it required enormous amount of money and i doubt PBA teams are willing to shoulder that. They maybe millionaires but they are businessmen, profit is what is in their minds.

Anyways, if they are not willing to spend, there's someone who is willing to fund the PBA bubble in Dubai.

Quote
Dubai organizers willing to host PBA bubble

THE planned PBA bubble is just getting bigger and farther.

Exploratory talks are now ongoing on the league holding the restart of its season in Dubai, which expressed interest in creating a bubble at the Coca-Cola Arena where teams and players will stay during the course of the Philippine Cup.

Commissioner Willie Marcial confirmed on Thursday the initial communication between the league and Mark Jan Kar, the commercial director of the famed arena in Dubai, which hosted official PBA games in the past.

This one is a better proposal, it's likely that the bubble will be a success as we might not see players violating the rules as they are going outside the bubble. Hopefully any of these proposals  will be realized as I know everyone can't wait to see the PBA season to resume.

As per report - https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/united-arab-emirates/

Dubai only has 68,511 cases while 59,472 cases have already recovered.

With this new option, we they can't make the financial matters as an excuse anymore, the only possible problem I'm seeing now is if the players are willing to leave and stay in another country to complete the season, also the bosses and management, can they make such sacrifice?

As per report - https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/united-arab-emirates/

Dubai only has 68,511 cases while 59,472 cases have already recovered.

Great figures, they have a high recovery rate, I'm wondering how they do that, but regardless it should be a good venue if we are looking for something safe from covid-19.

This is more interesting and for having that proposals it shows that we are near to see this, But for health and safety hopefully they will stay in one place so that they will not contaminate or get in bad shape once the bubble start. And also for accepting the proposals of dubai I think they will have a strict implementation for that matters.

Definitely, the measures will be strict and they could pattern that in the NBA that is currently having their success of the bubble now, expect with the current situation which some players have protested, but they'll resume soon, so their nothing to worry.

Back to the PBA, they will be in one venue  and the good thing if they will play in Dubai is they will not be distracted, they can fully focus on the game as they are far away from their family.

Hopefully we can hear more update about this recommendation.

I don't know if its good to play in dubai since its risky to travel, but I think its better to resume the game on province where there are zero case or less risk area. For sure there is a good impact for doing that since it could promote the local municipality where the game will be held.

But any of these hopefully we can hear their updates regarding on this since I think in september one the quarantine status will be changed and maybe PBA will roll their games for that matters.

Risk is not on the vocabulary of the PBA, they had held games in this country before. If we are to choose, we would like to see them playing in our country but if there's a financial problem that the owners not seeing it viable to spend a big amount for the bubble, it would not happen, but there's one sponsor that are willing to pay for the expenses as long as the games are held in Dubai, so they have to choose, for sure, more options will come.

I also watched a youtube video regarding the possible place of the PBA bubble and Dubai is the first option for this.

Although this is a good venue because they only have low cases and their recoveries is high, the expenses is quite high too. That includes the healthcare, transportation, hotel expenses and the foods of all of the players. If this will continue, they must've sponsors to at least shoulder the expenses.

I also saw that some of the options of the PBA bubble are Quezon, Pampanga, Palawan, Baguio, Tagaytay and some other more (can't remember some Cheesy).

You don't have to worry with the expenses as there are people who are willing to shoulder that expenses. if they might have to spend, well, at least a minimum amount only.  If you have not read the previous comments, you would not see it, but I'll post it again for you, shared by bisdak.

Anyways, if they are not willing to spend, there's someone who is willing to fund the PBA bubble in Dubai.

Calvin Abueva news again.

Calvin Abueva also needs GAB consent after getting PBA clearance

There's another one approval needed if the PBA would allow Calvin Abueva to play, but I think it's not that hard to get an approval since PBA is the one who really knows Calvin Abueva and has given him the sanction and discipline.  With this talks, it makes me believe that Calvin Abueva  will be come back soon, really soon.

Only a few regions in the country remained under the status of GCQ. With these, PBA have now lots of options to operate in the province and makes its own bubble. IATF recommended putting Manila on MGCQ which now allows the resume of big sports events but it's not push through in the last night meeting.

Since it will be a month-long for GCQ status in Manila, they have no time to prepare for the bubble if they will still push to resume in the capital since October is the ETA for PBA resume.

I will never forget the championship series because I bet for Alaska. No team on that day was able to win the series coming from a 0-3 deficit.

JMF's return on that game creates a big impact on SMB. They were able to give Alaska a straight 4 loss to claim the championship.
