If i have my way, i would pick a naturalized played just as the same or even better than Andray Blatche. He has the size and can play inside and outside and can help the locals on depending the bigs of other teams. Sadly we have to find a replacement for him since father time is already catching up on him.
I'd better get Jordan Clarkson over him and replace his position the next time with Kai Sotto. I know Kai was still young but I guess if he bulk up a little until 2023 which is a long way to go I think he will be a good asset of the Gilas team.

Come 2023 we may see some new faces on the Nationals and Clarkson may be one of them but not as a naturalized player but as a local, the SBP is working for him to be eligible to play for FIBA sanction games so we could get a naturalized player for a good backup. Chris McCullough is interested, SBP might consider him, he's still in his 20's.

Kai Sotto will be a shoo in for the 2023 FIBA and i think that he would still be soft by that time. Sans injury, Junemar Fajardo will man the middle by that time with Kai Sotto and AJ Edu as a worthy reliever. AJ Edu, half Nigerian is a good prospect, he is athletic and he got the breed to become the next big thing in the PBA if he can't make it to the NBA.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Do you guys think Brownlee would be a good fit for Gilas Pilipinas?
Former Charlotte Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap has some positive words about JB.

Justin Brownlee was really my idol as import in the PBA so I would love him to be a naturalized player since we don't have someone who can really produce consistent scoring in the team and with that, we need him, I know we already have Andray Blatche but I think he is not aggressive in defense inside so maybe we can find someone from our local to replace that position, we have our fil am players that would certainly like to contribute on that position.

It depends on what league Gilas will play internationally.

If I'm not mistaken, FIBA only allows 1 naturalized player for each country (not sure for qualifiers) so between Brownlee and Blatche, I will pick the latter because of his height and that's what we need. Blatche is also used to play at the center position so that makes him a special asset in Gilas lineup.

But for SEAG, Jones CUP, ASEAN, I think they can play together but surely one local will be replaced. Brownlee plays as PG/SG/SF and we have plenty of locals playing at that position.

Well, hoping that Brownlee will now be given a naturalized Filipino citizenship. I see him retiring playing here/for the country.

Blatche is also used to play at the center position so that makes him a special asset in Gilas lineup.
That's what I know too, that's why I like to ask your opinion here if you like Blatche or JB, and I get it, you like Blatche for some reason, his height.
I like JB because Blatche has the height IMHO, I am not satisfied with how he played in the court.

IMO, it's not necessary that they will play on the event you've mentioned as they are not the hardest, and I can see in the previous games, they are winning. In FIBA Asia FIBA world, this is what our fellowmen has really been following, so if we succeed here, that would be a big honor for our country.

I can't tell exactly, but his one of the greatest 3 points shooter in the PBA.

Rain or Shine roster is quite good, they managed last year to be so close on Finals, but Magnolia just stopped them in the semis game 7.

Per record I guess he is not, but as an exciting player, he is.
He is called as the Big Game as he is good in winning games especially in crucial times, but time flies, he is not getting any younger, so retirement is expected.

Because Magnolia is the better team in any angle, sorry to say but I am not convince with the current line up of the Rain or Shine, they are not a championship team, they are good in team work but they don't have a star player who can carry a team, James is a star player but he has age, and he only has a limited playing time lately.

Maybe some ROS fans are still disappointed when coach Yeng leave the ROS, so there is less love on the team now, but you are correct, they don't have a star that could carry the team, don't know who is their team captain or their best player.

Nah, I think he is, record says it all.

As much as I love to disagree, but you're right. He is being prone to injury last year and don't having much of playing time. Ageing really affect him though.

Their team captain is G. Norwood, a experienced PBA player and all star as well.

You are right. Yap is no longer in his optimum level, Norwood seems having a struggle on carrying the team also. I guess their hope right now are the youngsters like Rey Nambatac and the who compared with Yap due to having similar gameplays — Javee Mocon. For me they are now the future of RoS, I just hope they step up even more and show their improvements next conference. Definitely a team you can look forward Smiley.

I am disappointed as I am a ROS Fan, but I was able to accept it, I thought coach yeng was really a good coach as he brings success to the ROS during his time but I was wrong since NLEX now are struggling under his coaching job.

Nah, I think he is, record says it all.

sorry for the confusion, I was replying to this particular comment of yours, just to be clear.

I can't tell exactly, but his one of the greatest 3 points shooter in the PBA.

Anyway, thanks for sharing all his achievement, James Yap has achieve a lot in the PBA but his time has come and he needs to retire, give the new generation a chance to prove themselves in the PBA.

Their rooster is not enough since I think the age will slow them down in this case they have so many veterans on the line up and It's best to trade them up with those young potential players available, but I doubt this thing will happen since we all know that SMB is always have the favors in terms of trades since they have the power and money to accumulate on which player they like so I guess on next draft ROS should select carefully on which young rookie will help them on their next run.

SMB teams are still the most dominant teams in the PBA, both teams have at least a lot of all star players, unlike with Rain or shine that you can easily count their all star player and not even a starter in all star games.

so let's break down their roster. https://pba.ph/teams/rain-or-shine-elastopainters

Beau Belga (Probably a star since he is a Gilas Player, but does not produce a lot of numbers)
Gabe Norwood ( more on defense)
James Yap ( of course can contribute but not on his prime anymore)..

Mocon and Nambatac, these are probably the stars of the team, but it's still too early, they need to improve more.

Who knows? Time flies many things will happen by that time. I doubt the possibility right now for AJ Edu to make it on the NBA, no sign of it. Too many half breeds popping up breaking the internet even Jalen Green was one of it and what if he decides to be on Phil. National team too? That's really a what if.

I saw how AJ Edu played and he is really an athletic at a young age. In fact, I have more confidence with him than Kai. But because Kai is pure Filipino and he shows a lot of improvements today, I believe that Kai Sotto will become the future center for 2025 onwards of the Philippines. If ever he plays for our country.

Let us all look forward for 2023 because many giants and young aspirants will probably join Gilas. Is Jordan Clarkson has a sign of picking?

Speaking of Kai Sotto, here our some of his highlights while playing at the The Skill Factory (TSF) wherein James Harden, John Wall, Kemba Walker also their alumni players.

Gilas is far beyond to think right now, but as an exciting discussion as we're about to see "maybe" the best roster that we would have.

This is my own view. Self-analysis.

I'm also eyeing at the good future of our Gilas lineup. But I don't want to expect early much from the names mentioned here "for now". I want to see how they progress in the next 2 to 3 years before I can see if they can really boost the power of the Gilas team and not just a hype.

The real battle is on PBA. Yes, these youngsters will face a challenge in the international league but without a doubt, without experiencing the PBA environment, I see it's incomplete.

There are lots of strong players in the PH that plays for UAAP, NCAA, PBL, and when they face the PBA environment, only a few stay on their shape. Look at Kobe Paras for another example, trained hard and play for years overseas,  super athletic, high flyer, and do have a decent basketball IQ but I'm sure once he gets hopped on PBA, he won't be one of the dominant players for at least 3-4 seasons. Same with these PH youngsters on the hype. That's how difficult to compete in PBA.

We don't have a choice though. Some members of the current Gilas pool will bid farewell for a few years from now. I hope these youngsters will boom someday.

Possible as long as his NBA contract will not conflict on his Gilas journey.

He can play alongside Blatche since Clarkson does have a Filipino nationality and can't consider it as a naturalized player.

Not considering Clarkson will be the ace if ever he can make it on 2023 but his profile as an NBA player can serve as a mentor for other players especially at these college players that expected to be part of Gilas someday.

Without coach Yeng, ROS is in disarray right now. Belga, Yap and Norwood are nearing the twilight of their careers and as we can see they are on the rebuilding process but i don't see ROS on the top of the standing soon with coach Caloy Garcia on the steering wheel. Coach Yeng is an exemplary coach, he build nobodies to become stars of their own right. Cyrus Baguiao, JR Quinahan, Junty Valenzuela are a few examples, they are just ordinary players when they entered the league but when coach Yeng give them the confidence, the rest is history.

This is my own view. Self-analysis.

Agreed, with you here.

CJ Perez, Robert Bolick, and Troy Rosario are those youngsters of the Gilas. Looking forward to raise the flag of the Philippines someday in the Basketball Org. Not, the trending fight on FIBA against Australia. Cheesy

Reasonable though as both James Yap and Gabe Norwood are now veterans and already past their prime. There is still Beau Belga who can muscle theirs inside and outside defense.

ROS fans must hope that one of their rookies, Adrian Wong, Prince Rivero, Vince Tolentino, and Clint Doliguez will provide a boost for the team. And if ever ROS saw that their current lineup can't keep up with other teams, they need to overhaul and start doing trades.

They need to target getting a main man again like Paul Lee and James Yap.

Beau Belga is not getting any younger too, he is already 33 years old and I don't see him as a special player with talent, he is good with defense but he can't literally stop centers bigger than him like JMF.

ROS fans must hope that one of their rookies, Adrian Wong, Prince Rivero, Vince Tolentino, and Clint Doliguez will provide a boost for the team. And if ever ROS saw that their current lineup can't keep up with other teams, they need to overhaul and start doing trades.

They' can't rely on the Rookie alone, they need someone who can be considered as one of the best players in the PBA and you are correct they need to overhaul and they can do that by maybe trading some of their players.
