Looks like PBA is back, been off the news lately but great to see that it's about to restart in 2 months, tops. Resumption of the season is getting closer now, we are seeing some light here, and the expected month is October this year. There's still 2 months to prepare and get back on shape, then we can start betting and enjoying PBA again.
Yeah, the test results should be done next month so there's more space for those players (hopefully none) that would be tested positive.

Good news guys. No more stopping PBA team workouts as Metro Manila reverts to GCQNO turning back as PBA teams finally gear up for workouts starting next week.
The Commissioner’s Office is already looking at August 25 as the earliest possible date for teams to begin players’ training under a strict health protocol. Therefore with this announcement, it's expect that PBA will resume its season this year which is good. As the NBA is holding its playoffs now, maybe right after the NBA finals, we can already see some basketball again this time coming from the locals. Good news indeed. The last game of the NBA Finals this season would be on October and this coincides with the resumption of the PBA if everything went on smoothly, hope it will. For us, basketball enthusiasts and bettors, it seems that no rest from now on till the 45th PBA season commenced. October is the target date of the PBA to resume its 45th season that has been suspended since March due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

I'm expecting they will release on the public their preparation plan for next month including what kind of setup they will do.
2 months preparation is enough for all of this including regular testing (actually some teams are now doing this).
I'm wondering where should be the supposed venue or their options. If I'm not mistaken Smart Araneta and MOA Arena have been a busy location for Covid-19 related response although I don't know if there's still activities there related to that. But I think not a problem since there will be no live audience, they can even play in a much smaller arena compare to these 2 big giants. I hope they will create their own bubble and not after the game, all staff and players will be allowed to go home just like normal.

Maybe they will get a small venue since they cannot accommodate the live audience for now and those big arenas. Better if they used the venues on province since they can assure that the case of covid-19 is lessen compare to metro manila as well they can continue the game without worrying about getting back again on mecq status since if that happens for sur series will paused again.

That's what the authorities are actually recommending, at least safe for the players and we can just enjoy watching at home as long as it's live in TV. Our problem is not as serious as in the USA, but it's better to be careful so having their own bubble is highly recommended. They should start soon as we all missed the PBA.

Local Government Unit of most provinces in the country is strict. As much as possible they don't want to entertain or allow people from other areas. That might be a problem that PBA will face if they will choose to create the bubble outside Metro Manila. Even if the LGU will approve it, citizens themselves might disagree with the idea. But I trust PBA, they just need to show their terms so that people outside Manila will understand that there's nothing as big risk if they will choose to play there. Other popular venues that PBA used are Philsports (Ultra) and Ynares but since these arenas are in Pasig, and we know that the Mayor here is actively doing good in response against Covid-19, these venues are also currently in use now. That's what the authorities are actually recommending, at least safe for the players and we can just enjoy watching at home as long as it's live in TV. Agree. Actually even with the big daily increase in the confirmed cases everyday, we can say we are still truly kicking compare to other countries. Making own bubble shouldn't be a hard task for PBA.

Mindanao has lower case of covid19 I guess as this area is not yet that develop and not crowded yet. Besides, Mindanao has strict imolementing on rules to LSI complaince to quarantine in their facility and rapid test as well while in the quarntine area to make sure covid will not going to penetrate in provinces of Mindanao. However, there are other choices also like in the region 6 & 8 the visayas region there are good places to go with and small venue that could cater all the players and organizers in this event.

Let's expect more positive news in the coming months, PBA would not resume their practice if they are not aiming to resume the PBA season. They are still in the process now of ensuring that all players who will attend the practice are covid-19 free, so this time we can expect that slowly we are going at the right path and progress will be good for us and for the PBA.

[/quote] Yes, let us be positive anyway the government now slowly lifting the economy back to normal like cebu which has higher case of covid now declared by the IATF to proceed in GCQ. The NCR has conducted MECQ where only some part of it where being lockdown for a short days coming but still will have the plan to appeal and consider to declare GCQ in their area. The cases now too getting low by probably doing the lesser tests like only to those who shows symptoms with covid19 unlike before that even when one gets into contact the medical will conduct directly a swab test. So, I guess this is it with covid or not economy will be open to the public little by little.

Yes, and it's been open already, but we are awaiting for the PBA to resume, and the recent good news makes the fans optimistic we will see the season resumption soon.
Another good news for the PBA fans especially on Calvin Abueva's fans. Calvin Abueva completes all requirements, now awaits PBA decisionNOW the ball is in the hands of the PBA Commissioner’s Office.
Calvin Abueva disclosed he has already completed all the tasks required of him by Commissioner Willie Marcial before the indefinite suspension meted on him by the pro league 14 months ago can be lifted.
The eccentric forward of Phoenix is now awaiting the verdict of PBA chief Willie Marcial on whether he will finally be reinstated or remain in limbo if and when the league formally gets to restart its mothballed season. This sounds very positive, looks like Calvin will be back if the season will resume soon.

Other than that, he also mentioned something good: “Ang laki ng pagbabago sa mga nangyari sa akin sa past year na dumaan. Naging malinaw sa pagiisip ko kung ano dapat ang temper, dapat attitude sa mga tao,” said Abueva. Looks like we won't be seeing an old Calvin in the resume, but perhaps a new one now if the PBA Commissioner decision lifted his suspension.

He will likely be thrown completely in the league if he will behave like a kid again. I will assume the requirements given to him is more of community service and involving in the charity activities. And since pandemic hit the country, lots of works for him to be involved. And just recently, he teamed up with volleyball star Michelle Gumabao to provide aid for the frontliners. ‘Beauty and the Beast’: Michele Gumabao, Calvin Abueva team up for a cause

No question about calvin abueva's monster strength and ilhe has prove it already when he play with team gilas pilipinas on qualifying fiba tournament and other pro league. If the decision to lift Calvin Abueva's suspension to play in games then i agree that Phoenix can have a good support with Abueva especially in the rebounds and scoring too with his monstrous strength inside the ring. However, other teams like SMB are also strong where Junemar is one of the leading players in that team. PBA games are getting into unpredictable game results will be same.as with the NBA game.

I'm confident that even if he was not playing for more than a year, I believe he can still contribute to the team and provide good energy. Whatever team Abueva is playing will become better, especially if he will be discipline once he return, that would be good for him and for the team. However, other teams like SMB are also strong where Junemar is one of the leading players in that team. PBA games are getting into unpredictable game results will be same.as with the NBA game. That's given as they have won many championships and Fajardo is the best player in the PBA now, but if he will not play when PBA resume, that would be nice to see since all Filipino cut won't be dominated by the SMB.

The pandemic period gives a chance for injured players to come back healthy. As per the report, before the PBA suspends the season, Fajardo will be out for only the whole conference and not a season. The usual is 2-3 months if I'm not mistaken for a conference to run. This month, PBA supposed to be on the Playoffs to Finals of Commissioners Cup. Given that period, Fajardo is now capable to play and might come back on the PBA resume. If only there's no pandemic, we should witness by now how the All-Filipino turned out without Fajardo's domination.

Once he is in full shape and healthy on next season for sure SMB will be more dangerous opponent. Although for sure the fans would love to see him in playoffs but I really think he need to rest to make sure he's fully useful in the court once he came back.

If the management allowed him to return, we can assure that he is fully recovered, besides, those previous news we read says only the estimate of when he will be back, and maybe he is recovering so fast that's why the rehab started earlier than expected.
