I wonder how they'll get more revenue in paid to watch the live game in the television without the abs-cbn sports channel right now. Is there any other channel network that operate a sports channel?(not familiarize to all tv channels as I'm not often using it).

TV5 (ABC5) is the one that has the right to broadcast PBA games for over a decade now. Their sports branch Sports5 covers it.

They also have a live stream on their Youtube channel.

I didn't know it was now named "One Sports" just March this year. I have known them as "ESPN5" and "Sports5".

It's harsh mate lol. You have a point though. They want to push the season to come back again on track. Same with other businesses, they are operating with loss and the reason for resuming is to somehow cope up with it. They have "savings" and that might be used to cover all spendings regarding the resume. PBA is also backed by 12-teams and sure they will help the league. We can say that they can still handle the loss.

As per the article, after not generating income since the league was halted, the PBA office remains in operation and continues to pay the salaries of its employees.

And good thing "“At ‘yung teams, team owners and governors parang ‘yung equity nila na dahan-dahan munang (pinapagamit) sa PBA para gamitin sa pangsweldo.”

Imagine if they will not be given a clearance soon, every month they will bleed until people will be losing jobs.
We are not in a normal situation, there's a risk on continuing the season but the government has to consider the amount of money this organization will loss and how it will affect the lives of the people working for them if  they will only be given a chance to resume once the pandemic is over.

I can feel it, it looks like PBA will resume next month as what has been the target.

As per the article I shared above, with or without enough revenue, once PBA comes back, they would rather not think of the financial aspect "at least for now".

What matters according to Marcial is, they will come back for the fans. Of course, it's impossible to just throw away money without expecting in return so what I'm seeing here is, they will continue the league, even shorthanded, to slowly get some revenue even how small it is to support their savings. As I also mentioned, big companies are backed to PBA so I'm sure they will contribute to some preparations if necessary.

However for some fans like me, I prefer to watch in a live streaming in facebook, so I'm not seeing an ads, lol...

Hopefully they will also bring back the streaming in their youtube channel.

Sidelined from PBA action for more than a year now, Abueva said he still needs to finish a series of psychological tests before commissioner Willie Marcial and the board of governors decide on his fate.

"I really believe Calvin will complete them before we start our closed circuit [setup]," Alas told One Sports show Sports Page in Filipino, referring to the PBA training restart.

He has been suspended for a long time, one year is too long for a suspension but I like the news that the coach tells his support and confidence as that would help Calvin Abeuva to follow comply on everything that is required to.

If his contract will expire with his current team, then he can decide whether he will play outside and will wait for a new team to sign him up.

His contract will probably expire this month of September.

Well, that is just 2 months away and if the BOD doesn't have a decision before the expiration of his contract then he may play in other countries for money because we know already how much money did he lost in not playing for almost a year or more.

Abueva is being known for his attitude inside the court hence his name "The Beast" is applicable for him but at that time when he did the wrong thing that cause him indefinite suspension is just too much. Playing physical on the court is still ok since we are known for being a physical team.

I don't think too that he will change his play style because he has been known for that way. Its just that he will adjust and minimize his actions.

I saw some of his highlights in college, he was the MVP IIRC but he doesn't have a kind of big fight that he experience in his time in the PBA.



That one is really hard to forget, and that's the reason why he got suspended indefinitely, I've watch the reply a lot of times and I saw what he did could kill a person, that's in the throat I guess and he is also a strong guy although Terrence was really a beast.

I've watched a video just hours ago and it also came from a reputable site (spin.ph) so this is true.

In the video I watched, the owner said that he isn't passionate with basketball anymore and if they will just be penalized with what they've done it would be better if they will just sell the franchise to other teams or companies. He will just focus on Boxing he said.
