I think it's hard to compare both as they would not face in the PBA, Kia Sotto is still young and maybe by the moment Kai would play in the PBA if he would fail in the NBA, maybe Fajardo will not be in his prime anymore or maybe he'd be retired that time.

There's also other ways to decide which is better between the two, and that is by their achievement, Fajardo have already won multiple MVPs and Kail has to also prove by achieving the same, but if Kai would make it to the NBA, end of discussion, he definitely is better than Fajardo and all the big man in the PBA, past and present.

Yup, end of discussion on who's the better of them when Kai will be drafted by the NBA but still he has not surpass what record Fajardo has broken in the PBA  Smiley. Kai don't need to meet Fajardo on the court to be considered one of PBA's great player, all he need to do is to dominate when he is in.

When Kai was in high school, literally he is the tallest of them all but he never became a champion, why is that? He never lack the training and for me he is the one who got the best training of all the high school players in the Philippines but sad to say he  never have a championship trophy to show in the UAAP high school.

How about Fajardo, was he a champion back in his college days when he was still playing with the University of Cebu?  Smiley

I don't know mate since I only see him dominate in the PBA, I think you have followed his basketball career before the PBA.

I don't know mate since I only see him dominate in the PBA, I think you have followed his basketball career before the PBA.

I think what the point of bisdak is, Kai Sotto does have all the resources to support his basketball activity. His family affords to give everything to Kai but still less improvement and shown inconsistency during high school. Fajardo on the other side, came from a poor family and just relying on his own strength as a foundation.

But take note of Fajardo's rookie season, the time he was drafted, he shows a performance that isn't on the rookie level. And the rest is history.

I'm with Kai Sotto on his dream, who else doesn't want a first local in NBA, but there is no room to compare him against Fajardo. For now, Kai is overrated.

Junemar is 31 years old as of this moment so provably he will be out of his prime when he face Kai in PBA once he choose to join in PBA but for sure there's a big difference between them since in experience for sure KAI will skills will prevail since he have lot of experience overseas with strong opponents compare to Fajardo. Even if Fajardo will be on his prime for sure he will shake his head once he face a young and skilled Kai in the court.

If ever that KAI choose to play locally match up between him and JMF is no longer that exciting, as mentioned JMF is no longer on its prime plus those injuries that he already have while KAI attends special practices and more advanced trainings abroad. Though the chance still slim since KAI really aiming to play to NBA and be the first pure blood pinoy to represent our country.
It's a big achievement for our fellow kabayan, he had the height and the skills all he needs for now is more exposures so media will hype his way to the NBA.

For the injury got by Junemar recently for sure there are changes for his game and provably he will not the same as before when he performs well compare to the past years but we cannot really compare since Kai and Junemar have different generation so for sure, there will be no competition among them. If we talk about skills for sure Kai is more advance since as you said he is advance since he plays and trained well in the US.

I guess this remains to be seen but the latest injury of Junemar was I think the worse in his career as a PBA player, correct me if I'm wrong.
On the other hand, comparing both is hard because we might be bias but if KAI will be asked, I think he would say Fajardo is better than him and Fajardo might also not gonna agree with that as he is a humble guy.

Maybe we can start competing these two when KAI would play in the PBA, if not, then it's not wise to compare the two.

Just saying.  Grin

I don't know mate since I only see him dominate in the PBA, I think you have followed his basketball career before the PBA.

Yup, he led the Webmasters to the finals thrice but only won twice. His first finals appearance was versus the team of Greg Slaughter in 2009 who defeated them in that series 3-1 but as a consolation to the Kraken, he was selected co-MVP with Slaughter that year. When Slaughter left Cebu, it's all Kraken show as he led his team to two consecutive championship.

Below are some of the notable awards that Junemar got in college basketball.

Code:
> National Collegiate Player of the Year (2010)
> 2× CESAFI champion (2010–2011)

No argument with that, knowing how humble JMF he would rather say that the young player is much better than him, and with KAI as respect from how far the Kraken already achieved he surely gives the credits to him and chances that he also idolized JMF for dominating the league, though he walk the otherside since he's aiming for much bigger career.

There's always opinions and self explanatory basis, both players have it's individual talents which from the eyes of their respective fans is more better than the other.

Nice achievement but I think the level of competition in Cebu compared to Manila is different, there's bigger and stronger competition in Manila.
Like CESAFI means (Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc.), so I'm presume that the competition is only in Cebu.

How about KAI, anyone can tell us what's his achievement UAAP?

There is always difference in every players. We cannot compare the game play of the Kraken to Kai even they have similarities in roles. Kai can improve more since he plays in other countries wherein there are lots of tall players that probably test his agility and height. But for me, Junemar is good at offense than Kai, and Kai as well is good at defense and blocks.

It is just sad to think that Junemar is injured. My best team in PBA may struggle without the help of the Kraken.

There's no comparing please,.. you just compared them now. Grin
KAI sotto will improve more and it's normal that there's a lot of hype on him since he is now playing abroad and we are hoping he will be successful.

Before KAI there was a Kobe Paras who also have the same hype or even bigger but he is now playing in the Philippines, so it's safe to say that he failed on his journey in the US.

SMB will not struggle, it will only make SMB an ordinary team now, yes, from Special to ordinary since less JMF.

He failed indeed, there are lots of competitions with skilled players with the same position that he have, not even the hyped bring him in that's why he came home and play for UP fighting maroons. And from what we are witnessing right now, he's not dominating hopefully this coming season we will see more from him.

It is just sad to think that Junemar is injured. My best team in PBA may struggle without the help of the Kraken.

Maybe they will but considering that this team still have a good lineups they are still competitive.

SMB will not struggle, it will only make SMB an ordinary team now, yes, from Special to ordinary since less JMF.

It will make the league more balance, without JMF SMB will still relied with their veterans, and for sure Tautua will be there to fill a little what the Kraken will missed.

Some expected that SMB will struggle without JMF, but guys, did you see their first game?

Well, let us again watch some highlights from the first and only game in the All Filipino CUp.

Highlights: San Miguel vs Magnolia | PBA Philippine Cup 2020

We can see how dominant still the SMB even without JMF as they beat the Magnolia which is one of the best teams in the current conference.
ROMEO and Tautuaa had a good game in this opening game.

It's just so fun to watch Romeo showing its best, hopefully more playing time for him and he can lead the team this conference.

Also, I'm expecting some consistency from Tautuaa  Grin

Alaska success: More from Cone than anything, says Banal

Who agrees with him? personally I became a fan of the Alaska Aces it was already coach Tim Cone who coaches the team.

Tim cone for me a definition of a good team he can transform a team to become a good team, just like what he did with the Ginebra Kings.

I agree with him, Tim Cone is one of the greatest coach in the PBA. Just take a look at the team he coached after Alaska, they were accomplishing things that i think won't be achieved if coach Tim was not there. BMEG/Magnolia did have a grandslam under him which i think is very hard to duplicate.

In the case of Alaska, all the pieces were coming together. The triangle offense which coach Cone used as a system did have the best players that time like Abarrientos, Duremdes, Lastimosa, Hawkins and the rest of the gang.

Alaska success: More from Cone than anything, says Banal

Same, one of the few coaches in PBA that I really admire, became a fan of him when he won bmeg/magnolia a grandslam. When he left for Ginebra, I already knew he's there to win a championship. He's that capable of taking care of his team. Ramon Ang knew it. He know how to handle his players, knew each of them very well.

Indeed, he will not be called "The Winningest Coach" for nothing because we all witnessed how he earned it over the years. I'm convinced with his coaching skills because he even made a "kangkungan" (GSM lol) back on its track. He made me realized that you don't necessarily need to build an All Star Team to secure the championship — it seems that a good strategist is enough. So if Tim will go to weaker teams in the future like Columbian Dyip or NLEX, I might say that he can make it a champion too Grin. What do you guys think?

This is what I like to see, I have no doubt it him so for sure he can give a championship to this team.
However, he might be expensive that only big franchise in the NBA can afford him at the moment, if we have Fajardo in the PBA as the best player, we also have coach Tim Cone as the best coach.. do you think he is better than coach Leo Austria?

Willing to hear your thoughts here? who is the better coach?

I think that should be PBA instead of NBA Smiley.

Anyway, If you will ask me I'll go with Tim Cone. I look on their career records and I found out that they got the same age (I can't believe it either, I thought Austria is older than him, my whole life is a lie lmao) but Tim got more awards compare to Leo. Both of them got coaching experiences on international scene but I might say Tim's are still bigger. Don't get me wrong, I'm not biased or hating the other. I know that they already prove their worth in this sports and I recognized it. Huge respect for these coaches.

I'd go with Tim Cone as well, he made different team a championship team so I think he is more better compared to Leo Austria who only gain his success coaching the SMB team which also has the best player in the PBA.

I do remember those old years when you will see Alaska competing with different teams for the title, Like what you have said he won't be the winningest coach for nothing, including 2 grand slam with different teams.

I'm convinced with his coaching skills because he even made a "kangkungan" (GSM lol) back on its track. He made me realized that you don't necessarily need to build an All Star Team to secure the championship — it seems that a good strategist is enough.
Funny but it's a real deal with Tim Cone, he builds a good chemistries between his players, he's dedications to keep the team progressives.

So if Tim will go to weaker teams in the future like Columbian Dyip or NLEX, I might say that he can make it a champion too Grin. What do you guys think?

He can if the managements and the players will follow his lead, with complete supports from everyone it is not impossible to happen.

Another bad news for coach Tab Baldwin.

I thoughts this controversy is already over, but then.

Tab Baldwin taken out of roles at TnT KaTropa in wake of controversy

Quote
TAB Baldwin has been removed from his positions as assistant coach and consultant of TnT KaTropa in the PBA, sources told SPIN.ph on Thursday.

Baldwin's ouster came just weeks after he made controversial comments in a Coaches Unfiltered podcast wherein he lashed out at the PBA's single-import format, called its coaches 'tactically immature,' and alleged that imports are given 'rules latitude' by referees and league officials.

I feel sorry for him, it's bad for the TNT as I believe he could be a big help to the team.
