It's actually hard to decide since I like both players, but since I have to choose then I will pick CJ Perez over Bollick.
Though his team sucks last conference but he showed he can give some life to his team and he has really improving per conference.

CJ Perez doesn't look fancy with the way he played but he is consistent as he can score and make good plays for his team.
Maybe because bollick was injured, I haven't seen most of him last conference so I pick CJ Perez, but Bollick was really good, he is also doing well with the Northport and he is a rising star IMO.

1) Their individual performance.
If we will just base on the individual performance, it will be Perez for me. There are times where he is scoring 20 points but often loses on the game because of lack of help coming from his teammates but his performance is still good.

2) Their impact on their team.
I would go for Bollick on this category. There are times where he is passing the ball to his teammates, thing that I can't see on Perez in my opinion.

Overall, I think I would go for Bollick too with this. Sadly he got injured last year so he didn't played on some conferences but when PBA comes back, he will be in good shape and ready to return in the court.

Who do you think is the better player between the two?
~snip~

TBH, i'm having a hard time choosing who is better of the two  Smiley but i'll give a little edge to CJ Perez here. When he joined Columbian Dyip, seems to me that every game that they played, they were close games and they got a chance to win those games only that for now they are a young team and lack the experience when it comes to closing games.

Both are franchise player caliber and they are the future face of the PBA, they should have been the number one and two pick over-all of the last draft.

When the PBA resumes, Bolick and North Port will have an edge over Perez since Bolick have Cstand on his team.

1) Their individual performance.
I go with Perez because he is Columbian Dyip's scoring machine so it's pretty obvious that he can create more points compared to Bolick. Plus, he awarded as the Rookie of the Year (2019). That was his big edge over the rest of the rookies on that year Smiley.
2) Their impact on their team.
This is a tough question mate. I can't even decide because I witnessed how hard they perform during FIBA. For me they are both hardworking players and can carry their team on their own way as well. Hmm, can I say a Draw? Lol. But if I really need to choose one, I guess I'll go with Bolick (for the sake of equalizer Grin).

I watched most of his games and I'm pretty amazed by the way he played, he has a very high confidence that he even looked like he is the real leader of the team, but like you said, it's just unfortunate that his teammates can't contribute well for them to win.

2) Their impact on their team.

Northport has now improve as a team, we might not see bollick scored that much since he has a lot of teammates who can help in the offense and they have  Stand now, so they would really improve as Bollick is a very good team player.

That's the point, Bollick will have lesser burden as he has Cstand who is proven to be a very consistent player with this position.
Both will maybe compete in the future but Columbian Dyip has to acquire some players that would improve their line up as a team.

That would make Bollick to boost his team but not his individual stats compared to CJ Perez where he is the one who are generating most points for his team, it's an advantage for Bollick as a team but advantage for CJ Perez per individual stats.

However, Perez is still young, so I'm hoping that if DYIP won't improve, other team will acquire him and he will join a a team that is a championship contender just like what Romeo and Pringle did.

1) Their individual performance.

Stats-wise, CJ Perez will be the winner. An average 20+ points per game as a rookie is an impressive performance He is also the first option of Columbian DYIP that also contributes to his good offensive stats. But Robert Bolick wasn't left behind and also has good stats on his rookie season.

Maybe I will give 2-3 season. That will be a good comparison.

But for me, I don't like to compare them since Bolick's injury will also bring an impact on his future playing performance. Tearing the ACL is not a joke that even for a player that has the mindset of they can still be aggressive and feels 100% healthy, their body might not cooperate. So in here, no need to push him as a first option. He just needs to play his role at his best in every game.

Agree with that, the injury seems to be serious but hopefully he will be back to normal since Bollick is still young and he can still fully recover.
Both players re really effective in their respective team, although their teams are not really that successful but since they are doing really well, then fans are starting to love their teams.

NP was never the same team when Romeo left and more so when Pringle was traded, but with the arrival of Cstand and they Bollick withe them which is healthy again, I think they will be a good contender in any conference.

Of course because NP before only relies on Romeo and Pringle but despite these two backcourt players are stars in the NBA, they can't beat the team that plays as a team, so maybe it's a blessing in disguise that both was out in the team so they can experiment with the new players that would try to bring success to the team, and thus far, NP is going at the right path, they have improve with CStand, hopefully he will help this team rebuild.

They are young and they are hungry, so I think they had a good chance to be a contender when the PBA resume.
One player I hope to be fully healthy throughout the conference is CStand, though he is new but I believe he is now the heart and soul of the team, without him, Northport will struggle again will be a shitty team again.

Anyway, since it was not posted in this thread yet. I'd like to extend my condolences to Danding Cojuangco, he passes at age 85 last Wednesday.

Maybe a blessing in disguise that Cstand landed in NorthPort and Slaughter ruined all the plan of SMC of their bigger plan. There's a buzz that Cstand will be traded to Ginebra for Greg Slaughter but with the disappearance of the later, all of that was shelved for the moment. NorthPort now will be force to use Cstand in their favor and with the return of Bolick, these two would bring their team to greater heights. With that Bolick will have an advantage over CJ Perez because his load is not too heavy.

Everything was going right, I heard about that rumors also that Cstand will be traded for Slaughter which I don't think since CStand has already proved his value with the Northport, and now that Slaughter is out in the PBA, we will likely to see Cstand stay longer with his current team now.

Maybe this is the time that SMB teams will face a good rival in the PBA.

I believe that Cstand although not as tall as Fajardo and Slaughter he will be a big star in the PBA in the long run, of course as long as he remains healthy.

He doesn't need to be as big as Fajardo or CStand to be a star player, before he was drafted in the PBA, he already has a lot of experience so that makes him so ready in the PBA, I believe with the seasons he has played with the PBA, he already proved that he is on the "STAR" level as a player.

If he will continue to play with Fajardo, he can't maximize his talent as he is only given a limited time unlike with his current team now that he can play 20-30 minutes, and what i like about CStand is he is a cool guy in the ring, he does not complain and instead he really work hard to contribute for the team.

So the all teams are already tested, and good news is that they are all positive.

The Elite are the latest PBA team to undergo testing outside of those from the San Miguel Corporation (SMC) and Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP) groups.

San Miguel Beer, Barangay Ginebra, and Magnolia had all been tested negative of COVID, so did NLEX, Meralco, and TnT Katropa.[/b]

Hopefully NP would find the right blend after CStand and a healhty Bollick this team needs a good system where players will no longer relied with their stars but to build strong support coming from each players inside the court. After Romeo and Pringle left this franchise the two stars finds good system  maximizing their skills, they don't need to keep scoring but to have a good ball rotations and find higher percentage shots. If Bollick and CStand will also find the same system the chance to bring this team to a higher achievements are very possible.

San Miguel Beer, Barangay Ginebra, and Magnolia had all been tested negative of COVID, so did NLEX, Meralco, and TnT Katropa.[/b]

If that's the case then it's very bad news bro. I think you mean "their tests comes out negative of COVID-19 virus".

So what's the next stage? Does it mean that the PBA will resume soon?

Testing is the first stage of the resumption process and let's wait till the government declare a MGCQ status of all in the NCR at least because by that time mass gathering will be allowed but it must follow certain protocols like wearing of mask and physical distancing. Hope thing will be better their in the NCR next month because here in Metro Cebu things are not looking good as far as i can see it.

Yay, sorry it was a typo error, I was thinking of this positive news, so instead of negative, I wrote "positive". Thanks for the correction.

I think we can expect this by next month if the government will not extend the MGCQ, but even without a crowd to avoid mass gathering, I think PBA can still resume as millions of people will prefer to watch the live sports in TV.

At least we pass the first test which I think the most important of all the requirements. So I'm looking forward for more positive news.  Grin

In this news : https://www.manilastandard.net/sports/basketball/326444/pba-optimistic-season-can-resume-soon.html

The PBA is optimistic that the season will resume soon but they didn't give a specific or estimated date, but hopefully they will resume next month as the NBA will also resume its season next month, that would be a lot of quality time for us bettors and fans of basketball.

Yes, this is the first step and slowly PBA will reach the final step to resume.

This article is worth a read.

Ildefonso recalls how he taught Fajardo to make a living inside the paint

Just like I thought, Fajardo was really a humble player that's why he keep improving as he always listen, though he is already the best player in the PBA now (no doubt) but you can him very humble in the court, he is very professional and he listen to his coach, I would not be surprise if he has a lot of real friends not only in the SMB roster but with other teams as well.

I missed him, hopefully he can come back fully healthy next season.

speaking for figures, just for you guys to have an idea how much he is making.

copied from the article above.

Quote
“Sabi ko sa kanya, hindi ka yayaman diyan dahil 6-9, 6-10 ka. Alam mo kung saan ang pera? Doon sa ilalim ng goal. Doon mo kunin. P150,000 lang suweldo mo dito, sabi ko sa kanya. Doon (sa ilalim ng goal), P500,000, ‘yung maximum,” said Ildefonso.

~snip~

And the rest is history lol. Fajardo is really one of a kind and maybe most of you here will disagree with me but i think Kai Sotto won't break his record even if the kid is taller that JMF15  Smiley.

Off topic a bit. Let's vote for our very own Norwood for this one kind of award in FIBA. Below is the link.
