Good news, looks like PBA is going to resume soon if they will follow what the NBA is doing. A message from the GAB makes me believe that PBA is going to resume soon as they are already the ones who are giving a suggestion. Here's the news. https://pba.ph/news/gab-raises-an-option-that-pba-teams-can-take NO less than Games and Amusements Board chairman Baham Mitra said a "semi-bubble" in places like Batangas, Bataan, Quezon could be an option for the PBA teams to conduct their workouts.
For as long as the target region is under GCQ or a less strict quarantine status, pro teams can enter in a bubble as approved by the provisions of the Joint Administrative Order signed by the Department of Health, GAB and the Philippine Sports Commission.
Of course, the ball clubs have to seek clearances from the PBA Commissioner's Office and the local government unit who has the jurisdiction over the area. This is indeed a good news for PBA fans but looking at the reality, it seems that we are dipping into more trouble now and people in the NCR are not minding anymore if the PBA resumes or not, all they want is to survive this crisis. Bubble or semi-bubble is too expensive here in the Philippines so i think they better wait for the quarantine status in the NCR to be lowered to GCQ and then to MGCQ but even this time of MEQC they can start the training of teams so that when MGCQ comes, they will only need a little time for players to bring back to basketball shape.

I believe we can survive, however, let's us not concentrate on the NCR alone, we are a country and if PBA will resume, it would make every fans in the entire country happy seeing them back on their screen. NCR is heavily affected with the pandemic, but business has to resume and NBA is an entertainment to us, we don't spend for it, at least it could give some relief by enjoying watching the game despite of the problem we are facing now. USA has more serious problem than us in terms of covid-19, but they continue to live as normal, for sure Filipinos can do the same.

It's expensive indeed but it can be settled between franchise owners and the PBA organization, if they close a good deal between and both sides agrees this possibilities will take place. Though for now since another MECQ has been implement inside NCR and those places that have more numbers of infected by this virus. It's best to wait for another 2 weeks and see if there's a good sign again if this Quarantine stage will be lowered back.

There are some players who really are lucky to have an opportunity to still work with the PBA or other basketball league after they retire, the latest one I heard was RDO, now, we also have Gabe Norwood which according to the article below are already receiving coaching offers. Gabe Norwood already getting coaching offers, says Caloy Garcia THIS early, Gabe Norwood has been getting offers to become a coach. In fact, Norwood was already being eyed to be part of the coaching staff of the Letran Knights.

Agree with waiting for another 2 weeks to see some result on what will happen if they resume since feasible study is really needed since we doesn't know on what will happen, again we don't have a vaccine yet and if they push things on they might put their health at risk. Even if they put the game option on the place where under GCQ still this is not the best choice, we are so excited to resume the game but we all know the health care system in our country is so behind and the hospitals are almost full so we can't afford to have a mistake in this case.

Lovin to see the love of Abueva from different people, look like a lot of articles has already been published about the suspension of abueva that has gone too long, hope the PBA commissioner will listen and grant him to play again. This is the latest one. https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/calvin-abueva-ban-has-gone-far-too-long-it-s-already-a-travesty-a2244-20200810?ref=feed_1_sectionCHICAGO - Minus all the facts, with only one side - the PBA - spewing vague, sporadic details, I used to tip-toe around the Calvin Abueva suspension like a cat burglar in a pre-dawn heist.
But after hearing Abueva plead his case during a 17-minute, 39-second interview at Power and Play with Kom Noli last Saturday, I have enough ammo to tackle this travesty more responsibly.
In the criminal justice system, even the most hardened offenders are granted parole or provisional liberty when some time is already served and if genuine contrition is shown.

PBA is lacking star players which is the fundamentals of every games to gather a lot of audiences to watch their show. Now is the time for Abueva to get back in the game since it has been too long for his absence. I mean what is the PBA commissioner are thinking for not letting him play after all this time? they need to think in the positive sides on what this players can give if they let him play on the court again.

Do you mean Abueva is one of those stars who can somehow fill the arena? No. Fan-based depends on team impression - Ginebra No.1. Even SMB's recent finals appearance wasn't able to fill at least 80% of the arena capacity. And the commissioner did a good job of not letting playing Abueva for long. It's reasonable. And for us, we feel it's taking longer since we hit the pandemic but I think at the start of the Philippine Cup last March, he supposed to come back and play so I will expect him to be present once the league resumes.

I would agree with what @goinmerry said that Ginebra is still #1 in terms of audiences that is why they are being called as "People's Champs" . Probably the suspension of Abueva took too long but for me I think that is enough already. Although many are complaining with the punishment, I'm expecting that in this coming season he will play again. If he will not play again this upcoming season then I think there is a problem here or maybe he will go to other countries to play. We've seen offers from different countries and he might accept these offers if he will not play this season.

There are many promising players in the Philippines but it needs more resources for them to join a team. Other than that the PBA still dominated by big companies to which it will not get other teams the chance to grow and other organizers wanting to create a team. However, the PBA could still grow with those team that are dominating in the league. It is just a matter of time that PBA will be going to be huge one day.

NBA did great during the bubble and handling the players, it is said that they even went to the lengths of putting a lot of fishes in the pond in that compound for the NBA players to fish. I hope that if this was approved, it will be the same as the NBAs management of the players. With a lot of things going on, these small things could help.

We can't compare because the difference is obvious, when it comes to training and handling the team; NBA is the best. I'm also a fan of PBA but there are still a lot of improvements that they should do, the training of per teams and per individuals in the NBA is really crazy tough where they have proper training and proper nutrition. The PBA can become more popular and it can patronize by a lot of people if the system will be changed where there will be a major developments and improvements all over the league.

Like what? can you cite an example? I think we have already seen everything the PBA can offer, it's just up to the fans if they will love the PBA or not. IMO, this is the most popular PBA league in the Philippines, next is NCAA or the MPBL, but PBA is like the NBA in USA. Of course they need to improve if there's a need to, but I don't know what they have to improve, so it's hard to find something that they can't offer at the moment. You are correct that we can't compare PBA to NBA as their not even close, PBA is just watch by most Filipinos but NBA is watched all over the world.

There is no mention of comparing PBA to NBA on the post you have quoted. He said that Abueva can take an offer instead outside the country if ever there's no chance for him to come back. I don't see the significance of comparing PBA to the NBA. It's way too far and the NBA operates globally. Their players came from throughout the globe meaning it's international. "PBA is a LOCAL league". And when we say, offers from other countries, it doesn't mean it's NBA right away. There's a local basketball league too in other countries wherein they signed a player as an import. In Asia, PH is one of the most recognized competitive team so teams within our range of performance also recruit PH players aside from recruiting Western players.

Do not forget the solid team that has always win championship games. We know that Phoenix is a good team but players like Wright leading the team is not an assurance that they could win a championship game. For now since the PBA has just started Beermen already has show off in their first won against Magnolia which is also a good team with good line up now P. Lee and J. Corpuz could done so well in the match but since we know that beermen is the brand of champion and records now 1-0 win vs Magnolia.

He can be trusted on outside perimeter but it will be a different story for him in inside, so for this I don't think he can lead the team since as mentioned he is not consistent and I think he is just a seasonal player. Maybe he's just been hyped since he is part of the Gilas but I think phoenix will struggle this time especially abueva is out on their rotation.

You said it right, He's consistency is needed in order for him to lead his team, if he can influenced the entire squad to play like him and aimed the trophy, not just a on and off night which more or less without abueva's presence they are really struggling. He's good in terms of both offense and defense but not enough to shoulder the team mentally, he needs that caliber making more aggressive to win every games.

Wright ready to be the leader and lead gun at Phoenixcan he lead the team to be a contender, or he is still very young and needs to learn more? My observation is without abueva they struggle because Wright is not consistent enough and is not matured yet to lead a team. What do you think, what more they need to improve the team? You said it right, He's consistency is needed in order for him to lead his team, if he can influenced the entire squad to play like him and aimed the trophy, not just a on and off night which more or less without abueva's presence they are really struggling. He's good in terms of both offense and defense but not enough to shoulder the team mentally, he needs that caliber making more aggressive to win every games. For a team to be a contender, at least they have a big 3, aside from Abueva which was still serving his suspension, I don't see anyone who can consistently provide a help for the team to win, they need a PG like the skills of Chris Ross and Jason Castro, hope they can find one.

What do you think, what more they need to improve the team?
He has a talent and when he is on fire, we see how good he is on his outside and perimeter shooting. But I agree with you, the problem is inconsistency. We can't hide the fact that sometimes he is not playing well. This is normal though but Phoenix doesn't have any reliable players as of now that can fill the space if ever their main players rare off-night. Phoenix is by far needs to overhaul more their roster if they want to be a contender. He can be trusted on outside perimeter but it will be a different story for him in inside,
No need for him to do the job inside. He should stay with his main role. That's why I said Phoenix should market some players, mainly for Center position. Looking at their lineup, they are lacking players that can hold the inside offense and defense.
