It's all depending on how we follow the rules of the GCQ, if we fail, then sadly will be back with EQC where more restrictions.
Hopefully it's not gonna happen again, our lives will be affected again and probably other part of the Philippines might also be strict again. Only Manila has been affected a lot with the Virus, the numbers are growing, we are seeing that but stopping the business from operating and putting back to ECQ is something I don't like to agree with, there has to be a another measures to be followed.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial is positive with the return, I think we should be positive as well. https://pba.ph/news/marcial-takes-positive-mindset-pba-can-resume-stalled-season

I'm not trying to be pessimistic here but the current scenario (COVID testing) does not look good to me as more and more people are getting the virus and with the GCQ status, people are going out of their house so the danger of infecting others and getting the virus is much higher now. Also there are some players who have apprehensions of getting back to practice, i hope they will address these concerns. But i know that they won't resume until it is safe for everybody. https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/pba-teams-told-to-address-player-fears-as-league-eyes-restart-a793-20200607?ref=feed_1_section

Maybe we can also have a bet on "when PBA will return?" we can put a month as a betting option but let's only put the choices of months within this year, whoever wins, they will divide the pot. What do you think, do you like this one? Hehe, I guess since PBA is still not available now, we can make a betting like this just for us not to forget to update ourselves with the current news about PBA.

This is great news for all of us here. 7/10 for PBA to return is not that bad considering how NBA officially will return as well even having a million of COVID-19 cases. God bless our Government for flattening the curve ASAP. Maybe we can also have a bet on "when PBA will return?" we can put a month as a betting option but let's only put the choices of months within this year, whoever wins, they will divide the pot. What do you think, do you like this one? Sounds fun. Count me in!

God bless our Government for flattening the curve ASAP. The commissioner being positive of the return does not automatically mean it's a good news because they still need the approval from the authority to resume the PBA. It's just normal that PBA commissioner is very positive since that's his sport. Maybe we can also have a bet on "when PBA will return?" we can put a month as a betting option but let's only put the choices of months within this year, whoever wins, they will divide the pot. What do you think, do you like this one? Sounds fun. Count me in! As usual, we can ask bisdak40 to facilitate this game, if we will include this in the betting, that would be two betting options and we can participate in any or both, but I think this one looks more attractive IMO.

Indeed, that's why PBA should not be hasty. Resuming the events would definitely open a huge gateway for the virus to spread more which later results to further longevity of community quarantines. I'm pretty sure our government will not risk such possibilities, isn't it? So for now, I'm not expecting that PBA will come soon. Maybe we should wait for few months more (-ber months could be a nice date) especially knowing that we still got huge number of cases on a daily basis .

I'm pretty sure our government will not risk such possibilities, isn't it? I am not sure with that, my basis is always very simple, if US will soon open the NBA then how would the Philippines be different? and we all know that there's no cure for the virus yet, we are in the situation with other countries, the only difference is the number of cases. So for now, I'm not expecting that PBA will come soon. Maybe we should wait for few months more (-ber months could be a nice date) especially knowing that we still got huge number of cases on a daily basis . Just be positive also man. PBA will return by the end of this year (most likely). It is our beloved sport as well, and sport that we love to have some fun betting on it. That's what I'm trying to point out on my previous post regardless of the numbers of cases here in PH and to other countries that will resume their respective leagues. Thousands of cases here against millions of cases on other country is not a basis that IATF will look at if they will allow large sports events here such as basketball. Also, no special treatment even PBA will likely propose to resumed even under the GCQ. For now, it's likely that Manila will remain under GCQ for at least months or might be revert back to ECQ if the numbers of confirmed cases will still grow in the next few days. Just be positive also man. PBA will return by the end of this year (most likely). It is our beloved sport as well, and sport that we love to have some fun betting on it. August will be the final announcement. Almost less than 2 months from now. If the COVID-19 situation doesn't flatten by that month, PBA will likely to resumed next year instead even things got better by September and October. They need more months for preparation after the announcement just like the NBA did. Still positive though that's why I'm trying to look at some reports if PBA can be done in other regions just what NBA did on the new format.

Anytime it can really be declared if they do saw that the situation become even more worst.Government shouldnt really wait for confirmed cases to rise up in thousands in a single day.As day goes by the no. of infected or positive patients do rise up and in case this would continue then we do know on where it would be heading. Just be positive also man. PBA will return by the end of this year (most likely). It is our beloved sport as well, and sport that we love to have some fun betting on it. Possibly that they can follow on what NBA had done into that new format. They can indeed apply it but still would require a proper plan and sufficient time for them to agreed on. Not on being too negative but i can presume out that the situation would come even more worst if we would continue to have this GCQ state. Resuming PBA for this year isnt really that too long for us to wait but all varies on whats the progress of the current condition.

I doubt GCQ would take that long to remain. Currently, we can see the number of positive COVID-19 increasing everyday hence probably by mid June there could be an announcement that Metro Manila will shift back to ECQ and will begin again the 2nd wave of hopeless flattening the curve. Imagine we've been 3 months in lockdown now and most likely just staying at home and still nothing to ease the boredom.

Possibly it will happen but I doubt the government will think about that since declaration for shifting to ECQ is so expensive and the funds of government is draining due to the past ECQ's and lock downs. I think the government have plans for tackling up on how to get back those businesses in new format since if they will not do a counteraction for economy matters for sure all of us will get affected on worse crisis. But as planned given I think PBA will start soon and I think the proper way for them to not cause any problem is to isolate their players and they should not let the outsiders come near close to them so that their will be no contamination or infection will happen while they are on live playing.

Yes, mid-June, either no status changed or revert back to MECQ (or much stricter than ECQ according to Palace spokesperson). And because of that, large sports activities such as basketball will not likely to resume. It was only allowed in MGCQ as I also mentioned above. There is no way PH will follow other countries just because they resumed their respective leagues unless PBA will spend money dedicated for resuming a league in an area outside Manila with the same practice as the NBA did. Sounds hassle so better just cancel the league for good and restart the season next year. Only a single game played this All-Filipino conference unlike in NBA that they are now are approaching the playoffs so a resume is a must and they are truly capable of doing that as they have lots of money to cover the operations. They also have several options for a venue unlike here in PH. As I'm trying to be positive, it's difficult to imagine that the curve will flatten until next month. Possibly it will happen but I doubt the government will think about that since declaration for shifting to ECQ is so expensive and the funds of government is draining due to the past ECQ's and lock downs. On-point and I agree. The decision is really crucial. What left is, we need to know at least what's the plan of PBA so that we can discuss here not entirely just out of our own view. Surely, there are already plans before the announcement that will be made in August.

They have spend billions of pesos already for the financial aid to the poor people, and with over 2 months, the government already spent P199.975-Billion. source : DBM releases P199.975-Billion for DSWD Social Amelioration ProgramBut as planned given I think PBA will start soon and I think the proper way for them to not cause any problem is to isolate their players and they should not let the outsiders come near close to them so that their will be no contamination or infection will happen while they are on live playing.
It's expected that just like the NBA, PBA games will be played without a crowd, that's the measures every sporting events has implemented now. The number of cases in Manila has been significantly increasing, but the government should still allow businesses to operate as we can't just hide forever while waiting for the vaccine, the government will get bankrupt if we will continue to implement the ECQ.

It's not just about playing without a crowd but all personnel, including players, should be locked up within the area. It will risky if they will allowed to go home every other game. In NBA, they will only play in a single venue and all staff and players will stay there until the end of the season or if the team is already eliminated. Their chosen venue is capable of doing that since there are also hotels there that can accommodate a large number of people. Even families are also allowed if a player wants. I doubt PBA can search for a venue like that. There is no way Smart Araneta, MOA Arena, or PH arena will allow PBA to occupy them for several months with only PBA as the league that will be played there.

Let's consider that this August, the board will announce the fate of the PBA, whether they will cancel the season or they will resume.
^^ will be the only betting we are going to make as commissioner Marcial have already spoken on the Abueva ban. https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/abueva-still-suspended-once-pba-season-resumes-says-marcial-a795-20200609?ref=home_hybrid_1

This is too much for Calvin, more than a year of uncertainty is too much of an agony of a player that have family to feed and he got bills to pay also. It seems that Calvin is a victim of injustice here.

A big problem in health and logistics. It won't be safe if the league will continue without the players, staff, and etc. quarantined in a facility where they won't have contact with other people. It is much safer that way. I think it will still take time before it will be back, we can't even flatten the curve. I doubt all those players wanted to play too. I think some are eager to play and some are still scared to play with anyone. I am not being pessimistic, I wanted the league to be back too. However, I am still concerned about the safeness of the people involved.

That's the problem of calvin because he didn't comply the requirement immediately, I think commissioner marcial is just basing on what he wants calvin to comply and if that is successfully complied, then he can come back and play, it's very simple. It seems that Calvin is a victim of injustice here.
You can't say that, he was the one who violated the rules, he was just sanctioned and he hasn't complied yet.

If that's the decision of the commissioner then he just have to respect that and I think if he's eagerly wants to play the sooner then he should have comply no matter what hindrances he faced. I think that still remains a lesson for him to take until he fully realize what he done has really huge consequences even this scenario right now that he will not still be able to play even if he had been allowed by the commissioner to practice with the Phoenix Fuel Masters.
